No restrictions coming from Surat Thani to BKK. When going back, I would rent a car and drive to Surat. Last week I drove from Chiang Rai to Nakhon Si Thammarat and didnt see any manned checkpoints after Phayao/Phrae border or around that area.

I'm using CIMB and very happy with their service. Branches are never crowded because not many people are using this bank I guess. Withdraw money from any ATM in Thailand without fee (might be free only 2 times per month) and transfer money to any Thai bank account for free from my IOS app.

How does this covid extension and under consideration stamp thing works? My ED Visa has stamped until September 9th, how early should/could I go to the immigration and apply for the Covid extension?
If they are giving me under consideration stamp, is the 2nd date when I’m supposed to get my extension stamp usually before or after my current extension of stay stamp expires?
Also am I allowed to leave a country when still under consideration and haven’t actually got my extension yet? Do you pay 1,900 Baht fee on the first or second visit to the immigration? -
Hi,
Does anyone know which hospitals in Nakhon Si Thammarat can provide same-day or next-day PCR tests or Rapid Antigen Tests, and at what cost?
Thanks!

Anybody knows, after receiving 2nd shot of Sinovac whatkind of proof or paperwork are they giving you to show that you are fully vaccinated?
Perhaps a covid passport?

Well, I don't mind answering. I got the Sinovac yesterday afternoon. Originally, I was going to wait until Moderna or J&J came in. Was prepared to do that. But last week the university I retired from, Mahidol, called me and said retirees were eligible for vaccination. Sinovac, in my mind, is better than nothing. I'll still get one of the others when they arrive in December or January. But having something between now and then was better than going entirely without. BTW, two Thai friends got AZ on Monday. FWIW, symptoms from the AZ seem to be lingering for them, slight sore throat, fever, tiredness, muscle ache. The Sinovac went down like a flu shot, less than 20 hours later, only soreness at the injection site and some tiredness. So, there you go. I got Sinovac. Don't regret it.
How long you have to wait until you get your 2nd shot of Sinovac?

Apparently Sinovac is not approved by EU and wont give you quarantine free entry to any European country. So for me it would be Big No, I don't see any point taking this vaccine if it doesn't open up travelling for me.

Maybe bit off topic but in my gym very few (1-2%) are wearing masks.
They all arrive with masks on but take it off as soon as they get inside and start working out. -
For me Turkey sounds like a good option, cheap, safe and no quarantine upon arrival. Visa free for Thais and easy to get Short Term Residence Permit for Touristic purposes. I’m probably going to Antalya/Alanya with my Thai gf and stay for a 6-12 months. Hopefully by then Thailand will let its Citizens back in to the country without the 14 days imprisonment.

We not want be same new zeland.
When covid control in the world= no need for mask in plaza etc.
The farang like to say how thailand should control covid. But 200,000 new infection in farang country everyday.
Thailand would be stupid follow that.
If your country follow rule for 5 week, can control same thailand. But want to argue, fight, anti mask, anti vaxxer loons make it be impossible.
8 month, 800,000 die already and still cry/fight/complain/moan/groan about wear mask.
Is not difficult. Better than loose job, business.
Idiots.
Does anybody know why Mr. Yinn cares so much about this Covid BS around the world?

Couple of years ago in Hong Kong I was in a same hostel with a girl from California, she didn't really look very Asian to me but I guess one of her parent was Thai so she had both Thai and US Passports. I wonder would they let her stay in a restaurant?
She said when she went to Grand Palace In Bangkok they got angry because she was trying to get in for free showing them her Thai Passport but didn't speak Thai language. -
Does anyone know when I apply when I apply ED Visa from Thai Embassy in my country how many days/weeks before my course officially starts I can come to Thailand?
I dont mean right now when borders are closed but some day in the future when hopefully things are back to normal.Ideal for me would be that I come about one month before my school starts. Just trying to figure out to get my ED visa before I even leave or to enter Thailand Visa exempt and month later apply for the ED visa from Malaysia.

You can use the re-entry permit in the old passport to enter the country. Show both passports and they will stamp you into the country in the new one.
Awesome. Thanks for the quick reply Ubonjoe.

I have a question. I’m in Thailand with ED Visa, studying in a language school and immigration have issued me extension of stay. If I get re-entry permit before leaving Thailand, go home for couple of weeks to get a new passport, are they letting me back in with extension and re-entry permit stamp in my old passport? Or is it better if I order my new passport to Thailand, get stamps transferred and get a re-entry permit in my new passport before leaving? Thanks

Cheapest way to get cash out from your creditcard is Transferwise.

In Prince of Songkhla University Hat Yai they were following international start and end dates of the school year so it would be better for foreign students. But Not too many International students there and local students were complaining that they have to be in school when others have summer holiday and have their holiday on a rainy season. So now every year they are moving start of a new school year little bit closer to the date when it starts for the rest of a country.

There used to be Thai Language for Foreigners course in Udon Thani Rajabhat University. But its full time study 5 days per week and class attendance is mandatory.

Can anyone share their experience in Suvarnhabhumi from today? Do they really check all of those things?
I have Flight from Vancouver to Bangkok with stop in Seoul at the end of the month. Right now Canada is not yet in a list, so I should be fine I hope. As I understand transit passengers dont need health certificate from the doctor.

I dont think hotel license is needed if landlord uses AirBnB To rent out his/her place long term.

I thought its not possible to use Thai passport line anymore because of the fingerprinting issue. But it is definitely a good news to me that there is a chance they let you use a Thai line in DMK when traveling together with gf.

I think EU (Schengen) and UK should introduce same system for Thais what Canada already have. If Thai Citizen who owns biometric passport have had Schengen/UK Visitor visa in last 10 years then they should be available to apply for ETIAS or ETA for the UK.
