  1. Hi….Can anyone recommend an Opthomologist. Prefer Pattaya but would be willing to travel to Bangkok. Thanks!
  2. It would seem that further raids at BJ home(s) will not be necessary for now…….perhaps next year about this same time.
  3. Please be cautious in any swimming pool, particularly older pools in Thailand. The port (normally isolated) used to vacuum (high negative pressure) is very often located on a vertical wall on the pool. In newer pools it’s inside the skimmer receptacle (much safer). If someone forgets to close the port after a cleaning ……swimmers can be seriously injured. I always check this port when in an unfamiliar pool - and yes twice I have found this port operating.
  4. Well played bashing! No big words utilized (not too surprising)……but impressive use of CAPS and “ “ marks. Hope it felt good!
  5. Actually no, at least not at Pattaya DLT…….but they did some years ago.
  6. You seem quite obtuse…..reviewing a test result to improve your understanding is hardly the same as what you suggest.
  7. Now, at Pattaya at least, this cannot be done……and DLT staff won’t assist!
  8. Good to learn of a better experience - thumbs up Nong Khai - and another finger for Pattaya DLT!
  9. Certainly you can…….I simply won’t.
  10. Yes, your experience matches mine (from about 8 years ago)….but now they do not show which questions were incorrect …..and worse, when asked for that insight, they say NO!! Farcical! Good News……just learned my staff guy FINALLY passed the car computer test……no thanks to the warm-hearted folks at the Land Transport Office!!!!!!!
  11. Thanks, yes he has been studying these Q/A but can’t figure out where he’s going wrong - wouldn’t it be nice/reasonable to know which questions were answered incorrectly!
  12. My staff guy has now taken the computer test (at Pattaya Land Transport Office) 4 times …….each time he has correctly answered 43 or 44 of the total 50 questions (45 are required). Each time he has pleaded with the “diligent” staff to help him…..by showing him which questions were answered wrongly. These folks couldn’t be bothered! They refused every time. What an operation! Great service for a guy trying to do “the right thing”! BTW he passed the separate motorbike computer test - hard to understand why there are 2 different tests now. Only one test some years back.
  13. My brother-in-law is a monk. When he needs medical attention my wife and I must help. The Temple leadership informed my wife the Temple provides no help. I can’t help but wonder what happens to monks, in need, who have no family for support. Seems like a very strange system indeed!
  14. Well …..good to know so many neighbors seem to appreciate the darkness of the “Darkside”. The other “dark” implication (besides safety) of these failing (relatively) new street lights is the possible/likely corruption associated with purchasing/installing lights which quickly go belly up.
  15. I’m sure I am not the only “Darkside” resident to note the ever increasing failure of the relatively new street lights. If it didn’t have safety implications it would be laughable - an appalling situation truly.
  16. I bought a Covid policy ($100,000) which expires 3 October - but I need duration through 30 January 2023 for another trip. Can I purchase another policy to extend coverage through 30 Jan 2023 and provide the 2 insurance certificates for entry? I am not sure I can upload 2 certificates. i can’t seem to find answer and phone calls go unanswered thus far. Thanks
  17. I remain confused on 1 point please: Upon my return to my home in Thailand (international trip) - if I test positive with no symptoms - can I quarantine at my home or will I be forced to quarantine elsewhere. Thanks
  18. Hey KhunJeff Thanks for the “Recovery Certificate” information - I will give it a shot. For your amusement…..I contacted Bangkok Hospital Pattaya (where I have used various services for years) for help obtaining “Recovery Certificate”…..but they said unless I had been treated by them for my mild Covid infection they would NOT get any assistance from BHP. This after being told not to come to the hospital with mild/no symptoms. A wonderful organization…..aaargh!
  19. I am facing the same issue - having had a mild and “unreported” C infection in Thailand I may very well test positive with required ATK or PCR test. (Both tests require hospital or lab endorsement.). Does anyone know if a “Recovery Certificate” can be obtained in Thailand? Apparently such documents are issued in USA and Europe to aid travelers who are recovered but likely to test positive.
  20. That is very helpful, thanks for providing. Obviously I spoke to a FAKE customer service representative.
  21. Many have posted something along the following……..Lazada has a good return policy so what are you complaining about? Well I am glad you are happy with the return policy but, if you notice in my post, I wanted to confirm the policy with Lazada by contacting Customer Service. Again, I was told that I could NOT return anything based on it being a FAKE. Thought it might be nice to share but…..
  22. Normally I pay in advance (small priced items) but decided to do COD for 1 higher priced item. I suspected the item was FAKE. I thought I could examine the item before paying the driver - but learned that this is not possible. Lazada customer service explained that if I had paid the driver and then determined the item was FAKE…..this would not support getting a refund. They explained only LazMall items are guaranteed to be genuine!! So everything on their site, except LazMall items, if FAKE, are the buyer’s problem. Wow! I would think long and hard before ordering any higher priced item from Lazada. “It’s a FAKE well we are sorry for the inconvenience……but no return/refund for FAKES.” Caveat emptor as always eh?
  23. For now, as a practical matter, this announcement means nada. To obtain a COE (I am in process)………Thai embassies have no new guidance from Bangkok ….7 day ASQ booking or Sandbox approach still REQUIRED for permission to “plan” for Thailand arrival in early November. TIT
  24. Attempting to obtain a COE in the USA (fully vaccinated) I have learned (from Thai Embassy DC) that the government announcement of NO quarantine as of 1 November is NOT formalized. They have no idea when/if this will be formalized. Bottom line if you need a COE in sufficient time for an early November arrival - submit your ASQ booking for 7 days (and the many other required documents). Why am I not surprised? Could be a real + for arrival numbers.
