    A few months back wife bought 12 for a section of our border wall / side of the house walkway.  Plant shops will have different sizes you can purchase and its easy to control the height once planted.  Ours are about 1.2 meters high, and receive no direct sunlight.   Nice looking plant/tree, slight eucalyptus smell that is supposed to fend off the mozzies (or so we were told by a neighbor).   In PKK these sell for 50THB and up depending on size, the 1.2m were 150 THB each.

    Hi,

    I have a side of my house that never gets any direct sunlight (though it's pretty bright... just no direct sunlight.)

     

    Can anyone recommend some good bushes or shrubs that will live well in this area?  Looking for some hedge bushes which we'll keep to less than 1 meter high, and also a couple taller, narrow bushes for the corners, that we'll keep to 2-3 meters high.

     

    Any advice would be great! (Thai plant names would help so I can ask at the markets).

    Hence you do not need to drag any fiber around your home for True. Instead, get high quality LAN cables (CAT5E/6/7/8) for internet, and standard coaxial cables to wherever you would have TV sets/set top boxes, and you'll be covered.

    Ahh... this is different than I was getting from the replies here.  I will go in and talk to True (though the people int he shops often don't seem to know what they're talking about).

    Thanks all for your replies.

     

    So, I think the consensus is that if you have True Visions via fiber from the street, you don't need fiber to each point where a TV box will be.  Just LAN or good wifi will do it.

     

    In the current house (BKK), cable comes in from the street, is split and connects to each TV Box via coax.  When we had an issue with one box, True told us we should upgrade to fiber as they will phase out the cable in areas where the fiber is available.

     

    The new house is certainly being hard wired with CAT6 cable to multiple points, including those where the True Visions TV Boxes will be.  So: fiber to the where True's modem/router will be, then LAN for the rest.  This should be true for this True Visions TV package: https://www.truevisions.info/platinum-hd.

    Then you connect the True TV box (or multiple...) to your router, either by wifi or regular RJ45 ethernet cable.

    Thank you!  I didn't know that True TV boxes were just connected over the LAN and don't have their own fiber lines.  Our current house still uses True cable, and they ran ugly coax cable to each TV box, tacked to the walls.  It looks pretty terrible.

    True Vision Fiber Cable Specification

    Hi All,

     

    We're building a new house, and plan to eventually have True Visions fiber (for TV) at a couple points in the house.  I want to pre-install the fiber cable to the TV points (as I don't want True technicians having to run cable in a finished house and tacking it to the walls the way they do... yuck).  Of course it's too difficult to get them to come and partially install now in a half finished house.

     

    So my question is, what type of Fiber Cable is True Vision using?  Is there any specific specification/brand?  I'm assuming it is FTTx.  I found cable for sale here... FTTx2C that says it's True compatible.

     

    If anyone has any advice or experience here, that would be great!

    Aggregate Exterior Flooring

    Hi,

     

    Can anyone suggest where to find an aggregate concrete (or epoxy) floor coating for exterior concrete surfaces (like pool decks, porch, etc)?  Similar to the pool deck in the photo attached here.

     

    I'd like to do this myself, but having trouble locating a product to use for it.

    Entering on Thailand Pass with PCR test (not RT-PCR)

    Hi All,

     

    Friend has an approved Thailand Pass for BKK Test and Go.  He's having difficulty finding an RT-PCR testing service before his departure.

     

    He can get (has already actually) a PCR test (not RT-PCR).

     

    According the the FAQ on the Thailand Pass website here, a standard PCR is acceptable.  It says:

    "Please note that similar testing techniques including PCR, qPCR and RT-qPCR are also accepted."

     

    Has anyone else had experience entering with a standard PCR test?  It should be OK, correct?

    Thailand Pass System Issue? (Checking Status)

    Hi,

     

    Just want to see if anyone else is experiencing any problems with the Thailand Pass system at the moment.

     

    Yesterday, registered for Thailand Pass and everything went fine.  Got the access code in the confirmation email.  Yesterday, immediately went to check the status, and the system found the information, and showed the status as "Under Review" (as expected).

     

    However, this morning, trying to check status with the same access code and information, I only get an error message saying "The information is not registered."

     

    Is anyone else experiencing this issue?  The call center numbers don't answer.

    test and go - morchana app

    I downloaded it after Test and Go before leaving the hotel, thinking I had to upload the ATK photo after 7 days.  There is no way to upload anything within the app, or any notification to do so.

     

    The only real function it has is a QR code scanner that I guess you're supposed to use when you go into the mall, the supermarket, etc.  On that feature it says "Record Contact and Estimate Risk".

     

    Anyway, it doesn't seem like many people are using it.

    Thailand Pass - Can I use the same pass twice?

    Hi,

     

    I've got a valid Thailand Pass.  I traveled overseas for one week and have since returned to Thailand on my Thailand Pass, following all the procedures.  No issues.

     

    My Thailand Pass shows an Expire Date of 10-Feb-2022.

     

    I will travel out of Thailand again for another week or so in December.  Do I need to get a new Thailand Pass, or can I use the same one?  The officials at the airport will make sure I have the SHA+ hotel booked and such, so it feels like it should be OK to use the current, valid Thailand Pass.

     

    I wasn't able to find anything on the FAQ on this question.

     

    If anyone has any experience with this I'd appreciate some advice.
