Well if you can’t adapt to Thai rules and the way of life and the procedure for legal paperwork off you go to Cambodia....kindly shut the door on the way out...

Unfortunately for you, you are not in position to decide anything for me, so I do what I want, and I could even pay and elite visa because 500k is kind of free for me. So as you can see, the one who will first shut he door behind him is you, not me...

It doesn't cover preventative medicine, so no free check ups. But it does cover illness and accident.

Payment is around 500bht/month (cheaper if you start young, more if you start old) but once in you can keep up the payments for live no matter what your employment status.

It isn't government hospital, or private hospital but an intermediate level of hospital, you get to choose from a list.

Some government and private hospitals participate, your choice from the list.

But anybody can use it ? Even someone who never worked in Thailand ?

What kind of business or personal matters?  Thanks.

After you've been in the system for a year, if you become ineligible for soc security through work you can pay 432 baht a month on your own and keep the health benefits.

    They cover pre-existing health issues.

There is a retirement plan within soc sec.

Is it the same price for a Thai who does not work ? How much to pay monthly ?

    Thank you.

    He is doing the following:

    • Once every 12-15 months, he is applying for a multiple entry Non O visa at a consulate outside Thailand (perhaps, Savannakhet).
    • Every 90 days, he is doing a border hop to get a new 90-day permission to stay

This approach means that he never needs to visit an immigration office to request an extension.

And before that I was 15 years on a tourist visa !

Love the rules here ! they are so easy to fuxx ! Only people who follow them get troubles !

Your Visa is for 'visiting' Thai wife, not for 'staying' in Thailand, so you could be accused of circumventing the system, by not using your Visa for the purpose it was issued.

If your Immigration office enforces the requirement to submit a new TM30 after re-entering the Country, then you should be complying every 3 months. You should check with their requirements. You are also 'reporting' to Immigration every 3 months whether you like it or not.

One of the differences having an extension of 'stay' based on marriage (not to 'visit' as per a Non Imm O ME) is that my 90 day reports can be filed by post, online or by another person. Should I not comply, at worst I receive a 2,000 baht fine for 'late' filing.

In your situation, if you were sick, or somehow otherwise unable to make your 90 day trip, you are on 'overstay' having no other means, or persons to make the trip on your behalf/

I comply with what I want and certainly not with stupid rules. Yes, I have something between my legs that many foreigners seem to miss in this country. And yes, I also don't care to have to leave the country if the rats are becoming too noisy.

    What kind of problems?

I am on my 10th extension of stay based upon marriage and have had no problems.

Yes and you perfectly read all the posts from the people who had to spend a full day at least at immigration for something that should be done in 10 mns.

I also do not like that any uniform visits me or even speaks to me when I have not decided.

Life is so much easier by just leaving the country for a short trip 4 times a years. I never and will never report anything, better live in Cambodia.

Burger Map is practically empty whenever I pass by (often) apart from the Russian owners and a few of their friends. I fear it is not going to be around too long. Opening hours have gradually been reduced from 24 to 15 in less than 12 months. I have only eaten breakfast there a couple of times and it was below average.

Clearly ridiculous people who didn't plan anything with a brain before opening their restaurant. I guess that the only reason why it is still open is that they still have a lot of money to wash...

The only review in English on Trip is the one that will kill them.

I guess that other reviews in Russian have been posted by the owner and his friends.

  8. Hello, among the cheap steak restaurant, can you tell me if any sell an acceptable grilled chicken breast ? It seems to really depend on the restaurant: so many times they serve a very bad oily and fat chicken, but sometimes (even at street restaurants) it happened that the chicken breast was perfect as I would do it at home (no fat/no oil/no bone).

What are the places where they sell cheap chicken steak at Pattaya ? Jeffer ? Santafe ? And maybe some in the streets (location?)

    Thank you.

i have used several Thai public hospitals over the last 10 years...apart from the waiting time(perhaps on 10% of my time) I have only praise how well they are run.

Remember Thais are "morning people" so they get to the hospital well before opening time. Try going mid afternoon and the place is empty of patients.

our Amphur has approx 20,000 adults and 1 public hospital. The only private clinics available are closed during the day as those doctors are working in the Public hospitals. Every Tuesday morning is the Diabetic clinic and the place is humming, again mid afternoon it is empty.

Last week I had my medical for extending my work permit...blood test ,urine test, chest xray, and a brief talk with the doctor. Went at 3pm, in out 30 minutes cost 500 baht.....wonderful.

    Cheers BAYBOY?

It's far to be always true !

Sometimes the queue is so long that if you do not show in the morning they won't give you any queue ticket !

True story  -  my farang neighbor had a motorcycle accident, drove into a huge hole in the middle of the street at night - Ambulance came and took him to a Hospital in Chon Buri, his accident was in Jomtien - they kept him for 2 nights and 3 days - he felt fine, so asked when he could go home, they said five more days , he called his GF and told her to call the hospital and tell them his insurance had expired and he had no money - they released him that day .... his story not mine.  When she asked why they took him to the Chon Buri hospital, the company said "thats our hospital, we take all farang there" :post-4641-1156694572:

When it's not a life emergency (or even...) ambulances bring you to the hospital that pay them the most, of course private. So anybody with a brain who is not in coma must tell that he wants to go to a public hospital.
