  1. Does anyone please have an up to date address for the Chaiyaphum Immigration Office?  The address above above is still showing on google maps.  However I have seen an address near the Rajabhat University and there is something on Facebook which says.....At this time, Chaiyaphum immigration office moves to the temporary office at No.176, Village No.10, Chaiyaphum-Tadton Road, Na Fai Subdistrict, Mueang District, Chaiyaphum Province. (Opposite Choraka Resort). It is opened since 4 October 2021 onwards.   Which I cannot see the link or map as I am not on Facebook.

Does anyone know the true whereabouts?

    Thanks

I browse the net, watch videos, stream radio/music, update apps and Windows without any concerns. I do not download torrents or run my PC to autodownload gig's of files,  act as a server, or any other activities that might be considered abuse.  Other than that I have not run into any restrictions at all

    Thanks for the info

AIS prepaid has true unlimited. I use 4Mbps and get 720 P video. If you sign up for 6Mbps at 550 baht per month...you likely can get 1080p video.

I only use my laptop so cannot comment on TV but for me 720 is more than adequate but I know most people want to see the genital warts on actors privates so maybe need to test and see if it works for you.

How much do you use/abuse this?  I was looking at the 6Mbps 550 baht one.  Do they throttle the speed back if you abuse the 'Unlimited' access?

    Thanks

  4. Been with my Partner 2.5 years, while I was out of work she had a job and contributed all the time as all we had was my military pension.  She has never wasted money and is always the one that says "its too expensive".  I am back working now on a good wage and she still wont spend it unless she really needs to.  She is trustworthy and is great company whether sitting at home or out and about.  Very Happy

Do people actually think because they have a gripe with Thailand, the whole world is going to read their post and boycott Thailand. It's doing quite nicely tourist wise, it's not Iraq, Yemen or Somalia. Tourists actually can move around and see lots of things, places in relative safety. The story of someone being fined putting a dent in the tourist industry is just laughable.

That is why I put the coffee at the end, its called being sarcastic and having a dry sense of humour.

Maybe you should try it sometimes

How do you know its not Iraq?  Have you been?  Well I have, for 3 years and I am going back soon

Banks are not allowed to open an account for tourists.

Yes they are, can and will.  I have just opened two, a saving account with the Bangkok Bank can be opened on a tourist visa.  All I needed was a certified passport copy from my Embassy and the accounts were open at the Bangkok Bank Branch at Central Embassy.  It was painless

I have done 3 trips tp Savannakhet and I was never asked for proof of bank statements or onward travel from Thailand. I have a Kasikornbank account. Will the updated Passbook do as bank proof, not sure what I can do about onward travel? I'm going to Vientiane.

    Any help thanks.

I was there on the 30th Jan and they do ask now (at Savannakhet), I had a photocopy of my Bank book and the original (he asked to see it) which i updated the day I travelled

  8. I was at the Savannakhet Consulate yesterday, 30 Jan 2017. Still a lot of people turned away for 'not knowing'. I attached a copy of my bank book, flight details and my apartment agreement along with all the passport copies etc, and was then asked to produce the originals. Fortunately I had them with me.

  9. I have just opened two accounts in the Bangkok Bank using a UK Embassy Certified Copy of my passport.  When I was in the Embassy the lady at the  counter said that the UK Embassy and the Bangkok Bank have an arrangement that the Certified passport copy is enough to get an account.  She also stated that its not filtered down to all Branches (no shock there).  She advised the Branch at Central Embassy Shopping Complex, I went with my partner..all very painless

At the moment I am still on a tourist visa

  10. Yes I know its not furniture items but...

I have just brought some of my personal items in to Thailand and I have a tourist visa at the moment.  I used Transglobal in the UK and they in turn used FedEx for the shipment.  It was a one week door to door service and I shipped 110Kg in 4 boxes.  Bike gear, tools, and a Bose System amongst other things.

I shipped in my name and I put my partners as the receiver (thought it would be easier having a Thai contact on the paperwork)......that was my mistake.....I should have left in tin my name for the Tax purposes...However the Ladies at FedEx were great and changed the name on all the paperwork for me, charged me 1450 baht for the admin fee and I had to go to their offices at the Airport to give then a copy of my Visa and Passport.

They said if I had left my partners name on it then she would have incurred tax....as it happens I paid not tax at all and it sailed through customs.  I did take a bit longer than one week due to my mistake

Unlike our own governments who will know a Thai's underwear size before they're even allowed on the plane.

Yes that is possible true...but at least it only happens once and you don't have to repeat yourself every 90 days, you don't get the BiB or immigration coming round to check on you just to see if you are still there.  You don't get to become a social outcast just because you are a foreigner.   You don't get a whiff of someone wanting a backhander just to make things smoother for you.  Oh and guess what, once you get there generally you can work and have access to the health care system but most of all you do get treated like a human being with rights and left alone to live your life which is more that can be said of been here.

  12. When me and my partner went at the end of July I went to the counter with her and we said that we were together.  They were not happy as they said her name was quite popular so she was taken in a room for about 15 mins.  Asked questions and finger prints taken.  We did have travel insurance for her and we had our Airbnb address handy.  Once done they were happy.
