Bars are officially closed and according to media reports restaurants aren’t allowed to serve alcohol at all from tomorrow.omicron, so far, has been a quick wave everywhere elsewhere in the world. hopefully the shut down will be short, the schools will stay open and we'll all be enjoying a cold one again within a few weeks.

Yup 9pm should stop the covid spread. Cannot be spread during the day or up until that time. But between 9pm and midnight covid is rampant. Very very smart Govt. We are so lucky to have such great people watching over us. Amazing Thailand. Almost as smart a move as banning alcohol sales between 1 and 5pm in supermarkets. Pure genius.
can't stop the spread of covid but can curtail the infections caused by late night monger idiots jammed into keyhole bars.
because most will drink at home if the bars close at 9pm.
seriously, not rocket science, is it.

adding a takeaway pizza menu to the counter doesn't negate standing shoulder to shoulder with 300 maskless idiots knocking back beer for 6 hours.
because thats where we are (in hua hin anyway).

From 31 years personal experience any Thai girl that says she is connected usually isn't. They like to talk it up though. My family this and my family that.
All bravado.
When they find out who I know they soon keep quiet.

Get ready for rogue police to extort money from Retirement/ Married visa holders as they are aware of the vast sums of money those visa holders have in their bank accounts , at least most of them who jumped thru all the hoops for their visa.
The cops will know all the necessary info to find the visa holders and where the money is.
yeah good luck with that. most of the guys wifes i know, are well connected.
they can try.. but they better like pattani.

I know for a fact that Thai nationals testing positive for Omicron in Phuket are sent home to self isolate for 10 days.
I guess that farang Omicron is much more dangerous or it's a insurance scam. take your pick.
i'm not sure they'd be allowed on a plane back to their home.. in Sweden!

the fact this even needs to be implemented says all you need to know about safety in thailand

so can do the test at home and then good (to get hammered) for the next 3 days?
is there a way to tell how old the test is or could one just simply use the same one for a few weeks or more?
that could be a small issue ????

It is very easy! Much easier than buying stocks. It took me ages to set up etoro, who now actually sell crypto, in a very easy way.
yeah, financial institutions with robust protections are harder to open accounts with.
thats actually a good thing.

Earlier this year(January), I started a topic about what to buy, Bitcoin or Gold. More people then said buy gold!
Gold has gone down in value, Bitcoin has nearly doubled and had more than doubled a month ago.
It's easier than opening a bank account to open a Bitkub account.
golds a shiny metal i can buy at any gold store in thailand and take home with me. no more knowledge or accounts required.
now, whats a bitcoin wallet thingey again? hot, cold, software, desktop? and whats an exchange? which one of the hundreds out there? verification? how to fund? wire? card fees? seriously? so buy btc or eth or xrp or or or??? spreads? fees? and on and on..
ok i'm being pedantic but its NOT easier to own crypto, a lot of research needs to be done to feel confident in owning this asset class.
plus gold's a slow moving low risk asset it can't be compared.
a better comparison would be buy bitcoin or tesla?

could say the same of nearly every asset class on the planet right now.
how many all time highs has S&P hit this year? 71?
sure i get it. you love bitcoin. but its not the only game in town.
and different asset classes suit different risk/reward preferences.

most major cities in thailand? theres always part of the city thats been "left behind" then the developers move in, the elastic snaps and everyone wants a piece..
tip: buy on the edge of the development zone and look for unique features.
