OP you want to buy aa hospital bed for under 10.000 baht dream on.

I use an electric hospital bed, and paid 49.000 baht for it 6 years ago.

I did see on FB a few days ago, a company selling hospital beds starting at around 22.000 baht, electric one 36.000 baht.

Send me your contact details, if interested and i will try to find it.

Yes we priced them across the street at the pharmacies for 10-12k for a basic model.   So used already we have found a couple in the 6-8k range in good shape, if a nice one can be found for 10-12 we will consider it.  You got the farang version I guess, my SO is thai so we are searching through her now and getting results thanks.

  2. What about Americans currently in Thailand?  I have a single entry non o so at the moment july 30th is looking like my exit due date.  If the US is still a restricted country will I be allowed back in as an American if I go get another non o visa at a neighboring country?  Will immigration be able to see based on my passport that I have not been to America in years and let me be with my family or do I need to camp out somewhere until Americans are off travel restrictions in Thailand?  Thanks all for your ideas on this

  3. Yeah I would bring a letter from mom, and copies of her ID and house book as well as your sons house book all signed by mom just to be safe.  I just flew with my half Thai baby and her mother but at immigration leaving Thailand mom went in a different line and didn’t wait for me, she was already around the corner when I got to the IO and they started to question me about it before I finally saw mom come back looking for us.

  4. I have gotten 3 non-o this year already for Thai child.   I have never needed to show 20k, the mothers original ID card, legal paperwork for legitimization or the original house book.  You do need the mothers and child’s copy of the house book both signed by the mother, have the mothers ID card copy signed by her also.  The original and a copy of the birth certificate, and of course your passport copies.  If you can have the mother write a short letter on the copy of her ID card saying you are the father and that you take care of your child and to please issue you a visa, I needed this in HCMC but not savanakhet this year. And your visa photos!

They have every intention of doing this and there is already a scramble over who will be licensed to do this. But it will not be something individual farmers will be allowed to do. The powers that be will control this lucrative enterprise and its profits.

Potential for making big money through export was a nig factor in legalization.

Only problem is that the market is being falsely propped up with speculation and empty promises.  Look at hemp farmers in the US.  Last year thousands of farmers switched to growing hemp, they are now having problems finding buyers and when they do they are getting half of the projected value of their crop.  Many farmers are switching back to conventional crops.  There is no infrastructure or demand to use all this hemp for food, clothing, fuel, etc... its all just hype.  The problem is that government and big business want hemp as a cash crop and are focused only on money but society for the most part wants good quality medicine and a legal recreational market.  Thailand will never have an export market with their current policy and approach.

  6. The stuff the they are prescribing as thc oil is absolutely bunk.  It is garbage and the op got high off his homegrown bud and not the oil 100% positive.  The legal “medicine” out now has 0 medicinal value.  This whole legalization is about making money not providing excellent quality medical cannabis to sick people and it is showing in the terrible quality product out now.  The people saying it works are just clueless or are under some serious placebo effect.  Even the cbd oil out now is pure junk.

I gave up diving in the Gulf. Will not do it anymore. After a dozen dives, all with under three meters of visibility, I will only dive in the Andaman, NW Bali, or other spots. Life is just too short for such utter mediocrity. Sorry guys. Got to tell it like it is.

I dove recently in Koh kood with some visibility in the 7 meter range but day to day it varied and other times vis was more like the 3 meters you mention.

Andaman is great for a cheap liveaboard and the chance to dive with the big boys like whale sharks and giant mantas but the real gems are in Indonesia.  Any diver here in Thailand needs to plan a trip to raja ampat, it will make you understand what a healthy ecosystem looks like.  Bunaken and lembeh too but raja is on a whole other level.

  8. Hahaha high quality strains!   1%thc and 1%cbd does not make for good medicinal marijuana.  The stuff that Thailand is growing is complete junk and will have little to no medicinal value.  They are shooting themselves in the foot if they are going to study patients given this garbage.  There is so much information and so many good strains available around the world that Thailand is just ignoring.  Thailand will never be able to capitalize on medical marijuana tourism or exporting cannabis because they will have an inferior product

I have read you must be married or have child "registered" to be considered father in Thailand.

"If you are not married and you have not voluntarily gone to Court/Amphoe to have child registered stating you as the father, then you are not the father in Thai law.  Even if your name is on the birth certificate."

BTW: Do you pay child support?

This is incorrect information, I only have my name on the birth certificate and never went to court or any administrative office to be legally recognized as the father.  I’ve gotten non O visas in Laos and Vietnam and never have seen or heard of needing registration from Thai authority or courts.

In in terms of making decisions for the child then you would be correct in that I would need to be registered through the courts as being a legal guardian and parent of the child.

If you cannot get the required documents from here then you would not be able to apply for the non-o visa or 60 day extension.

Some of the problems can be overcome though if you have a copy of the birth certificate. A Amphoe would certify the copy and attach a print out of the birth registration to it

With a copy of the birth certificate you could also get a printout of your child's house book registry that would be accepted. You do not need copies of their mother's house book or ID card.

Your child has to be with you when you apply for a 60 day extension to visit your child. If they are with you the application can be done at at the designated office for where you are living with proof of residence. There is no requirement to do it where the house book registry is for.

I’ve been told directly by immigration in Chiang Mai that they will not issue me an extension on my non o single entry for Thai child unless I am making significant progress toward the year long extension requirements.  I was told that only under very specific circumstances such as needing one more month to get the total 400k in your bank account or missing an item or two from the crazy long list of one year extension requirements.  If your not pursuing the one year extension they won’t give a 60 day extension.  This is my experience over the last year with Chiang Mai and non o single entry for Thai child.  So I just go every 3 months to a se Asia country do my thing and come back.  The extra 60 days would be great but I haven’t gotten one yet

Savannakhet is a good location for a single entry non-o visa based upon being the parent of a Thai.

Penang will issue a multiple entry non-o visa if you can show 400k bhat or proof of 40k baht income.

Does the 40k bAht income need to be from a third party or would me just transferring at least that much every month from my US bank to my Thai bank be enough?  I just show my bank book with the deposit history?

    thanks for the reply

That's wrong. If you are applying as a parent - unlike applying as a spouse - there is no requirement to keep the funds in your account for 2 months.

    Police order;

"In the case of parents, the father or mother must maintain an average annual income of no less than Baht 40,000 per month throughout the year or must have deposited funds of no less than Baht 400,000 to cover expenses for one year."

How am I wrong when the woman at immigration specifically told me that they would not accept the monthly deposit and the only way was having 400k in the bank for at least two months before they would give me a year extension?

and I was quoted 50k for the legal work

  13. Hello all,

so I have a current non o (90 day as a parent to Thai child) from Vientiane however I would like to go somewhere else this time around.  Chiang Mai immigration told me I can NOT extend based on monthly deposits to my Bangkok bank account and instead need the 400k to sit there for at least two months, I would also need to legally pursue guardianship of my child who lives with me and I take care of already.  I know that legal work expensive as well and I just don’t want to invest that much money here for an extension.  Savanakhet always gets good praise it seems, Penang or somewhere in Cambodia maybe?  Anyone that has gotten a non o recently for being a parent to a Thai kid I would greatly appreciate hearing your experience/advice.  I’m fine with just another single entry but if longer term visa is available I would jump at the chance.  Thanks all.

  14. Dude you are 31 and talking about wanting a relationship with a hooker?  How about just have fun with the bar girls until you meet a nice university girl to date.  I’ve never been asked for a “salary” from the Thai girls I’ve been with because I don’t pursue relationships with prostitutes. Calm your nerves and keep your emotions in check for a while when you do move here.

Did you wai the immigration officer?

If you don't they sometimes give you the runaround just out of spite.

Yes I did, the lady was just not interested in helping.  She knew she was screwing me over big time with it being Friday afternoon.  I explained I had a kid, bought my tickets home already, and I have a 5 yr Thai drivers license with my current passport number on it.  I don’t think I could have done anything different I just have to hope this is resolved Tuesday.  The American embassy after hours hotline was equally unhelpful, basically saying someone needs to see me in person to verify my identity.  It all is rather ridiculous as I feel like it is an obvious error which can be deduced from just looking at my visa stamps and the transfer stamp.  Also thai immigration wrote USED on the non o visa I got yesterday in Vientiane even though I was never admitted to Thailand so I’m pretty sure they won’t honor that when I do finally return.  It’s complete rubbish and has left a real bad taste in my mouth about staying in Thailand.
