Just to clarify for others, I am guessing what you are saying is that either an agent got you an appointment at Central Festival or you stopped by at Central Festival and they gave you one (if it's the latter, say so as that might help others). I was simply trying to point out that online appointments are not available at the Central Festival office.
  2. Please advise how you got an appointment at the Central Festival office. To my knowledge, there's only one appointment website and that's only for appointments at the main CM immigration office.
  3. It just happens, it seems, for no reason. An online rejection I received referenced a TM30 problem (because a hotel in Hua HIn filed the usual TM30 for me. I went and filed the TM47 in person without a comment about the TM30 but I later had to "update" my TM30 filing to use the online system again. This happened in spite of the current police rules saying a filing/update was not needed given I returned to my TM30 registered address. Then, in early February of this year, another online application was rejected and specified that "Incorrect entry date upon entry into the kingdom/ Incorrect visa expiration date." Simply untrue....both dates were correct and I filed the TM47 in person the next day without a problem (using the same form they email back when acknowledging one's filing....with the exact same information they rejected before). I have no clue who gets, reads, and decides the online TM47 filings (I'm in Chiangmai) but it's my best guess that whoever it is just made a mistake, applied their own rules, didn't know the rules, or was just having a bad day.
  4. At the drive-through, all you need to present is your passport and a completed TM47 form. I presume (but don't know) that it's the same for those walking up to the window you mention.
  5. The only reason I did the drive-up window deal last week is that the online TM 47 system rejected my online filing. But the email rejection specifically said that it was rejected because "Incorrect entry date upon entry into the kingdom/Incorrect visa expiration date." Neither case was true and I used the very TM47 form they send you when acknowledging your filing(with the same "incorrect" entry date and/or "incorrect" visa expiration date) at the drive-up window without a question or problem. I have no clue who reads (miss-reads?) the online filings. A year or two ago they also rejected a TM47 online filing due to a hotel outside of Chiangmai Province filing a TM30 for me (again, as stated before, they aren't following their own rules) but I then just filed the TM47 in person then without a problem or question; however, before I could use the TM47 online filing system again, I had to go to the back TM30 building and have them "update" my filing (which, like you, meant simply handing them only my passport and telling them what happened.....and they quickly played with their computer and inserted a new TM30 Receipt of Notification in my passport). After that, I had no problem using the online TM47 filing....well, until the bogus rejection last week mentioned above.

With respect to the TM30 update issue, last week I did the 90-day report via the drive-up window and nothing was said/needed with respect to updating my TM30 Receipt of Notification (although I've been out of the country for a few days a couple months ago.....and last November stayed in a hotel in Hua Hin which in fact filed the usual TM30 for me as a guest there). Under the police regulations issued in June of 2020, it specifically says that there's no need to refile anything if you've stayed elsewhere in Thailand or if you re-entered Thailand with a re-entry permit....so long as you return to your TM30 registered address; however, as you've experienced, whether a given officer (or office?) follows the latest TM30 rules is a hit or miss experience. With respect to TM47 (90-day) filings, one can do that online or by mail from just about anywhere; however, some Immigration offices won't let you do it in person in a province in which your TM30 address is not registered.

You'll need to complete the form "Transfer Stamp to New Passport" and you'll need: (1) Photocopy of your photo page of your new passport (and any pages with any stamps), and (2) Photocopy of your old passport photo page and at least a photocopy of every page in the old passport with Thai stamps. I say "at least" as I've had it done twice and one of the times they insisted on a photocopy of every page of the old passport even those with stamps from other countries. Once they also requested a photocopy of my TM30 Receipt of Notification. Neither time was I required to furnish a copy of the TM47 Receipt of Notification but read somewhere that somebody else was required to present a photocopy of same. And, of course, sign (blue ink) all the photocopies, the transfer form, and might as well neatly print your telephone number near your signature on the transfer form (they may or may not ask for the telephone number). Edit: If my memory is correct, I just went directly to the window to the right of the general info/whatever desk in front of the entry door (i.e., I didn't have to get pre-clearance either time but who knows what's happening nowadays).
  8. If you are leaving from the international side at CNX, the re-entry desk will be open. That's always been the case.
  9. Can understand the frustration with the system. I too went to Laos January 8th and returned to Chiangmai on January 12th.....and had my 90-day filing rejected a couple of days ago; however, the rejection email to me did list a reason for the rejection: "Incorrect entry date upon entry into the kingdom/Incorrect visa expiration date." That alleged reason was wrong as my information was exactly correct.....and I used the exact same form (the one they email you back) and information yesterday for filing in person at CM Immigration without a hitch or question. Thankfully, I used the drive-thru window and the filing took less than 5 minutes. I have no clue where the online filings go but whoever rejected my filing miss-read his/her computer screen and/or was having a bad day.
  10. At least here in Chiangmai, the bank letter showing the current amount is required to show the exact same amount as your bank passbook at the time of application.....so, at least here in CM, you'd need to do your update (small deposit) first and not after the bank letter is issued.
  11. The appointment system here in CM only goes out 90 days. Have checked (for retirement purposes) a bit the last month or two and it seems that all time slots are filled except for the 90th day out and one or two slots a day or two before then.. Checked a few minutes ago and the only open slots were one on June 21st and four on June 24th (which will probably be taken within hours). Reminds me of the prior online appointment system (which I think was 100 days) and one had to grab a time slot shortly after midnight 100 days out or even those last slots were filled in less than an hour.
  12. You indicated the poster said he got 400 days although you didn't say that his stamp had 400 days written on it (instead of the usual one-year deal). Did the poster you refer to obtain a singular 400-day extension stamp?

  14. Rather silly to speculate when the only fact out there is that some poster somewhere said something in a post. Annual renewals based on retirement or marriage are for one year and the only exception I'm aware of is when that is shortened due to a passport expiration during that one-year time period. However, back on February 27th of 2009, I went to Immigration in Hua Hin to see about converting my Tourist Visa to a Non-O visa and ask about a one-year extension based on retirement; as it turned out (and all this happened in about 45 minutes) they marked my Tourist visa as "Used", stamped in a 90-day Non-O Immigrant Visa which they also marked as "Used", stamped in a stay permit based on the Non-O expiring on May 27, 2009, and stamped in another stay permit expiring on May 27, 2010 (which didn't specify retirement but I presume that's what it was).......so effectively I was given 455 days of permission to stay that same day. An odd event, for sure, and I have no clue if any Immigration office nowadays would do the same. (Edited as I incorrectly listed the 2010 date as 2020)
  15. Although off topic from your original post, I question your assumption that "nothing is assessable." Presuming (as you later stated in another post) that you transfer funds from the US to Thailand, presuming you are a "tax resident" here (meaning you live here 180+ days a year), and presuming Thai authorities figure out a way to actually verify the amount of incoming funds and how to enforce their so-called new tax law, it may very well be that we foreigners may be taxed on all incoming funds unless we can prove that we are entirely or partially saved by various rules (general exemptions under Thai tax law, prohibitions provided by a given tax treaty, and/or an offset for taxes paid in our home countries).
  16. Just checked the online appointment calendar and: (1) Seems there is one slot open at this very moment on April 15th and several on May 14th (which is 90th day out). (2) Every time I've checked since they brought back the appointment system (in last 2 years?), the maximum time out has been 90 days (under the prior system, you could make an appointment much farther out). Looks like either that almost all the available time slots have been spoken for or perhaps there's currently a glitch in the system.

  19. Not sure about need but (1) the US (and current administration) provides no security for Harry and his family, and (2) Harry's spokesman has been quoted in the past as saying that Harry would not ask the US to provide same.
  20. I've used the same forms for 2+ years....I don't think they've changed the forms since this requirement started a few years back. And, here in CM, there's no lovely photograph of the applicant and form. Get and fill out the forms before you see the officer as they typically will send you away to get them. Edit: OP's post is about CM Immigration so adding info about what other offices require maybe only adds confusion. We all know different provinces (and even sometimes different officers within the same office) have different rules/practices.

With respect to CM Immigration, would note the following with respect to Tyler's list above: (1) I have always gotten the bank letter and bankbook update the day before applying for a new annual extension based on retirement. I've understood you can do this up to 7 days before the date of application but I know for sure that the day before has never been a problem. I also have added or subtracted a 100 plus or minus baht from the account then as I've read other immigration offices require that (I have no clue if CM Immigration actually requires this....they never did for years). (2) The 12-month deal has been around in CM for at least a couple of years. Fortunately, I use SCB for the 800k and can get the statement the day before application. (3) Yes, a copy of your current TM30 Receipt of Notification is required (or printout from your condo or whatever that they filed it) is required. (4) This past December, I was required to provide a copy of my original Non-O (in my case, it was a copy of the passport page transferring that information into my newest passport). (5) They didn't require a copy of my latest TM47 Receipt of Notification (although I had it on hand). (6) Not sure about Tyler items 8-10. I lease and only provide a copy of the latest annual lease. (7) Also, for at least the last couple of years, required to provide filled out completed penalty forms (one is titled "Acknowledgment of Terms and Conditions for Permit of Temporary Stay in the Kingdom of Thailand" and the other is titled "The Acknowledgment of Penalties for a Visa Overstay."). I print the ones I have on my computer but those forms are available outside near where they pre-check documents.
  22. Sorry. Yes, at Central Festival there's a sign in the office which says re-entry permits must be applied for before a certain time (I believe it was 11AM or at least it was this past December). I'm not aware of a time limitation for re-entry permits at the main office.

  24. That's the only "change" I see, a change so minor that it's hard to believe any IO would reject use of the so-called "old" one. I submitted (in Chiangmai) an older TM7 (one that is editable and I filled out on my computer) 2 months ago and there was no problem with using that form (one with the three lines below the reasons for extension). Several years back, they made a change to the form (adding only the handicap language on the back of the form) and afterwards required one to use that "new" form.
  25. If by chance you have a Samsung phone, go to Settings, then hit SIM manager, and if you have a Add eSIM option, you're all set. I would guess other phones have something similar.
