  1. Maybe it's time to rebadge this page to 'The Month That Was' or should that be 'The Year That Was'. What happened? Did you get stoned and you missed it or something? I certainly do miss the weekly rave. After a 6 year break from late 2017 till now I'm headed back in July for a couple of months to see for myself how things have changed in southern Thailand and Peninsular Malaysia.
  2. Wonderful, thanks! Had all but given up all hope of seeing your weekly news again but just logged in for the first time since Xmas and delighted to see that you are back again.
  3. Looking like it's time for me to renew my passport and head back over after a 5 year break from the place. Things went downhill badly following the Coup and death of the old King as it became increasingly difficult to stay in the country for any longer than 60 days. Had thought I'd never venture back again and looked at Malaysia and Indonesia as easier visa friendly options. However recent events have given me hope that perhaps not all is lost! Thanks for writing a much better column than last episodes lackluster effort.
  4. This is my once a week look at this website. A very pleasant Sunday morning ritual thanks Rooster. The comments section is also very interesting to read, giving lots of insights into the minds of the average punter on this site. Thanks everyone!
  5. Ahh, I fondly remember the sleeper train journeys all around Thailand, Malaysia and VN! Stuck here in Oz, it costs me more than a return flight from OOL to KLIA or beyond for a slow train to almost any distant destination. Crappy sleepers here with strict rules and zero privacy are all you'll get if you're lucky. Another good read, thanks R. My weekly dose of Thailand always warmly welcomed. Cheers.
  6. Me too. Always a good read, and being stuck in Oz, I can only recall with fondness my 15 years of having made Thailand my second home B4 we got shut out of all Overseas travel.
