    Abbott: I sure do.
Costello: Then tell me the guys' names.
Abbott: I say, Who's on first, What's on second, I Don't Know's on third and then you...

  2. Prohibition - Wikipedia

Prohibition is the act or practice of forbidding something by law; more particularly the term refers to the banning of the manufacture, storage (whether in barrels or in bottles), transportation, sale, possession, and consumption of alcoholic beverages. The word is also used to refer to a period of time during which such bans are enforced.
  3. Countries already deeply indebted to Beijing through its Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) face increasing economic hardship caused by the Wuhan coronavirus pandemic, the South China Morning Post reported on Tuesday.

China uses the BRI to establish economically predatory infrastructure projects across the globe, expanding its sphere of influence. Chinese loans fund infrastructure projects in over 100 developing nations across Asia, Africa, Europe, and Latin America through the BRI, an initiative estimated to be worth $8 trillion.

  4. The staff at Pattaya Immigration in Jomtien have a difficult job and perform admirably given the work load, overcrowded conditions, and risk to their own health.

Which demonstrates that like most civil projects around the world, the Immigration Facilities (building-lands) were too small almost from the moment it was opened. Authorities never seem to plan for future growth, customer use, contingencies like corona disruptions.

The satellite office is a very nice surprise, and excellent plan, kudos to the authorities who made it and the automatic extensions happen.

  5. 3 Ways to Survive Under Martial Law - wikiHow

To survive under martial law, treat your new leaders with respect and obey their directions and orders. Be a friend to the regime by helping out military personnel and spreading information you have permission to disclose. To hide from the new government, stock a survival bunker with food, water, medicine, a radio, and other supplies.

  6. Curious to know:

    1. Why is Thai Immigration not working with Stranded Tourist to "waive" Visa Extension Fees?

    2. Why is Tourist Authority of Thailand not working with Stranded Tourists to arrange Return to their own Countries?

If Thailand showed more compassion and assistance to tourists it would make a big difference to the countries international image and might help bring tourists back after corona.

Jomtien Immigration is a zoo right now, absolute chaos. The report I heard was a temporary suspension of the 65k during the covid-19 crisis (unless your country still does income affadavits). Reason the amount of paperwork required as opposed to the simple and clean 800k deposit method. To do the 65k method you have to jump through hoops, I know because I have done it. The day before you go to Immigration you deposit to your passbook and update. You get a letter from your bank that vouches you are the owner of the passbook. Then you must go to your original bank branch only and they will download the Credit Advice slips and then prepare the letter showing one year of foreign transfers. You must have letters from your private pension and /or government pension vouching the source of your funds. One hiccup in this process and you are screwed. I witnessed countless times people having issues and having to fix and return later. During this crisis I can understand why immigration might want to temporarily put on the brakes. Rather than speculation I would like to hear a few Jomtien Immigration recent success stories during this crisis (not two weeks ago), that way we can put this thread to bed.

Just successfully completed the process using 65K method on Tuesday the 24th. It was exactly as you described, all the hoops and paperwork. Time consuming, expensive (multiple bank documents) and generally annoying.

What concerned me most was the overcrowding of the Jomtien facility, about 50% of the foreigners were not wearing face masks and allowed to enter the building with No Social Distancing in place.
