Unfortunately it is his supporters who are deranged. Think about that the next time you see a Muppet holding a “We are Q” sign.

The "Exodus" of European Farangs, The Trap.

People with dementia don’t know who or where they are, terrifying enough, and they still get hungry and feel pain. I guess you were joking? I can’t think of a worse end to your life, but for some this will be it. I’m hoping for a “Mexican suicide” - falling asleep in your chair like the stereotype Mexican in a western, and not waking up. -
As a technical expert in these matters I’d suggest the following: ”Righty tighty, Lefty loosey” i have tried other approaches, but this one worked for me.

Air Pollution Crisis Escalates with Hotspots Surge

I think Thailand is a great place, but this is the one aspect that puts me off staying here full time. I am not entirely sure what the impact is on a persons life, but my guess is that you shorten your lifespan living here. It’s like taking up smoking in your twilight years … not recommended.- 65 replies

I'm not sure that Thailand is a place to grow old, whether you have sufficient funds or not. Perhaps if you have married a Thai lady and have a family there are at least children who will make sure that you are okay. In that respect you are in much the same situation as anyone at home. However, if you have came to Thailand as an older person and simply hitched up with a girlfriend or got married then you might not have the support when you need it. They might view you as a liability that has served their purpose. And you'll be found on Beach Road Pattaya, not knowing your own name, and wearing an adult diaper. -
Niall Harbison and Soi Dog Foundation join forces to help stray dogs

Amusing how many on here think they should be humanely slaughtered! -
I spent some time there and thought it was a great place for anyone that wants a peaceful life. Nice coffee shops and food places, a night market that is not too big, and a pretty sizeable shopping mall on the edge of town. People really friendly. The main downside is pollution, so the place is not really habitable all year round.

Seems to be a problem in every city around the world. Hadn't been to London for a few years and noticed the upsurge in homelessness immediately. Only positive about Thailand is that the general climate is favourable for a one man tent on the beach. It's a dreadful situation for anybody to have to deal with.

If you see Russia owned or managed businesses then it is probably criminal enterprises at work. I recall a few years ago seeing a number of Russian girls outside a club on Pattaya's walking street, clearly working there. Someone's getting paid off I guess?

His mafia ties go way back to his KGB days … Russia is a mafia state.

I think I’d just use an AirBnB. Condos don’t have a good reputation and it’s not easy to walk away if it turns out to be one that has bad tenants or poor maintenance. In Thailand, more fixed assets more problems.

I have no idea about that. However I did go to a dentist in central mall, Pattaya. On the upper floor. The lady was very experienced and did an excellent job. I’m pretty sure most dentists who advertise their practice online also show a bio, that includes qualifications. If you go to a back street operator you may be taking a risk.

Disabled man’s long tricycle journey to claim his disability allowance

Good for him, he’s already proved his resolve by surviving a fall from six floors, no mean feat. I hope he gets what he is due. -
Girl injured by classmate in Buriram schoolyard seeks justice

Bullying is bad enough, but hitting girls is a cowardly act. -
Putin is an autocrat and Russian nationalist. That’s how the communist dream ends, in dictatorship and oppression. He’s no more far left than the National Socialists in Germany were under Hitler, or the CCP is now. He’s systematically enriched himself and his cronies by plundering the nations wealth. And he’s trapped - if he ever loses power that will be taken off him and he’ll be suicided or dumped in the Gulag. He can never give up, and will never survive a loss in Ukraine. if he does survive expect more wars, in Europe.
-
Correct. The border issue has been linked to Ukraine funding in order to stop it. They couldn’t care less about the border, it’s a red herring to disguise their underlying objective … help Russia by denying Ukraine funding. Mike Johnson takes Russian linked funds.

Amazes me the state of the USA at present. In days gone by a Russian shill like Carlson would be ostracised and condemned. Putin’s war against the West began when he took over as President, the KGB never stopped whilst we were all under the illusion that the Cold War was over. The book “Putin’s People” by Catherine Belton is the best researched out there, and I’d recommend it to anyone. Trump met Putin, and left the room looking like Putin had him on a leash. Head bowed, like a servant. Carlson is on that same team. It’s a sad spectacle to watch … and a danger to our world. Kompromat at work would be my guess. The MAGA crowd have been brainwashed, it won’t end well.

A question to frequent/experienced flyers
AlexRich replied to ravip's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
It’s not that unusual. If you buy a cheap ticket there are very few inexpensive options if you decide to change the date of return flight. Many of the seats could be taken, so you are left with those on inflated prices. -
A matter of preference. Fine. But why?

The UK comedy talk show host Mrs Merton (played by Caroline Ahern) summed up the dilemma in a question to a guest. The guest was the very attractive Debbie McGhee who was married to the very unattractive TV magician by the name of Paul Daniels. The question: "Debbie, tell me, what first attracted you to the Millionaire Paul Daniels?" -
NSC to probe arrests of dissident Russian musicians in Phuket – Panpree
AlexRich replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
They are against the war and critics of the Government. Sending them back to Russia could have severe consequences for them. If Thailand wants them out, fair enough, but let them go to the country of their choosing.
