  1. It seems very common, my wife's uncle paid over a million baht for the position of principle at school.
  2. USA Propaganda? if so, the Thai media is being told what to say by the USA or The USA has Russians in Thailand doing these things to make Russians look bad...so which one do you think it is?
  3. please tell me how do you pump up the price, it's not like the government can tax it.. also a tablet last I heard was now about 5 baht, or less. I heard low as 3 baht, this is what I heard as I dont buy it so dont really know, but for sure not 30+ baht.
  4. It's not getting, it's been a problem for decades. How to stop it, I have no clues as first the police would need to do their job and they only do that once in a while to show everyone that something is being done. There is just too much money being made both inside and outside of Thailand. If you dont already know the BIB controls most of this. The prices continue to go down and unfortunately many more people will loose their lives. The government has talked about rehab programs but this is Thailand and we know any government run program is going to be worthless anyway. So, what's the answer in Thailand? I truly dont know.
  5. Please tell me how the US in not facing consequences from the Ukraine war? The US is sending billions upon billions to help Ukraine fight off an invader. How is NATO a threat to Russia? NATO is an agreement between nations to support each other if invaded. If Russia has no plans to invade anyone why does he need to worry about NATO?
  6. actually Thailand takes what it can get from anyone and is always playing both sides of the fence.
  7. My advise is to see a lawyer. You are going to need a lawyer for the amity treaty part anyway.
  8. but that costs money and he needs to save every baht for his water sports business, which will launch Pattaya into the water sports hub of Asia.
  9. if they have an employment contract like they should the employer just cant fire them. Also there is severance pay. Why would the employees allow this? did the employees use fake documents to get a work permit? If the employee are legal they have rights, the labor board in Thailand is very strong and is on the side of the worker.
  10. You're right I'm lucky, I got a good education went to work for a company in the USA and after a few years they transferred me to Thailand. Sorry you have an issue! Thailand is not what it used to be (relaxed and easy going) It used to so easy to get a B visa, just needed a letter from a Thai company saying they were going to hire you. Then that was abused and they started wanting cooperate documents, taxes etc and it just got tighter since then. I feel sorry for guys like you having to deal with current government.
  11. I never had an issue getting a work permit and many of my expat friends never had an issue getting a work permit. Sure the process of getting a B visa has gotten harder over the years, but still not that difficult. Medieval? Ask a Thai how difficult it is for a work visa for the USA.
  12. you're still here? I thought you left 2 weeks ago.
  13. dont forget he's good at stealing girls from passed out drunk guys.
  14. What penny was abolished? Not sure what you're talking about 2 cents, my pumps have always started at zero, as I always check.
  15. actually it's $1 billion from the govt, it's a total of $2 billion from govt and private funds. I would like to see if the US government is investing that much they should have 50% shares in the company. No voting rights just share in the profits.
  16. back around 2000ish I read an article in the BKK post, that some toll booth collectors and the manager were skimming money from the toll collections. They all were transferred to inactive position, nobody got fired or asserted for theft....just transferred. How nice steal from the government and dont lose your job, just sit at a desk all day doing nothing...lol
  17. I'm not that familiar with the culture in New Zealand, so it's normal to restrain the police when they stop you in New Zealand?
  18. Good logic, if you fail at something never try again. Sounds like great advise, Maye all the losing football teams should just quit.
  19. so are you saying he didn't hit a girl and go to jail?
  20. Glad you understand about pol pot. still trying to be right? Please provide a link to where Thaskin tells the police to go out and kill people. I recalling reading about a watch list, which I'm sure in reality could be the same as a kill list, but again never read or heard that Thaksin told the police to kill people. He did use words like enemies referring to drug dealers. and to make it clear, I'm not defending Thaksin or his actions, this is about you claiming he told the police to kill people, which I dont believe ever happened. I dont recall ever reading any comments like that in the paper nor heard anything on the radio or TV at the time.
  21. I understand completely what happened I was hearing about daily. Are you agreeing with mileandow that Thaksin was as bad as pol pot??? Read what I posted. I didn't say Thaskin was good or that I even liked him. My statement was about his comparison of pol pot and Thaiskin which it's not even close to being the same. Maybe you guys need to read some history on pol pot 1.5 -2 million people killed.
  22. I dont need to read up on it as I was here at the time. Yes, many innocent people were killed (almost half), but again it's nothing compared to pol pot.
  23. you're really trying to compare pol pot to Thaiskin?? do you even understand what pol pot did?? 25% of the population was killed I'm no fan of Thaksin as he started the stricter visa/overstay rules, but Thaksin didn't tell the police to go out and kill people. That happened for various reasons, mainly being the typical shootouts between drug dealers and the police. Others being the BIB protecting their own interests, but the police said it was self defense which all know was BS...
