  1. Wikipedia has a list that is "probably" more authoritative. They only count people that stay in a city 24 hours. Not all that different a list. Hong Kong leads in that one, with three Thai cities in the top 20. Bangkok 2nd, Phuket No. 16, Pattaya at 19. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cities_by_international_visitors P.S. Edit: It seems to use 2019 data.
  2. It is not so empty. If you recall, the Thai opposition tried this last summer and almost pulled it off with 356 votes in support, falling just short of the 364 needed. Many senators -- I seem to recall about 75 -- shockingly voted to end their vote for the prime minister position. So some senators have a conscience, though they are under enormous pressure at the moment from the powers-that-be and might not vote the same way again. I believe one-third of the senate has to sign off on it, so 84 needed.
  3. Some people on this thread seem to be aware there were two events today involving the Constitutional Court. The first one related to shareholding of media shares. It was submitted too late to be considered by the court today and they only meet on Wednesdays, so that will look at it next week. So this one does not change Pita's MP status. The second event was on their agenda today and related to whether Move Forward's plan to change 112 was tantamount to trying to overthrow the monarchy. The court accepted this second one, so I think -- but am not sure -- that he is suspended due to this second event. https://www.reuters.com/world/asia-pacific/thai-court-decide-eligibility-case-pm-hopeful-pita-media-poll-body-source-2023-07-12/
  4. The executor of the estate also can be a beneficiary of the will, and often is. Many people will select one of their grown children to be their executor. Children are primarily the beneficiaries of parents' wills.
  5. I buy the Magnolia Half Cream product at Friendship Market. You can order it online from TOPS or Shopee, and probably elsewhere as well. Magnolia Half Cream
  6. Well said, a craftsman indeed. Such sad news. He had a great personality and his pizzas were delicious. I have enjoyed dozens. That black-white photo captured him where I usually saw him and placed an order—near Country Road in Jomtien. We called him last week to see if he would be out and about in Jomtien making pizzas that night, but he informed me that he was having stomach problems. I will miss him. He was quite the character.
  7. Thailand seems to do most of its burning earlier in the season. Fires now are mostly from Laos.
  8. And indeed, I was notified this evening (Sept 15) that I have an appointment on Sept 20 at Central Festival for the first Pfizer jab. So, they are still working through the list.
  9. Thanks for your update. I also registered on 25 August and have not heard back yet, but it sounds like I might still get that elusive first jab of Pfizer at Central Festival.
