♫ the fool on the hill...... throwing Gliders

Looking for a hill to throw a toy glider -
Did some gliding (sailplane) in Oz, loved it - had a weird idea to make a model one, but like nothing which exists now, and should get about 25% more distance... In the midst of making it, carbon fibre, 3D printing etc.... BUT.... will need to test. Looking for a grassy slope for testing - void of people and trees .... ie 1:10 ratio as glider I expect to be about 1:60 glide ratio. does anyone know where to find such a slope - within 2hrs drive from Bangkok ? Thanks A bit of fun, night crash and burn but had fun doing it. Taught myself Fusion 360 from scratch, and learning to print delicate parts taken lots of trial and error.

Going out on a limb here, but xx years back i remember at school welding with MIG and CO2.... or maybe it was just cheaper for students to use CO2
-
Cheers... lived here for 30 years, and read and speak Thai so no issue there. Yes... looking for someone better than my current guy to do some "precision" work welding 1.5mm stainless steel into little boxes
-
Sounds like a very farang attitude - everything Thailand is bad. Already have a guy who does 1mm stainless welding and i need precise stuff for a machine, just looking to see if can find better.
-
Anyone know in Bangkok where i can find a good TIG welder and / or a company that can make 2 stainless steel boxes about 120 x 30 x 130 mm from 1.5mm sheet? Thanks. Working on something which needs some precise work

Any Company in BKK can pull LAN cable through a house

Thanks !.... not a fan of mesh, prefer hard wired back haul. Really appreciate both you inputs. -
Probably best I can find is this https://calcdevice.com/forced-convection-of-inner-pipe-surface-id130.html
-
ok ...30 Deg C
-
Thanks... seen that one too..... but this does not cover 17" pipe, stainless steel, nor speed of air nor thickness of pipe
-
Thanks.... the question is not what's the exhaust temp of the air, rather how much heat loss would go through the pipe - realise they are both linked
-
Thanks - been on that web site and a gazillion others. the trick is the Hconv constant Hot air, 170 Deg C and 8 m/s
-
My head is spinning - anyone good at heat transfer calculations... ? Home work is tube / pipe 0.45m diameter, and length 1.5m, wall thickness 12mm Hot air 170 Deg C blows through 8m/s Stainless Steel How many Watt ( What ) can transfer through the pipe
-
Hahaha.... looks same ????

We need to move country for several years, and hard to take dogs. looking for a good home for Sandy. About 10 months old, and pretty much toilet trained unless she get so excited to see you. We paid 6k baht for her, but happy to give her to a loving home for free.

Hi, I used to go to Baan Khru Noi in Ratburana for many years, but I hear its closed down. Anyone one know of others ? I once went to one which had nice glossy brochures, did not even enter the place as obviously they had enough cash already. Thanks

Prayut To Be Held Accountable For His Deeds Over Last 9 Years: Pita
skippybangkok replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Taking bets on who will never become PM. Offering odds 10:1 Pita will not become PM ( nah - I don’t take bets , but am sure he won’t be ) You can’t take on the military, Prayuth, monopolies like alcohol and CP and still become PM Naive
