  1. Gold diggers to me are women from ordinary backgrounds in developed countries targeting rich men. A Phili girl trying to escape extreme poverty by hooking up with a western man is not a gold digger IMO. That's more like a survival instinct.
  2. Do you know how difficult it is for most Thais to enter the EU / UK, let alone work there? Does the Schengen agreement help Thais get jobs in the EU? 🤦‍♂️
  3. There is man (?) who works at one of the large investment banks in London, and he spends half the week as Philip and the other half of the week as Pippa. His career has flourished since the Trans movement became so prominent. He even wins women's banking awards (depriving women of winning them). He has a wife and kids, and says they are all supportive (ok....). So he's not homosexual. Is he Trans? Or just kinky? Either way, he's done very well for himself because the banks need to tick boxes for diversity.
  4. You raise an important point there. If you don't have any heirs then I guess it's less of a gamble. If you have kids and you stake the bulk of your wealth on a convoluted property deal, you could end up leaving nothing for your kids. I'd like to leave something for my daughter in the UK, as it's probably the only way she'll get on the property ladder (Gen Z are screwed in the UK). Property in the UK (and other developed western countries) is an appreciating asset. Whereas however you buy property in Thailand you'll end up with less/nothing, in most cases. Happy to be proved wrong - I'm only going by what I've read over the years.
  5. Fair points, but by focussing on what the ladies might have been doing wrong (being in KSR, maybe wearing sexy clothes), it makes it sound like you're siding with the two blokes. Two blokes who were also behaving like this in other venues according to witnesses. And btw, I don't like this behaviour anywhere, including Pattaya. Only certain types of 'men' grope women uninvited and are unapologetic about it.
  6. Personally I wouldn't grope women on the street uninvited, no matter how they were dressed. Most real men grew out of that sort of behaviour by the time they were 16 years old. It sounds like you think it's ok because they were in KSR and MIGHT have been wearing sexy clothes. That's a weird way of thinking IMO 🚩
  7. Lee Anderson has nothing to apologise for. He raised legitimate concerns about Khan's apathy towards extremist behaviour while constantly banging on about Islamophobia. Khan behaves as though the extremists have him in their pocket, and Anderson was brave enough to call him out on it. He later went on to say his words were clumsy, but he finds it hard to contain his frustration about what's happening in our capital. Most people I know agree with his sentiments.
  8. And Hester's comments were made 5 years ago. And he's formally apologised. But I suppose because he's not a leftie he should never be forgiven. P.S. Dianne Abbot also insulted Jews and Irish people. And she still sits in Parliament!
  9. So 97% Thais all around 20 yrs old, and clubbing. I'm 54. I like a party but I don't think it would be my scene.
  10. Is Rambuttri Alley the road that goes around the temple grounds? Spent a daytime there last year having a few beers. Nice chilled out leafy area. I liked it. I'd never been there, but one of the mates I was with said he used to stay in the guest houses down there about 20 yrs ago. He wanted us to book rooms down there - he was reminiscing about the good old days. That was until we checked out a couple of the rooms. Bathrooms were the size of a broom cupboard with a toilet and a hand held shower attachment over the sink. It made me realise we had simpler needs in our earlier visits to LOS 😆 Does it liven up at night?
  11. Just researched it. It's a lively area with 90% Thai people in their early 20s partying?
  12. Frank Hester was an idiot for saying that. He said it about 5 years ago which is around the time that Abbot was making some more of her own racist remarks about white people. So I imagine Hester was trying to say that she talks in a very divisive way, i.e. turns white people against black people. Which she does. But for a prominent business man and high profile Tory donor to be so clumsy with his words, he deserves all he gets.
  13. Lee Anderson did indeed support that idea. But you said it yourself - 'mid-stream'. We're not in the middle of a parliament. He's switched parties just before a General Election, so there's no need for a by-election. It would waste millions in tax payer's money holding a by-election which would be immediately made null and void by a GE. It would be insane to hold a by-election now!
  14. I can only see one Asian girl in those photos. How did he manage to find such an awful representation of the Asian female? Maybe he's into big hands.
  15. I agree it should be legal in the UK. But no British PM would have the balls to propose legalising prostitution. The press and the opposition would have a field day.
  16. It's very hard for an asylum seeker to get kicked out of the UK. Once they arrive in the UK it's almost guaranteed they'll be there for several years if not permanently. That's why all those young African and Middle Eastern men are coming over on boats from France. The UK is a soft touch.
  17. Exactly this! Why on Earth would he expect his Thai wife to adapt to his preferred style of cooking when every westerner (with a brain) should know how much Thais love Thai food. To the OP, maybe learn how to cook healthy Thai style meals. Otherwise it's like putting Diesel into a Petrol car.
  18. Families of Indian (Hindu) heritage have usually been quite successful in the UK. So he's presumably financing his relocation through Bank of Mum & Dad. Obviously he'll have visa challenges ahead. And at 22 he's going to make a lot of mistakes, but good luck to him. Oh and...'Thrice holidayed in Thailand'? Who wrote this story, William Shakespeare? 😆
  19. The difference being this is a very wealthy Swiss man who can afford to pay THB 1 million per month rent for a villa, a property that's been built in a way that excludes ordinary Thai people from hanging out on the beach. If you're lording it up in this way it's best if you keep a low profile. But he obviously can't control his temper. The repeated swearing in the video will not have helped either. He pretty much ticked all the boxes in the 'how to offend the locals' questionnaire.
  20. I'm sure he was a decent person, but I'm also pretty sure he didn't build the condo block out of the goodness of his heart. He saw an opportunity to make a shed load of money in a relatively poor country. A country where investments like this carry risk. Not only the risk from political instability meaning the rules for foreign ownership could change at any time, but also flaunting your foreign wealth is bound to upset the local mafia in somewhere like Phuket. Not saying it's right, but that's just the way it is. The Swiss guy in this story was bound to come unstuck eventually if he was (as reported) disrespectful to the less fortunate locals. If you're a very wealthy foreigner in a poor country, have the intelligence to be respectful. The way he was ranting in the video suggests to me he lacks emotional intelligence. I hope for his sake he's savvy enough to know it's time to move...
  21. The anti-Muslim feeling in the UK and other countries has been brought about by the violent methods used by Islamists, and their intolerance of non-believers.
  22. Absolutely nothing wrong with that. I wish a few more like him were elected. You only say that because he's on the Hamas side of the fence. If a pro-Israel candidate was elected you'd probably agree with me. My point is, this is sectarian voting and I don't think that's good for the UK.
  23. Seriously, you think mob rule means they are literally ruling us?🤦‍♂️ The actual definition perfectly describes the examples I gave. Mob rule definition according to Collins: NOUN The fact or state of large groups of people acting without the consent of the government, authorities, etc
  24. The worrying thing about George Galloway's victory is not the fact he sympathises with terrorist groups. It's the fact that he won on the basis of the huge Muslim vote and his stance on Gaza. He has no interest in the people of Rochdale, improving their services and their lives. He's stated his top priority is the Israel - Hamas war. Sectarian voting is creeping into UK politics. That's a concern IMO.
  25. Here you go: Concerns for MPs' safety came to a head last week when Commons Speaker Sir Lindsay Hoyle cited threats to politicians in his controversial handling of a debate on calls for a ceasefire in the conflict. A Home Office document states: "Elected representatives have been threatened and had their family homes targeted. Council meetings have been repeatedly disrupted and, in some cases, abandoned... Last Wednesday, protestors threatened to force Parliament to 'lock its doors'. Earlier this month, Conservative MP Tobias Ellwood's home was targeted by pro-Palestinian protesters, while Preet Gill, Labour MP For Birmingham Edgbaston, said death threats had become "a norm" in her job, and Conservative Stafford MP Theo Clarke said she carried a panic button directly linked to the police "at all times". Justice minister Mike Freer, who is standing down at the next election due to safety fears, said the extra funding for security measures would "not go to the root cause" of why people felt emboldened to target MPs. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-68429902
