You wife will need to be with you when you apply.
Normal is marriage certificate and a copy of it, copies of your wife's house book registry and ID card.
A completed TM7 form with a 4 X 6 photo attached. Copies of passport photo page, visa, entry stamp and TM6 departure card.
Proof that you are living in Bangkok will be required.
how much for it?

I'm on non-o multi because I like to travel anyway. I'm considering putting 400K in the bank and getting an extension. I was waiting for the government to force my hand but it seems the virus will do it.
You can extend your permission of stay of 60 days at any immigration office with a non -O- Multiple entry.

Copy first page passport signed.
TM7 - know your last entry date into Thailand??
Original and updated KR 2
Affidavit freedom to marry. Because why not?
If your wife has done a name change. Differs from house book. You need that certificate perhaps. You will making an extension.
If you do have the 400k. Update the book, make a copy. Bring the book. Can't hurt.
Good luck
Why if you don't know just keep your hands in your pockets? Seriously.

People worry too much, Chinese guy round the corner has the same non imm O visa as me with employment prohibited stamped on it. He has been going out to work daily for the past 8 years!
In the non -O- there is no "employment prohibited" stamp...

It is $35 US or 1500 baht. The 1500 baht has been the same for many years.
It seems you applied outside normal working hours and they charged you 40 baht ($1 US) for overtime.
was 3PM roughly...

What is the price for the VOA to LAOS at Mukdahan crossing? I remember last year the won't accept my 35US and they forced me to pay 1540THB but I just checked and now 35US are roughly 1100THB... Anybody been there recently?

you can apply at any immigration office, while providing a valid reason for the extension.
they will consider your application and if approved you will pay and get the notation in the passport done in front of you.
they will extend no problem... Stop scaring people off

Did just this a two months ago. Save time queuing for immigration booth as they will only tell you to go to office. Go straight to the office on left hand side of booths. Show both passports they will do the transfer and stamp you out.
This in Mukdahan?

You do not need to do a stamp transfer at immigration since you only have a entry from a visa. You will show both passports on departure from the country and they will transfer your entry stamp from you old passport to the new one and stamp you out of the country in it.

So this is the situation:
- Passport is full, I hve multiple entry NON O Visa that is already expired but I'm stamped until the 13th of September
- On the 9th of September I've got appointment to get the new passport at my embassy, they will release the passport on sight
It is OK to just go to Mukdahan and cross the border showing OLD passport and stamp the NEW one to go to Sawannakhet and get a new visa or I need to go to some immigration office to do some extra stuff?
Thanks in advance.

I can recall a report of Hanoi want financial proof.
Several good reports for Ho Chi Min City. No proof needed.
The letter from the wife plus the normal marriage certificate, signed copies of house book and ID card.
but honestly do you think the situation is that bad in Sawannakhet nowadays??
-
how is the situation in Hanoi or Ho Chi Min City? just the wife letter will be enough?

They might issue a new visa after canceling the old one.
Why do you want to apply 4 months before your visa expires. You will lose almost 7 months of total stay (4 months plus 90 days) from your visa by doing that.
can be that the OP needs to leave the country for a period and he won't be able to be back in Thailand before the actual visa expiring... Just my thought...

Just to say in conclusion that picking up my passport was fine and with the correct visa. 5 minutes, no waiting as I turned up as the gate was opened at 2 pm. Bigger queue formed behind me than previous morning so I guess quite a few went along well after the gate opened the previous morning. Tuk tuk guy picked me up from Aura hotel, as I agreed with him the previous day,, waited whilst I collected passport, then on to Friendship Bridge and border, 200 baht. Caught 2:45 bus back to Thai border. Full, standing room only. If you can take a pre completed Thai entry card, it will save time and avoid risk of being sent to the back of the queue! Parking the car Thai side cost me 500 baht for the 2 nights/ 3 days. A bit steep I thought.
I enjoyed the trip!!
so still no proof of founds needed right?

It may turn out to be a fairly short term solution for a permanent stayer like yourself. . The 'no financials required for a Non O visa' is an obvious gap in the system that the Thais can plug easily and I image that they are already on to it. It may still end up being a lot less onerous than the other alternatives for proving sufficient income, bit it can only get more difficult, not less.
Envy, what a beast...
