  1. That's mostly correct. But I'm only coming and going 5 times a year. No issues ever. I work (abroad) month on month off. I used to do two weeks and two weeks, but that's just not enough time at home - still no issues when I was doing that.
  2. Mine has 52 pages, 35 of which are nothing but Thai stamps, 10 of which are other countries and full page visas (hope I can make it last until renewal date rather than early)... I think your "friend" will be fine.
  3. Exemptions on arrival only, never had a visa... ever. Get an extension once or twice a year.
  4. Buddy, us "airline mates" have been living here for decades on stamps - it's a non issue and only affects those who are perceived (rightly or wrongly) to be trying to avoid work permits and things like that.
  5. I've been doing this exact thing for 14 years now. It comes down to who you are, what you do for a living, and especially if you can converse and crack a few jokes in Thai. If you check all the boxes and aren't perceived to be a problem or (potential) burden in Thailand they will happily let you come "forever". Just need 13 more years of this and I can get the retirement visa. Someone who, for example, works in energy production will have a much better success rate in this than a Pattaya "Bar Manager".
  6. I need to get a hat that specifies "I'm not with them"... WTF is wrong with (about half) of you?
  7. Seems you missed the last paragraph which was much nastier and deserves its own story.
  8. All you really need is water - or do you like skid marks?
  9. Bro is mad because someone can't be bribed. Hope the RTP are making notes on who to put on their future deportation lists.
  10. And (if passed by the Senate and published in the Royal Gazette) does it become less "real" because it was done in response to political pressure? No issues unless you notice them - right? Whatever grampy, you'll be getting off the "Earth Ride" soon enough -and won't need to worry about having it "pushed in your face".
  11. I wonder if the shoddy machinery will be replaced or upgraded - probably one would imagine. And nobody thinks it's going to be finished by 2029 because not even "first world countries" can keep to a schedule. Though I don't think it'll take as long as BER took to finish (even with famous German efficiency). It's just what's announced - and I'm not here to speculate on "what ifs" of a construction project's timeline just the fact that they've authorized further development and that the money for that has to come from somewhere.
  12. With predictable results... turns out getting randomly attacked might cause people to experience stress (especially those who don't otherwise deal with direct violence as part of their day to day lives) - Why Britain’s doctors are striking and stressed — by the numbers – POLITICO
  13. Since you're such an avid reader of the news did you see the 36 billion baht they're investing (announced 2023) for phase 3 development of DMK from 2025 to 2029?
  14. Do the knives fly out of the patient and stab the doctor in the back when they're not looking?
  15. With such an insane statement I suspect he hasn't been past a local restaurant known as "Thai Street Food" 1 km from his block house, or his trailer down by the river.
  16. Define "real Thai Foods"... Because I can assure you even "Thai tastes" aren't universal (in fact, no country or cuisine has "universal tastes"). If you're going to claim Som Tam with crab or fermented fish is "real Thai food" - meh, yeah it is, but so is "Som Tam Thai" - which has neither crab nor fermented fish. Also, Mark is the last person to take food advice from - he says everything is amazing, and phenomenal, even when it isn't. Just hypes whatever he can shovel into his gullet for likes and views.
  17. How many times does it need to be repeated before it sinks into peoples brains - Flies, Fs, or Floats? RENT DON'T BUY!
  18. It's clear to me you don't know how airports fund themselves (particularly their common use areas) or, for that matter, have every looked at an itemized breakdown of what is actually in your fare. My username might clue you in to the fact that I've done this for a few decades. All western countries do the exact same thing and their most recent increases (between 2021 and today) are an order of magnitude higher than what AOT is instituting. Precisely, and "the further you are from Heathrow" line? Why is it lower in Inverness then? As mentioned above, it's apparent hundreds of people have been paying these fees for years and not realizing it.
  19. Yes the roughly 1.75 Euro increase in ticket prices will make a huge difference after not being adjusted for years. Grow up.
  20. All "professional" streamers should be sent directly to the "French trimming device from the 18th-19th century". No exceptions.
  21. That's not how economics or budgeting works. And military hardware is the kind of stuff everyone likes to claim is a waste of money - UNTIL THEY NEED IT.
  22. That's definitley tax evasion (appearance of it anyway) - and if your funds were already taxed then Thailand has no intention of taxing them again. Keep your returns, keep your receipts, do big boy things. The degrees of complication you guys are coming up with to avoid taxes which you are already exempt from (on the basis of having already paid tax on the funds) is absolutley hilarious.
  23. Didn't say I have a feeling one way or another about the music (since you brought it up - it's good in certain settings for me), but I find the looking to be better in other places - or I can just order delivery from my nearly endless list of line contacts.
  24. I've been getting similar questions more and more when I get up to immigration (maybe the 50 or so visa exempt stamps have something to do with it, not sure), anyway - explaining what I do for a living clears it up in 30 seconds. Occasionally they will also ask if I have a girlfriend... Not sure of the relevance there, but last time when I said I don't the female officer asked if I want one... 555.
  25. I'm 37 - so make of that what you will... Compared to "what it was" when I moved here 14 years ago - it's a combination of being more sterile, familiar, boring, and expensive. "Girl quality" has also taken a nosedive (regarding attitude, looks are subjective). I can't speak for tourists whatsoever. It may be "I'm getting old", but the usual "spots" just don't appeal to me anymore, or to any of the guys I know within a few years of my age.
