Turning left into Makro fron lane 2 of 4.
How else would he get in that Makro entrance,. The bike rear ended him..........ergo, only person at fault.
Unfortunately as often, a lack of foresight, this time by Makro. The entrance is very narrow and should have been at least twice the width so that trailers could enter from the left lane not the middle and this should be rectified.

were you on a footpath or walking on the road?
Are you joking. A footpath on Soi Buakao!! There is a 100 meter raised one at Tree Town - taken over- and a small one at Klang end. Otherwise they don't exist.

Putting that aside, and no travel insurance, what i do not understand is why truck insurance is not paying? Why police are not forcing truck owner to pay?
So far we only have one version of the accident. Possibly the truck driver was not at fault.

4 pages of replies so far exclusively about vaccination which is either free or cheap.
Requirement number 2 of covid insurance is much more onerous and expensive especially for the over 75s.

What if the police re-assemble the gun and find that it has been already used in a murder/assassination? Rightly or wrongly he would be in deep trouble.

Strong fire safety laws?
I was shocked to learn that Smoke Detectors are not required in apartments unless the building is more than 6 stories high
(Apparently on the theory that jumping from a 6th floor or lower window is safe).
That's a tall story

Spare a thought for the bar girls who normally start around 4 or 5 pm on salary (if lucky) around half the legal minimum. Many are only freelance and get income from tips/lady drinks only. At 4 am surely desperate to sleep.

when the requirement was $20k you could get a 30 day policy (which is all you need to meet entry requirements) for 650THB so I doubt a family of 4 spending >100k THB on flights alone would balk at spending an extra 2,600 THB
I believe the “barrier” is the hassles in getting the Thailand pass, make it automatic & immediate & lots more people will visit
When I filled in my Thai Pass in November last the requirement had been reduced to $50.000. The insurance came through for $100.000. I paid from memory around B4. 300 per month from Thai company. I'm well into my 80s.
It would be helpful if posters stated their age when quoting on this subject.

Dr Taveesin says cases are rising in tourist areas where alcohol is allowed.
Double whammy. Blame the tourist (falang?) and booze. Two birds one stone.

I don't like the use of the word "checkpoints" for ATK covid tests. They've been static and voluntary up to now.

And if the target is only high end ones, there are limited number of that category that would come to Thailand. most of them head west.
Indians won't come unless the girls offer "buy one, get one (guy) free"

In the meantime Denmark has cancelled every law or regulation concerning covid. Back to prior covid times.
They only ask that the population take care but can decide for themselves.

Your take away from this whole story is what someone wears ???
Of course not! My main views have been outlined repeatedly no need to repeat again ad nauseum. Just an observation of farang behaviour.

It's extremely impolite to attend a funeral in Thailand wearing shorts, in fact anywhere as far as I know.

They should take a trip to Sianoukville before deciding on building casinos.

It must have been a big hole to make a heavily laden truck jerk so hard.
How many deaths and accidents do they cause by drivers hitting or swerving suddenly to avoid them? Yet the authorities responsible seem to view them as unimportant and not urgent. Part of the blame for this death lies with them.

I wonder what the positive case figure would be had there been daily testing of 2 million people as in the UK?

It will not result in herd immunity, but just act like a common cold with no real danger to health - which is not troublesome. It does protect against the Delta variant according to scientific research in S Africa. so Delta will be displaced. While still active, Delta does not protect us from Omicron, though.
Also, for those with natural immunity after recovering from Delta or Beta or Alpha, there is little concern from Omicron if all of us get infected as it is a milder variant, that doesn't attack our lungs according to scientific research, and our T cells antibodies are still there to oppose it. Likewise those with jabs are protected from serious illness, not from being infected at some point in time.
The only concern, IMO, is that unhealthy people could swamp the hospitals for a few days or more - and for governments, that is not good news - so they will aim to lockdown until Omicron cases stop spiking. Do not fear it...
"Do not fear it"
I wonder if the 334 uk residents who died of covid (Tuesdays figures) didn't fear it?

Nearly every Thai I know would take him back in a heartbeat.
He is still loved and remembered for bringing in the free (B30) health care scheme. It lifted up the worrying fear of having to sell up homes and land when (mainly) parents were hospitalised.

Ditto. I was told about this by the boss at my bar last night. I told her straight that she would not be seeing me until the lunacy has returned to it's normal level.
It IS at it's normal level.

Any mention of Pot Holes being the root cause of any of the accidents.
Absolutely. So many times have motorbikes and even cars abruptly swerved in front of me to avoid potholes. One of my biggest fears rarely mentioned is motorbikes without lights. Mainly rear but often front. Police seem to think this is not important. Strikes fear when an overtaking one approaches. Even have seen one or two with red headlight. Crazy.risks.
Those in Pattaya welcome Chinese police in Thailand

Many countries have complained about "unofficial" Chinese police stations in their countries. Are they here already.
I can't see Chinese tourists welcoming them since I understand that groups must put up with "minders" or "monitors" from the CCP already.
