I'm not sure what everyone else's thoughts are on this subject but I'm just finding it way too long between Owls posts and he needs to up his game and start posting a similar amount of content on a daily basis. Thanks for reading.

Only Villa did well in Europe last week.
Yes, did you see the interesting anomaly with the yellow cards Owl? Villa goalkeeper had a second yellow after the 1st or 2nd pen of the penalty shootout but didn't get sent off. Apparently cards don't carry over from the game into the penalty shootout, they give them a fresh start as they don't want to be sending a goalie off for leaving his goal line when facing a penalty in the shootout should he have had one during the game.
As for the Owls, I have precipice fatigue, oh for a season in mid table. My nerves are shot.

Dear me!
How wrong can ya be? A goal feast at Pool? No way. Palace all the way. Irons well beaten at home by Cottagers. And Arsenal outgunned at home by Villa.
Have the reds of Liverpool and London just handed the title to blue Manchester?
Bayer Leverkusen win the German Bundesliga with 5 games to go.
Fair play to the Palace lads, some brilliant defending in there but the amount of chances Liverpool had I still can't see how they didn't score. Having said that, I'm pleased they did'n't as I don't like them.😀

The mods tend not to touch this thread. Down the years it's been pretty broad and civil in nature. As long as it's in my diary; it's OK. And footy is on page 3.
Hope to have some work done to the new water towers at the farm this week. Everything is in place, except the steels that have not yet been got down from the old water tower. TBH, I'm not up to all that climbing about 8 metres in the air any more. Best left to others. But that means delays.
Tell me about it, I have a roof leak at home but can't now get in the loft. Have to rely on roofers and phone pics.

Wot!! English footy off topic?
And a well earned, battling point at home against the Canaries.
I did forecast a while back that it world be Rothers, Brum and one other to leave the Championship. Gonna be tight.
Well yeah, I did have one removed a bit since, maybe the mod was being a tad over zealous or he'd seen his <deleted>.

The ups and downs in the top two divisions are exciting for sure. Owls won away.
Slightly off topic but we play Norwich tonight Owl, bit of a mile stone as it's our 5,000 league game.

Indeed! The Ladies have their own link.
So the 4-0 (not as I said 4-1) friendly comes before Ranger v Celtic in importance. Just a joke.
Good away win by Owls. Great finale to the season; all round.
I wasn't expecting much after last weeks performance at Boro to be honest, some looked to not be trying. Then a rumour about players coming out of contract and a few upset as negotiations hadn't been opened at least. Then one or two removed from the squad and the manager refusing to say why and an improved performance and a deserved win, looked a totally different side from just a week ago.
Norwich up next on Tuesday I think, then Stoke. It's roll the dice time, could go either way, probably to the last game. Great footy isn't it.

Spot on Owl, considering their level is around a boys under 16 team why not include all the boys fixtures in there as well starting with the, er lets say the under 10's. These people are just trying to manipulate minds into thinking the same way as their own bent logic.

Yesterday morning, me and Mildred were on our way to Ban Dung. As we left the village, it was obvious that something serious had occured. I stopped the mazza, and took a couple of shots. Not wanting to intrude, we made our way to Ban Dung to get some items.
When we were back, at the same spot, it was deathly quiet. Not a soul anywhere.
Arrived home. Mrs Owl didn't know anything, but the guy opposite did, and told her the whole sad story. Then it was told to me. I must say; I shed a tear. As did Mildred.
Three kids of 7 and 8 - 2 boys, one girl - had drowned in a newly dug pond, at the back of the house in the pics. A forth kid - who didn't go into the pond - realised they were in trouble and went to get help. Too late to save the three children.
Full Owl Log later.
Gutted for all concerned, RIP little ones.

Said there was no water where we wanted to drill and suggested another place in the garden about 10 meters away. I just think that he wanted to drill somwhere that was easier to get in with his truck. Claimed the place he recommended was a water channel. Haven't made my mind up but don't really believe in the accuracy of divining after reading studies on it.
Always the same init. Everytime you want a job doing and get someone in to price it, you have an idea what you want and some bloke comes in to tell you that you're wrong and that you need this other thing which makes it easier for him.
I had it a couple of years ago with a new bathroom with one bloke, who didn't get the job. I ultimately stuck to my guns and got what I wanted from someone else. They just want the easiest way. Whatever happened to giving the customer what he wants.

Actually that season 1951/52 was a cracker for goals. The Owls were so, so unpredictable. When they ran onto the pitch, we didn't know what was to occur. A 3-3, 7-3, 0-6. Great time to watch footy**. They were promoted that season scoring a whopping 100 goals. Let a few in too. Blades and Rotherham scored 18 goals against them in the league encounters. Anyway, it was up with the big boys from then on?! But they struggled, and finished lower each season, until going down in 55. But they bounced back, and regained their top flight spot the following season. But down again in 57/58. True to form; they came up again the following year. they were certainly the 'yo-yo' club.
** It was all about attacking with 5 across the front. Two devilish wingers putting in those crosses. Our game stayed like that until the Hungarians taught us a lesson. What was it now? 7-1 and 6-3.
But back to The Owls. They did something unforgivable in 1959. The Irons were top of the league after 18 matches. Next up was The Owls. We went to Hillsborough on that cold November day to put the hosts to the sword. We got smashed; 7-0. Dear me!! Irons finished well down the table in 14th in the end, and all because of that day; 28th November 1959. I hated that day for years.
I didn't start going regularly until 1963 when I got my first season ticket, that cost £5 and the season after it increased to £6 and 6 shilings. How things have changed. Seen many a game at Hillsborough but few really stand out but one of them was against the hammers. The Owls won 5-0 but what made it stand out as a game was Chris Waddle tormenting David Burrows all afternoon, Waddle was on fire. David Burrows eventually finished up at Hillsborough as well. That was in Decenber 1993.

We were discussing an event in 1979 but Owl went off on one of his tangents and a couple of years earlier we finished up in 1951.😀

7-3 to the Blades. It wasn't the Owl's best month as two weeks later Rotherham put 5 past them. Could dish out the goals also. they put put 6 in the net; without reply, three times that season. Hull, Notts County and my beloved Irons were all well done up like kippers by the rampant Owls in that 1951/52 season..
Ah, before I was born Owl. You confused me when you said a couple of years, should have read a couple of decades.😂

A couple of years? I can't remember that one. I've been watching Wednesday since 1963 and I've racked my brains trying to remember it. The Boxing Day Massacre is part of the folklore now, but surely if a 7-3 to the grunters was a couple of years prior to 79 they'd surely have reminded us of it. And I'm sure I'd have remembered it as well.

There were 49k+ at the match between Owls and Blades in 1979. But I do recall a monster crowd at Villa Park one year. 57k sticks in me mind. I'll do some investigation.
Wouldn't know about the Villa Park game Owl, I've always understood it to be the game at Hillsborough on that Boxing Day, commonly referred to as the Boxing Day Massacre. Be interesting to find out the truth though.
Just as an aside, would you happen to know the score at that game at Hillsborough in 1979? I mean, the attendance is a nice to have, but ultimately it's all about the result isn't it?

I'm not giving you the prize Owl. Arsenal were runners up three years on the trot.
The only club to have three third place finishes in a row was;;;;;;;;;;; wait for it;;; Sheffield Wednesday 1931-33.
Just as a side dish. 4 clubs have done the triple in being runners-up. PNE 1891 -93. United 47-49. Peacocks 70-72. And the Gunners - as you said - 98-01.
Whoops, sorry Owl, my bad. I obviously read that wrong, sorry.

Arsenal, but I had to look it up.

Owl was right. 6-0 to Tractors.
Can't imagine what the manager was thinking there, all on him that one. 4 at the back, 2 in midfield and 4 up front away to one of the best sides in the league.
Videos work fine BTW, great to see the bus in full swing.
