    So, you're doing 5x 30 days + 30 days extensions?

So, you're in Thailand for 6 months, not for a full year.

And then, ... okay, wait, it's too cumbersome to deal with that story because nobody is staying here with 30 days extensions all year round. After a low amount you will be questioned and eventually denied. End of story.

    7-8 months.

And his stipulation was "reenter by air every month"... Unless he's willing to fly BKK-SIN-BKK or something once a month to get a stamp (which is asinine), he will likely be "abroad" for more than a few hours. If you've got a few weeks between all your departure and arrivals it's a non issue. Only the OP can clarify this - not you or me.

So you are flying in and out of the country 10-12 times per year, with no visa, getting only exemptions, and never had an issue with IOs? For 14 years?

That's mostly correct. But I'm only coming and going 5 times a year. No issues ever. I work (abroad) month on month off. I used to do two weeks and two weeks, but that's just not enough time at home - still no issues when I was doing that.

I am asking for a friend of mine! Does it worth to make a new passport if the current one has too many stamps but it still has many free pages? My friend would like to come back to thailand but he is afraid that immigration officer could deny him to enter because of too many stamps on his passport. By the way he is abroad right now and it's already 6 months that is out of thailand

Mine has 52 pages, 35 of which are nothing but Thai stamps, 10 of which are other countries and full page visas (hope I can make it last until renewal date rather than early)... I think your "friend" will be fine.

I should stop reading social media and AN and just listen to my airline mates who come to Thailand maybe once or twice year they never  heard of any hassles at all.

Buddy, us "airline mates" have been living here for decades on stamps - it's a non issue and only affects those who are perceived (rightly or wrongly) to be trying to avoid work permits and things like that.

Provided you leave and reenter by plane every month.

Is it to the discretion of the immigration officier ? I can't find any indication or guideline that says I basically cannot do this forever.

I've been doing this exact thing for 14 years now. It comes down to who you are, what you do for a living, and especially if you can converse and crack a few jokes in Thai. If you check all the boxes and aren't perceived to be a problem or (potential) burden in Thailand they will happily let you come "forever". Just need 13 more years of this and I can get the retirement visa.

Someone who, for example, works in energy production will have a much better success rate in this than a Pattaya "Bar Manager".

After a woman's leg was chopped off by the shoddy machinery at the airport.

If you think that all of the 36 billion baht is going to the airport, or that it will be finished by 2029, I have magic beans to sell you for a million baht each.

I wonder if the shoddy machinery will be replaced or upgraded - probably one would imagine.

And nobody thinks it's going to be finished by 2029 because not even "first world countries" can keep to a schedule. Though I don't think it'll take as long as BER took to finish (even with famous German efficiency). It's just what's announced - and I'm not here to speculate on "what ifs" of a construction project's timeline just the fact that they've authorized further development and that the money for that has to come from somewhere.

well the UK would  know  about that , and that;s just London

Violence against doctors, nurses and other hospital workers appears to be rising in London, new data suggests. Met Police figures show that staff in the capital's hospitals have endured almost 1,000 violent offences since the start of April 2022

With predictable results... turns out getting randomly attacked might cause people to experience stress (especially those who don't otherwise deal with direct violence as part of their day to day lives) -

I'm sure that the world's richest airport operator (according to Bloomberg)  will re-invest every single penny of that increase to improve facilities, like the Don Mueang Airport, which is basically a relic of the 1970s.

Since you're such an avid reader of the news did you see the 36 billion baht they're investing (announced 2023) for phase 3 development of DMK from 2025 to 2029?

It's actually quite tasty if you're able to eat real Thai foods. Pad sator is another great southern dish.

Define "real Thai Foods"... Because I can assure you even "Thai tastes" aren't universal (in fact, no country or cuisine has "universal tastes"). If you're going to claim Som Tam with crab or fermented fish is "real Thai food" - meh, yeah it is, but so is "Som Tam Thai" - which has neither crab nor fermented fish.

Also, Mark is the last person to take food advice from - he says everything is amazing, and phenomenal, even when it isn't. Just hypes whatever he can shovel into his gullet for likes and views.

Adding in small but irritating fees is, in fact, exactly what "nickel and diming" is.

And this particular increase has nothing whatsoever to do with "adjusting" the passenger service charge for inflation. As the article explains, it's to pay for check-in equipment that in almost every other country would be installed and paid for by airlines as a means of saving on labor costs, not put in by airport management at the expense of passengers. So yes, we will now pay AOT  for the privilege of doing the check-in ourselves instead of having professionals do it for us as part of our fare.

It's clear to me you don't know how airports fund themselves (particularly their common use areas) or, for that matter, have every looked at an itemized breakdown of what is actually in your fare. My username might clue you in to the fact that I've done this for a few decades. All western countries do the exact same thing and their most recent increases (between 2021 and today) are an order of magnitude higher than what AOT is instituting.

Nonsense again. The tax applies to UK airports, the "further you are from Heathrow the higher the APD cost" line is just laughable. Also, every single airline provider provides a breakdown of the fair and tax before you book the ticket. If you can't be bothered reading the "sneaky" tax which is in black and white and in front of your nose then that's up to you.

Precisely, and "the further you are from Heathrow" line? Why is it lower in Inverness then? As mentioned above, it's apparent hundreds of people have been paying these fees for years and not realizing it.

I have a question about it. if I transfer money to my wife to her account in Thailand as a gift, up to 20 mio. ฿ there are no taxes to pay. Once they arrived in my wife's account, she promptly paid them to my account in Thailand (local transfer). Then I should be exempt from taxes.

That's definitley tax evasion (appearance of it anyway) - and if your funds were already taxed then Thailand has no intention of taxing them again. Keep your returns, keep your receipts, do big boy things. The degrees of complication you guys are coming up with to avoid taxes which you are already exempt from (on the basis of having already paid tax on the funds) is absolutley hilarious.

I'm way older than 37 but love hardcore electronic dance music. Not sure the love of the music has anything to do with age right? Have a long term partner too so not looking for any new horizontal action but do still enjoy looking. Are you also ever too old to enjoy looking also?

Didn't say I have a feeling one way or another about the music (since you brought it up - it's good in certain settings for me), but I find the looking to be better in other places - or I can just order delivery from my nearly endless list of line contacts.
