We've already had 3 power cuts this week and once power was so low it wouldn't even light a 24 watt bulb for a few hours.
More to come for sure

2 or 3 tanks of shell fuel save then 1 of shell v power, helps keep the injectors clean
The fuel save gives slightly better mpg though

Sadao or Padang Besar are safest

Yep, the online application is already frustrating,
I also need the metv as I stay about 4 months there.
I've opened an account and had it verified by e mail ,but when I try to sign in and complete the capture thing it tells me " text verification failed". I've probably tried it 50 times or more,.
I sent them e mails but no response yet.
Has anyone else experienced this?

in the past iv'e dealt with krabi immigration for 14 years and they never asked for 1 baht extra, and very nice polite people.
iv'e been living near to Buriram now for nearly 8 years and been using korat immigration, also no problems there.
the first problem iv'e ever had was at the new Buriram immigration 2 weeks ago.And next time I go there I'll be making a voice recording of our conversation.
And I will never forget the very drunk traffic cop leaning through the car window demanding 200 baht.with his gun drawn.near trang 12 years ago.
my wife at the time paid him.

So you're not bothered about right or wrong, you are only bothered about what suits you and where you can save a few baht
if I wasn't bothered about what is right or wrong I wouldn't have bothered writing a post about.but I'm not bothered about saving a few baht.I only really wanted to know if other immigration offices are charging a 500 baht fee for tm30.☹

no receipt was given.
I also got a certificate of residence (for a thai drivers licence)at the same time which was also 500 baht. But I don't have a problem with that as the same paper from my embassy would have cost a lot more

today myself and my Thai girlfriend went to Buriram immigration to notify them that I was now living in her home.the officer told her that the fee for this service is 500 baht and that she was lucky that he didn't fine her for registering late.(we arrived in Thailand at 6pm on Saturday from Malaysia and stayed in Bkk hotel 1 night) at the time we were at immigration I had been living in her house for approximately 15 hrs.when I explained this to him he only replied " Mai pen rai"
my girlfriend answered all of his questions such as when and where did you meet him? What work does he do and how much money does he have? Salary etc
I was under the impression that Thai people registering an alien in their home was free.obviously not.
has anyone else had the same experience?

does anyone think that this is a temporary stipulation by Thai immigration? Maybe after Feb 28 when they start charging for setv again they will become more easily available again.
