It is precisely because of overuse in the past. People were obviously caning the connection with Torrents etc and utilising huge amounts of data.

So now they are releasing limited promotions, available for a month or two. The promotion codes are put out via their distributors and to anyone who calls.

Obviously, not so convenient to keep changing their web pages with these short term promotions.

    Thanks .

Its a shame that there’s no online option to check to see if there are any new AIS package / limited promotion offers other than making repeated telephone calls to the AIS call centre .

  2. More AIS package options from the AIS lady ????

The first package 30 days *777*7211#  is a promotion that ends at the end of this month.

The second package 30 days *777*9064# can be used for 3 months ( not sure if the package would automatically renew its self )

The AIS lady said these two packages were also not shown on the AIS web site ????

While talking to the lady who's command of English was good . I made the comment to her that it seemed AIS wants to hide many of its sim card packages from their customers / potential new customers . I never really got involved much with sorting out mobile phone sim card packages and options until I arrived in Thailand , and I'm still at a loss to understand why this sort of thing is going on ( AIS ) , why would you not show every option you have to your customers on your business web site ????

  3. Well I had a phone call from the same AIS Call centre lady saying she forgot to tell me that if I subscribed to the 6am – 6pm for 30 days price 319.93  - Baht package and did not switch off my mobile phone at 6pm , and continued to use the internet connection then I would be charged 49 Baht extra until midnight that day.

While I was talking to the AIS lady I asked the question ( which I forgot to ask in our previous phone conversation )

I have an AIS sim card was registered on the 25th of February 2019 , Can I use that sim card to subscribe to any of the AIS internet packages she had sent me an SMS about , She yes that I could. I then asked her about the AIS recent rule about not allowing AIS sim cards registered after the 1st of February to subscribe to a range of internet packages. The AIS lady said that was correct but with the packages she had informed me about via  SMS , there would be no problems.

The other question I asked was , can I use my AIS sim card in my mobile phone and activate the phone's Hot Spot option . She said yes as long as there were no more that 10 ???? connected devices to the phones Hot Spot connection.

  4. Just talked with an AIS call centre lady to confirm the details about my current AIS package . She happened to mention that there were 3 internet packages the offer unlimited data ( GB ) and no speed throttling and with a 10 Mbps speed.

She said that there were no details of these packages shown on the AIS web site ????  but she would send me 3 individual SMS messages . The packages seem to be 24 hour time related .

    1. 6am – 6pm for 30 days price 319.93  - Baht  ( all including VAT )

    2. 6am – 3pm for 30 days price 266.43 - Baht

    3. Midnight – 9am for 212.93 – Baht

( see screen shots from my mobile telephone )

Sorry if this has been posted before ????

Any one using any of these options ?

  5. Just an update

I recently subscribed to an AIS 6Mbps 7 day package for 189 Baht just to see how it worked out , I used the package every day for the full 7 days , watching youtube videos , downloading content and torrenting ( using a VPN ) . The download speed was around a constant 6Mbps with no data restrictions.

My wife subscribed to an AIS 6Mbps 1 day package on her mobile phone , after she paid and subscribed she received an SMS ( see blue screen shot ) the message says that for now the 6Mbps 1 day package has no data restriction or speed throttling , but after the 1st of July 2019 that package will have a data cap of 1.5 GB and be speed throttled to 128kbps .

I believe all major banks can do this,it was quick and

  7. Not sure if its the same thing or helps.  I have a Bank of Ayudhya ( Krungsri ) Mee Tae Dai saving account that I use for immigration purposes , the account is in my sole name , but I went with my wife to the bank and asked to have her signature added to that account so she can have full access if some thing happens to me . Only one signature is required ( her’s or mine ) to make a withdrawal . I all so have internet access to that account and my wife can access that option as well.

The limited data, capped speed Marathon SIM(and refill prices) were posted by mtls2005 at the end of April

Ok for some if you can stay within their limits. But you can literally use up 20 GB in twelve hours on a 4 Mbps connection.

    I have a current AIS 6Mbps / 6 month package that has a 25 GB data restriction , I used 25 GB up in just 10 days ☹️

I got something that I dont want to bother you with details. But I could better have bought a simple tablet\

in a proper shop for about up to 2000 Baht.

So now I am spending so much time in the process of returning this thing.

It is a long and time consuming process.

And then I ask myself how and when will I meet my money back.

The lesson I learned? It is obvious.

If you have any piece of advice - I'll be glad to have.

From looking at the information for the item you purchased show below in the link

     https://www.lazada.co.th/products/alldocube-iwork-10-pro-tablet-2-in-1-101-ips-screen-atom-x5-z8350-quad-core-dual-os-4gb64gb-black-i300888638-s518510997.html?spm=a2o4m.searchlist.list.4.5d803a9ebaPWiX&search=1

The sales description seems to show that a keyboard is included in the sales price , and the sales photographs clearly indicate a keyboard with the tablet . I cannot see any where on the actual items sales information a reference to the 2 in 1 tablet not including a keyboard .

May be the 2 in 1 , which I would personally think as a tablet screen + a keyboard , in fact refers to the 2 operating systems in 1 unit.

The only reference I can see to a keyboard is shown in Thai language in the ask questions area ( see screen shot - using Google Translate )

    25GB per month.

    Thanks ,

On this last 6Mbps / 6 month package the subscription info is

    Mao 1800B 25GB speed 6Mbps 6 months
    Signup date : 21 May 2019 14:08:59
    Usage cycle : 21 May 2019 - 21 June 2019

So I was thinking that ok , today is the first of June so its a new month and I should be getting another 25GB , but when I checked online my package this morning , it was still showing .........

Internet 0 KBAfter used up, continue usage at reduced speed based on your package., valid until 21 June 2019 14:09:01

But after looking again I think that the next 25GB allowance  will be on the .... 21 June at 14:08:59 ( one month from the start of the subscription date )

Do you think I have got that right ?

Also today I subscribed to another '' Test '' package , just to see if it had any GB restrictions or speed throttling - its is a Mao On-Top  6Mbps 7 day UL priced at 189 Bat ( inc VAT ) package . ( see screen shot ) . This package seems to have no GB restrictions or speed throttling penalties and the speeds seem correct .

    Thanks

You'll probably note that there is no mention of throttling on the six and twelve month packages either. So you could get a refund on the same basis if you try that out too.

Though it probably won't work and you won't know how much the package anyway.

    Thanks

How do you interpret the package shown in the screen shot

    1. 6Mbps for 6 months duration with a 25GB cap each month ( so if you use 25GB before 1 month is finished , you will get a new 25GB amount in the following month and this continues for the 6 month duration of the package

    2. 6Mbps for 6 months duration with a 25GB total cap for the 6 month period , so as soon as you have used up 25GB , thats it for remainder of the 6 month package period , no more 25GB allowance.

    Thanks

    Thanks

Ive followed the AIS link you kindly provided

    https://m.ais.co.th/ontop-package-myais

and I now can see a different option ( please see screen shot ) which seems to not show any details about a data cap / speed throttling , the only thing that concerns me is this , if I click the confirm button , will it then subscribe me to the package , but include a 25GB data cap / speed throttling ( even though nothing is shown on the web page about a data cap / throttling . Knowing my luck it will .

    Thanks

    695.50

    481.50

Thanks for taking the time to reply

I’m not sure where I’m going wrong but when I look at the AIS 1 month / 6Mbps On – Top Package
Its showing the 25 GB cap / 128kbps throttling option , and not as the AIS call canter lady described
(  no GB data restrictions or speed throttling . (  see screen shot )

Can you please tell me where I am going wrong ?

As long as you can transceive on the 850 MHz wave band, you can utilise the My by CAT service.

Bear in mind that DTAC still have truly unlimited capped speed packages, though I don't know if there is a cut-off date for their SIMs.

They might still have 10 Mbps over 90 days for 1391 baht available.

AIS currently only have unlimited 1 Mbps available over six and twelve months. AFAIK.

    Thanks again

    I am using a  D-Link DWR-921 4G LTE 10/100 150Mbp/s 3/4G Router with a built in SIM card slot .

And looking at the spec sheet for this router it can use the following MHz wave bands ( see screen shot )

So it looks like my wireless router should be ok to use the CAT option.

About an hour ago I had a telephone call from the same AIS call canter lady I spoke to last night , she said that to subscribe to the free  4Mbps 7 day package , I would have to take my AIS sim card out of my wifi router and place it in a mobile phone , then she gave me a code that I have to send from the mobile phone that would then activate the free 4Mbps 7 day package .

In all of our telephone conversation last night I never told her that I had my AIS sim card installed in my home stand alone wifi router , so how did she know that my AIS sim card was in a router and not in a mobile phone with the hotspot option enabled.

I did in our telephone conversation today again ask her what options I had to subscribe to an AIS internet package that would offer no GB data restrictions or speed throttling , she again said the only option for me would be to subscribe to a pre paid monthly package ..

    6Mbps @ 990 Baht per month
    4Mbps @ 695 Baht per month
    2Mbps @ 481 Baht per month

I have searched the AIS web site but as yet failed to find any of these exact packages shown above as talked about by the AIS lady .

As my AIS 6Mbps / 6 month current package is currently being throttled down in speed, I thought I would try on the same AIS sim card, by adding a test package ….. 3G Internet 99 Baht 1 GB for 15 days .

When this package was activated I did a speed test ( see screen shot ) and was amazed at the results.

Marathon packages are six months and over. So limited data no matter when SIM was registered.

    Thanks

So currently the CAT packages (  6Mbps / 4Mbps / 1 Mbps ) shown on their web site are all unlimited and have no GB data restrictions or speed throttling . I wonder how long it will be before CAT imposes the same restrictions that the other providers have now imposed . I'm going to call in at my nearest CAT shop and ask about their 6Mbps 6 month unlimited package , but I'm not feeling to confident about the outcome .

On my AIS control panel for the AIS sim I have recently extended another 6 month 6Mbps option,  it now shows that I used up the 25GB allowance in 10 days , and now the package is being throttled ( see screen shot ) . Now after the 25GB cap has come into effect and the speed has been throttled down , just trying to surf the internet is painful . I live out in the sticks and to far away for cable / telephone land line internet options , so using a mobile phone sim card is my only option , and looking at the available '' unlimited '' no cap monthly options they all seem to be expensive ( AIS 6Mbps unlimited 1 month 990 Baht ) compared to my old unlimited AIS 6Mbps / 6 Month cost of 1,800 Baht.

Last night I did telephone the AIS call canter and spoke to a lady ( very good English ) and she confirmed about activating a sim card after ( she said the 1st of February ) and how the packages were now capped and speed throttled , she said my only option now if I want unlimited no cap / no speed throttling , was to subscribe to a monthly package. ( it seems apart from a 1Mbps 6 month / year package ? )  I did say that I had been using my current AIS sim card for over 2 years , and was it possible to some how grandfather my sim card so I could still have an '' unlimited '' option , she said no.

She then put me on hold and came back to say as I was upset and a long time AIS customer she would activate a bonus of 4Mbps 7 day package for free.

    Thanks

That is the state of play now for AIS Marathon packages.

Your choices are now http://www.mybycat.com/th/PrePay.php?package=90_แพ็กเกจเสริม-my-เน็ตเพลิน-1,-4,-6-Mbps or https://www.lazada.co.th/products/sim-true-4g-4mbps-i276375772-s441307656.htm

Thanks for that , just a thought .

Have I got this correct , If you register a new AIS sim card after march the 1st of March 2019 then you can only get an internet unlimited data package that will have a cap restriction and after you have reached the cap GB size , the speed will drop for the remainder of the package duration .

If your AIS sim card was registered before the 1st of March 2019 and its been in continuing use ( in my case over 2 years )  then you once again purchase another unlimited data package for that sim card , say a 6 months duration package , then as the sim card was registered before the 1st of March 2019 ,  any new unlimited data package you purchase would not have any cap restrictions or speed throttling .   Have I got this correct , if not where is my thinking going wrong ?

    Thanks

  17.

Ive been using the AIS 6Mbps / 6 Month duration option for the last 2 years and it never said any thing about being restricted to a GB amount that can be used , its always been unlimited and a constant 6Mbps .

I recently extended that same package for a further 6 months and the new extension was registered ok. I thought no more about it until I just signed into my online AIS control panel for the AIS SIM card that I use for the same package.

Now I see that it looks like the same unlimited 6 month duration has a limit of 25GB unlimited usage and after that amount has been used up the speed will drop down .

And the SIM card has been constantly active for over 2 years ☹️
