I suspect a lot of the energy behind this crusade against underage sex workers by the Thai police is to be sure Thailand receives a good report from the American sponsored agency that monitors Trafficking of People (TIP). The agency rates each country according to its efforts to stop domestic trafficking. They release an annual report and rate each country.
When the new government came to power in 2014, I believe Thailand received level three. They have since risen to a level 2. I understand The US will recommend sanctions against countries who they feel are not making adequate effort to combat human trafficking, not to mention publishing the name of suspect countries around the world.
Correct. They even plug the misleading words into the headlines of new articles to fit the American agenda. Thais will do anything to please America! The funny thing, however, is that Thailand has been trying for nearly ten years to improve their TIP ranking with very little success. Little do they know that America is playing them like a fiddle. They should limit their business with China and/or open a few US military basis in Thailand, then watch how their TIP ranking improves over night!

Is Mai Sai /Tachilek border open for crossing?
-
Is Myanmar open to tourism? Is a visa required for visits?
-
Also, what is the money requirement to have on person for land crossings?
-
How many land entries are you allowed per year into Thailand on visa exempt? How about on a tourist visa?
-
I need to extend a tourist visa in Pattaya. Is there any special documentation I need for this immigration office to do this?

one assumes that Thailand will have to comply with US and EU rules.
Indeed. Thailand is America's B**** in South East Asia!

"Anti-vaxxer" is a horrible term. Most if not all of these people have other vaccines and actually believe in the power of vaccinations, they just don't support the "covid" one.
Can we think of a better term?

It sounds like you don't understand that vaccination saves lives.
Oh, yah! Thanks.

No paranoia here! If it looks like a snare, feels like a snare, then it is!
They created day 5 to do exactly that. Catch ya!!! It is what it is!

Those ‘most infections’ which were caught on the second (day 5 test) were caught in Thailand on Day 1, 2, 3 and 4 !!!
Exactly! Are there statistics on how many tested positive on day 5? It would be nice to look at how many tourists got caught in this, obvious, Thai snare.

This is how it’ll happen though… taking the advise (which is logical) from outside gov so they can apportion blame if it goes wrong.Indeed. Maybe 100k/daily new local infections and they're overly concerned with a few travelers coming into the country. If they really were concerned, why not rapid test everyone who rides the BTS/MRT before everyday. Then throw those infected in isolation? It's all a joke at this point!

They've been working on this for like 7 years and have not improved. Maybe if they stopped doing so much business with China they would magically move up in rankings? Stupid Thais trying to play at the big table with the USA, and not knowing how the game actually works.

For vaccinated and uninfected travellers I can confirm no quarantine for Cambodia, not even 1 day. I arrived here yesterday from UK (via BKK) having decided that it was easier to visit Cambodia than Thailand. A negative PCR test was required before departure from the UK and there was a free of charge rapid test on arrival (are you listening Thailand?). No insurance needed for Cambodia, although $50,000 cover for Thailand was required JUST TO TRANSIT through BKK! My test result on arrival in Phnom Penh was negative & so I am now free to tour Cambodia without any restrictions. Transit in BKK was more of a hassle than arrival in PNH tbh. I get the impression that the Cambodian Government is trying to rescue the tourist industry. I do not get that impression from the Thai Government, rather that they are trying to create the impression that they are trying to do what Cambodia is actually doing.
which airlines are flying between cambodia and thailand?

Have fun.
Think the other 39,600,000 visitors that visited Thailand in 2019 will be making alternative arrangements as well.
Today Spain has removed vaccine restrictions for UK teenagers, saying how important the Brits are to their tourism industry.
Meanwhile, Thailand's answer to Pixie and Dixie dream up more looney tune track, trace, swab, imprison and extort schemes to ensure their added to every travel agents blacklist worldwide.
What are the countries with the most international tourists in 2021? Is there a new list somewhere?

So how does Thai law work when one foreigner hits another foreigner? Do the police even care? Does money have to exchange hands?

Let's not forget also that they killed the cash cow! As of now, they are not a nation of tourism. Forget about what they used to be. That is in the past.

What is more amazing is that they actually thought it would work! How out of touch are they with their previous tourism market of over 30mil/yearly? Do they not know anything about tourists? It makes me wonder, what do the Thai leaders really know about anything!

What other countries in the world now require tourist to be insured for covid-19 and have forced quarantine/hospitalization for positive covid tests, even if asymptomatic or mild symptoms?

Thank you for your report.
The hotel receipt required was from the hotel in Ranong? This receipt was for the nights you already spent at the hotel, or for future bookings on your way back into Ranong?
