  1. 100% agree with you in the fact that I would just say OK not possible and thank you for the information. Meanwhile I would then register online as I did and many others have done and not mention it to im. Especially as I don't believe they told you they wouldn't accept an online version. This would be a different matter completely. I'm definitely not here to antagonise io's and I wouldn't think of arguing with them especially in the office as we all know how that would go. Normally most info can be found on here or online. I would always prefer to gain info by myself.
  2. Yes you can register as a tenant no problem as others have reported before. It differentiates between the person registering and the Tennant. You as a tenant can register and then add your landlord as the property owner with the address. Literally done it a couple of weeks ago. Just need passport, rental agreement from your side to register in the system then landlord ID and house book copy from them to register the address. I got all the info from a previous thread. Just make sure you download a copy of the new TM30 as soon as it's done (there is now an update where you can download rather than a screen print) as I believe it only stays in the system to download for 7 days. Also with all due respect we all know that you can speak to 2 or 3 different im officers and get 2,3 even 4 different answers so they are not always correct.
  3. Yes they are still issuing non o 90 day single entry for parent/marriage without financial proof. I was there last week. Also I was not asked about the 10/20k at the border. Still very easy to get this type of visa, for now at least.
  4. I got a non o 90 day parent of Thai child last week and mother didn't need to be present. Only time she needed to be there is when I extended inside Thailand. No surprises and all docs needed on their website where correct. Only thing I would do differently next time is pay the 500 baht to get to the front of the queue. But to be honest I'll probably try a different embassy next time as there is sweet f a to do in Savannakhet.
  5. It's perfect, they'll never have to admit loss of face or what they've done and just carry on regardless come Jan 1st.
  6. I'm nearly 100% certain that nothing will be said and it will just appear in the gazette. Ostrich head in the sand, we've told you all what has changed now just give us your money and be happy.
  7. Any colour you like if it means I can live here in peace without concerning myself with, is someone gonna get their grubby little mits on my coin. I mean if it's my decision then fair game and I deserve what I get but otherwise they can keep their hands to themselves. Actually I'm partial to the pink ones too 🤣
  8. Exactly and unfortunately we are all at the mercy of their interpretation which has literally just changed a 40 odd year tax rule 🤣 If no further documentation has been released by next month they've got no hope or maybe we've got no hope. It's like they had a few beers one night, decided they wanted some more of the folding stuff and announced this hairbrain idea while they where still half cut. Now they're in it up to their necks and can't get out.
  9. I guess that's my point, if it is earned in UAE it has been assessed, the assessment was that the rate of tax is 0% it's not like you're earning it there and not declaring it there, it's been through the tax system. So by rights you have paid all applicable taxes before it is remitted into Thailand which you would have a tax cert, accounts etc to show this. Just because UAE has a 0% tax shouldn't mean that you get taxed again in Thailand. No ones getting anything for their tax payment, no easier road to residency, no ability to own land, nothing, zip a big fat zero. Honestly they must think we have marshmallows between our ears. TIT!!!!
  10. So what would happen in this situation. You have all your finance dealings in Dubai and your taxes have been assessed and deemed to be 0% (still possible to get 0% even with the new corporate tax) because they have been assessed and deemed 0% would this then mean that there would be no tax to pay in Thailand? I had a look at the dta with Thailand and UAE, pages and pages of headaches but I did find a few bits of info that would suggest that if you have your business interests there (all your financial dealings) then that would go towards UAE having priority over Thailand. Also you need to be in country for 90 days within a calendar year and this gives you tax residency there. If you where to live the remainder of the year in Thailand you would obviously be classed as tax resident in Thailand also. But because all your finances are in Dubai this would give Dubai the right over any taxes? Which have been deemed 0% and "assessed" I'm sure people who have been used to 0% from UAE from which they get their money, dividends, interest savings etc from would not be willing to go to the strongest tax bracket in Thai tax because of this half sentence change in the tax law. This is such bs, I've just confused myself with that I've written ffs! Anyway I hope someone gets what I trying to say 😤
  11. So basically nothing has changed regarding the current year earned and remitted the following year which I thought was the loophole they where trying to close but clearly the hiso/higher up's/money men have made sure that stays. Lol TIT
  12. The retirement one I'm not sure about as I would go for the dependant, sorry. I know not related but I have later found out that you can't get an annual dependant from Savannakhet only marriage but can still get the single dependant which still gives about 5 months with extension.
  13. Could I ask, if you are travelling alone with your half Thai child who obviously has a Thai passport, without your wife. Is it possible to use the Thai lane on entering Thailand. Thanks.
  14. So just to confirm @BritTim you can do an extension of a tourist visa and then extend a second time for a family extension after that as I think that's what @craftyonewas asking.
