  1. Stay away from Kok river or you are likely to get one!
  2. If only all of the Brits and Yanks held this same attitude towards all the illegal immigrants currently invading our home country borders, instead of kow towing, bending over backwards and ass kissing the hundreds of thousands of visa less, passport less filth at tax payers expense! A leaf out of Thailand's books might be somewhere good to begin.
  3. Hope this is the correct forum for this, looking for a nit of help here. Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction. A while back (months) I bought a shed load of western (British mainly) online from a guy that I think came from Chiang Rai - I lost all my contact details for him, but I think he went by the nickname Irish Pat - he sold many different meat pies and bakery items. I have tried Google but cannot find anything - I believe that he traded under maybe his wife's name, something like Amy or Anne or Annie bakery. I am almost 100% sure that they were from Chiang Rai. I have tried the usual, Villa and Corner shop but I don't think it is anything to do with them. If anyone has any info for this guy and his business I would be grateful thanks!
  4. When did you try to book? I did mine a couple of weeks ago, booked online a couple of weeks before that. Not sure how you think you van book that far in advance, normally they let you book online about 1 month before, no way could I ever book 100 or 145 days in advance. (You used to have to sit up until midnight 30 days before you wanted the queue appointment as they were usually fully booked in a few minutes 30 days ahead. This year had been the easiest to get an appointment, could pick almost any day within the 30 days, and about 4 appointments per day - I thought the site wasn't working as normally it is full) Something has definitely changed, you are correct, the marriage extension has disappeared from their site. I'd give it a week and see if it changes back again, they probably arsed something up on the site and might put it right once they wake up )don't hold your breath) The Lamphun site is still offering all of the marriage appointments, got to be something to do with the incompetence at CM - These people amaze me, they spend years in a total mess, they eventually get a system that works then go and totally F@#$ it up again! I checked the Lamphun site and it is the same as CM used to be, you can only select the current month or next month, there is no option to book anything further than April.
  5. They are damn pretty quick off the mark when the price increases though!
  6. Nor the last, but I bet he won't be doing it again! The bloke seems a bit of a cock if you ask me. I heard his girlfriend won the Goldfish prize.
  7. I don't believe that the government are allowed to deport Thai Nationals, despite having very good reasons to do so.
  8. Too good for him! By God he should be peeled alive and have salt rubbed into his raw flesh every day for 500 years, if not longer and it should be carried out for at least 10 years after he dies. They should send Thai special forces, led by Anutin to Switzerland to round up every member of his family, bring them to Thailand and hold a show trial in the same format as the Israeli's did with Adolf Eichmann, then hang all of his family including any pets that they own. Just remember though - John - 8-7-11 " He lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone"
  9. I want to know the circumstances leading up to him giving her a damn good thrashing (within an inch of her life I expect) - What went on in Big C initially that she thought she needed to ask him to be "Polite" - What was he up to that made her involve herself with him in the first place?
  10. It is due to a couple of medical procedures carried out earlier - Charisma and humour by pass surgery, a lot of people on this forum seem to elect for this type of surgery before posting on Thai Visa.
  11. The Tuk Tuk driver should have been compensated with about 4000 Baht for having to suffer 4 hours of driving around with an obnoxious Korean as a passenger. They make the Chinese look like pleasant customers.
  12. Yet another click bait crock! The lead photo shows a blown up engine with the nacelle blown off and yet it turns out that there were some sparks seen coming out of the engine! The standard of accurate news reporting just keeps sliding further down the sewer every single day!
  13. Many thanks! appreciate the information. Thanks for taking the time. Interesting to see that they specify that you are not allowed to bring drones into the venue, that might have been interesting! I imagine if it holds a couple of thousand people and everyone was flying a drone it could look a bit like Dresden in WWII
  14. Wonder if anyone can pitch in and shed a bit of light on this venue for me? It is years since I was last in Bangkok and I have some tickets for the Morrissey gig at Samyan Mitrtown Hall, - I have no idea what the venue is like and wondered if anyone had been to see a gig there before. My tickets are Standing in section A. So, a couple of questions for the more seasoned - How big is the venue? How many people does it usually hold? Are there bars, can you grab a beer at the concert hall? What is the difference between section A standing and section B standing? Many thanks!
  15. Agree there! Wait until they get back to the USA and then rip these bastards to shreds. make sure as many people know who they are, what they did and the paltry compensation, hopefully they won't be in business much longer. These <deleted>s need taking out.
  16. As Lou Reed sang, "You're gonna reap just what you sow" - Later it will be "Too many Chinese" then "Too many Indians" eventually they will wake up and realize that they they killed the golden goose when they thought they were too good for Westerners. Who's crying now?
  17. Thanks for all the valuable replies, some interesting points here. Thanks all of you who chipped in, have to admit it still isn't 100% clarity, but what ever is here? I need to look closer at the building permit as that is a new one for me, I believe I have it, it should be the registered plans to build signed off by the engineer who planned the build and the Amphur that red stamped the plans. Either way, it seems that the blue tabien bahn is simply a registration rather than a title. Thanks for all your help! Greatly appreciated.
  18. You should be able to get your house reg. put into the Yellow "ALIEN" registration book, that is obviously not at all racist or anti foreigner, but you will be looked at as a visitor from Mars.
  19. This intrigues me, you are the only person that mentions a building license. Could this be the same sort of thing as "Planning Permission" from the Amphur? Where the engineering drawings are passed off and red stamped by the local government office to allow construction? Thank you for your input, very interesting as this then takes it up a notch. My wife and son are listed on the blue Tabien Bahn, my son is listed on the Chanote, and I actually signed the documents along with the guy (Thai) who drew up the drawings that were passed by the Amphur. It looks a bit of a mess eh!
  20. Dear God what next, sending manned flight to explore the possibility of putting men on the sun! These clowns should have been in Billy Smart's Circus.
  21. Anyone know what the law is regarding the person named on the full Chanote as opposed to the person named on the Blue House reg. Tabien Bahn? If the land is held by a person named on the chanote, does the house or buildings on that land legally belong to the Chanote holder or the first named on the Tabien Bahn? - (Obviously not talking about a caravan or mobile home) Does the permanent structure on the land belong to the chanote holder or the persons in the Tabien Bahn? Thanks. Even if a second or third party built and paid for the actual dwelling, once constructed and issued with the Tabien Bahn, does this then become part of the chanote holders property? Cheers.
  22. End of the day, I am no spring chicken and cannot do half of what I could even five years ago. No longer can I climb trees, take care of my lam yai, run my chainsaw all day walk and work our 20 Rai, climb on roofs, fix the truck, I am buggered with arterial disease and probably won't be around for ever, despite what I believed when I was 21 - I just want to get everything cleared, all sweet and dandy for the family I will leave behind before I go popping up the daisies! It really is good to hear all of the differing opinions and differing experiences posted here from all of the people that joined over the years - and to be honest, how much more transparent Thailand has become over the years, so there is hope! When we first married, if my wife (Thai) owned any land here and she married a foreigner, that land had to be signed over to a "TRUE THAI" she was forbidden to hold a land title in her name if she married a foreigner (1997) - Then they changed the law, a foreigner could live here originally with 250K in the bank, had to be in joint names, but both parties could contribute as far as immigration were concerned. - i.e. If I had 50 baht a year and she could show 249,99.5 - we got the visa. That was quickly stopped, they put it to 400k but had to be in a joint account, that wan't good enough, another year later, it had to be 400k solely in the name if the foreigner...... twists and turns, they blow in the wind like the sway of the bamboo! The only certainty you will ever have here is that as long as you stay here, life will be uncertain.
  23. Agree...... but..... they are now not our neighbours, the guy that owned the land was a really OK guy, never had a problem, we actually looked out for each other as he did not live on his land , he lived a kiometre or so away Sadly, life turned bad for him, his young daughter has been left almost brain dead following a road accident a few years ago, both he and his wife had to spend a lot of time and money looking after her. As I say, they were nice people. Then things took a turn even worse - His wife made an income cooking and selling local food, but she got sick developed a problem with her leg and within 2 months she was dead! It appears that the people now using on the land are paying him a monthly rental fee, they cut down all his trees, ploughed up the land about 4 times, and now seem to be planting on a semi industrial scale. The old guy that owns / owned the land has never been an issue, the problem is with this new group of people that are not even from our locale, and it has gone from one old family farming 10 Rai of Lam Yai as an orchard to about 20 people ripping the place apart and doing some sort of mass production farming where they do not give a flying FX#$ for anyone around.
