Here another one, and even not a 'stupidfarang'
I mention some time ago, at the time the penny was abolished, that was the only company that put 2 cents on the pump gauge without you having even filled up a drop.
In the Netherlands, they have a refinery that also refines for other companies but still Shell's price is always the highest.
What penny was abolished?
Not sure what you're talking about 2 cents, my pumps have always started at zero, as I always check.

TerraPower has received $2 billion from the US Department of Energy. Nice and the US gets a demonstrator. Should it prove better economics (ie., higher burn efficiencies, lower waste generation) for commercialization, the $2 billion should be repaid.
actually it's $1 billion from the govt, it's a total of $2 billion from govt and private funds.
I would like to see if the US government is investing that much they should have 50% shares in the company. No voting rights just share in the profits.

back around 2000ish I read an article in the BKK post, that some toll booth collectors and the manager were skimming money from the toll collections. They all were transferred to inactive position, nobody got fired or asserted for theft....just transferred.
How nice steal from the government and dont lose your job, just sit at a desk all day doing nothing...lol

Is there photos of them fleeing? evidence of the Road Traffic Offenses outside of the police statement of this right now?
I've only seen video of them restraining the cop, I'm sure there will be some eye witness statements appear in time but right now there is no evidence of what the police stated happened before the video
I'm not that familiar with the culture in New Zealand, so it's normal to restrain the police when they stop you in New Zealand?

Yes why do people get married 3 times? If the first fails give up.
Good logic, if you fail at something never try again.
Sounds like great advise, Maye all the losing football teams should just quit.

Just pointing out a incorrect statement u made i quote ( I'm no fan of Thaksin as he started the stricter visa/overstay rules, but Thaksin didn't tell the police to go out and kill people) the answer is YES he did and as for the comparison Thaskin to pol pot I agree Pol pot killed millions, but Even killing people, you are a mass murder and that is what Thaskin is plane and simple
"Lawyers have suggested that Thaksin's drug war might amount to a crime against humanity under Article Seven of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court [ICC], set up in 1992."
Glad you understand about pol pot.
still trying to be right?
Please provide a link to where Thaskin tells the police to go out and kill people.
I recalling reading about a watch list, which I'm sure in reality could be the same as a kill list, but again never read or heard that Thaksin told the police to kill people. He did use words like enemies referring to drug dealers.
and to make it clear, I'm not defending Thaksin or his actions, this is about you claiming he told the police to kill people, which I dont believe ever happened. I dont recall ever reading any comments like that in the paper nor heard anything on the radio or TV at the time.

Extrajudicial killings of alleged drug dealers in Thailand
Prime Minister of Thailand Thaksin Shinawatra announced on 28 January 2003 that a ‘war on drugs’ would begin on February 1, and continue until April 30, at which time the country would be drug-free. As a result, over 2000 persons lost their lives during this three-month period, murdered on the streets, in houses, restaurants and shops around the country. Others who escaped death have been forced into hiding or had their reputations and livelihoods ruined. Below is a selection of cases compiled from complaints received and investigated by non-governmental organizations, the media and other sources.I understand completely what happened I was hearing about daily.
Are you agreeing with mileandow that Thaksin was as bad as pol pot???
Read what I posted. I didn't say Thaskin was good or that I even liked him.
My statement was about his comparison of pol pot and Thaiskin which it's not even close to being the same.
Maybe you guys need to read some history on pol pot 1.5 -2 million people killed.

Think you need to read Thai history on Thaskin and Yes he did tell the police to go out and kill people he had kill lists made up. and it was not all drug dealers
I dont need to read up on it as I was here at the time. Yes, many innocent people were killed (almost half), but again it's nothing compared to pol pot.

A democratic government is way too complicated for Thai people, they are allowing a few non elected people to destroy their votes, its a real shame that Thailand will never have a truly elected government. its just pure corruption look at Thaskin as a prime example the guy should be locked up for a long time for what he has done to the thai people ordering the killing of people (PolPot comes to mind ), but nothing will change the thai people sub servant don't care attitude.
you're really trying to compare pol pot to Thaiskin?? do you even understand what pol pot did?? 25% of the population was killed
I'm no fan of Thaksin as he started the stricter visa/overstay rules, but Thaksin didn't tell the police to go out and kill people. That happened for various reasons, mainly being the typical shootouts between drug dealers and the police. Others being the BIB protecting their own interests, but the police said it was self defense which all know was BS...

No I am not an agent... I offered advice to him if he wants to save time and not worry about it and is not a broke dick like most of the Anti Agent crowd on this forum.
I had a friend that used an agent for a few years, loved the agent...until there was an issue and it turned out the agent had fake stamps.
just a few months ago there were some agents that did the same thing. I'm not saying all agents are bad, but to be safe I take care of things myself.

The simple answer is to renounce your US citizenship. That way your worldwide income will no longer be taxable by the US and you won't have this sort of additional compliance issues.
I would think he would loose his benefits from the USA if he did that, such as SS, Healthcare for being a vet etc.

You are correct. It’s ridiculous to me.What not to do:
Burn your bridges back home by eliminating your property and bank accounts.
Moving to Thailand while still having to work. Doing what? Working dead end jobs as a bar manager, “influencer”, blogger and then a Go Fund Me guru.
Wasting away ones most productive years just to “Live the Dream”.
Just look at the recent thread that mentioned the Aussie that’s looking for handouts to save his bar.
BTW, I live here. But wouldn’t/couldn't if I had to work here to support myself. Which is why I waited until I could live here independently.
Work and invest in the west. Spend in Thailand.
There are expats that own companies here and expats working for large multinational companies. My first trip to Thailand was for work and then my company transferred me to Thailand full time. I work with multinational companies and most of the upper management if from abroad. There is allot more to Thailand than bars....

In the US I went into a Circle K to get some water, snacks, etc...m
At checkout the counter had a basket like scanner that you placed the items in (including an $11 bag of ice).....It gave an amount and I went give the money to the "cashier"....They said no and pointed down under the counter to a bill machine that took the $$$ and dispensed the correct change....There were swipe/slots at the counter top for card payments.....
They also were not allowed to touch or bag the vended products....
Basically, 2-3 people manning a checkout counter that were not allowed, by policy, to do much of anything.....
It was my first purchase after arrival on the trip....After that, cards were the primary method of payment while I learned to check myself out almost everywhere we went.....
I think, only 2 ATM withdrawals during our 4 months there....
yes, sefl checkouts became a big thing during covid in the USA, now threre is allot of push back. I hate them. $11 for a bag of ice??? think there was a mistake.

I don't have any travel insurance. I live in TH and I have world-wide coverage (Cigna). Whenever I file a refund claim there a box to tick regarding whether the claim is because of an accident or not. Up to now I never had to tick the box.
A friend said he had once a light motorbike accident but he lied about it. He reported instead having fallen somewhere.
So if I rent a motorbike a good move is to see to it that it doesn't exceed 125cc?
you need to check the fine print on your insurance policy.
