  1. I applied online on 17 Aug and have still not had approval. Notification is due 30 Aug so in mind of comments here on the backlog others have experienced I have booked an appointment at CW on 30 Aug. My last run of notifications have run smoothly, approved in a couple of days so shame to have the journey there & back if notification is not granted by then. GLA
  2. Agree with experience on the thread. I signed up for a day package of roaming access with AIS for 32 baht but had to switch off my internet connection as per Mutt Daeng - it's telling you to switch wifi off and to register using the sim card that will be associated with the account. After registration you should be able to use the app via wifi . (haven't check the wifi bit yet) My original passport number was rejected and my current passport number accepted. That makes sense & perhaps using the pink card. SCB staff do take care to update the bank's document records for new passports as I recall, they are very good at that, aren't they? The new site looks powerful. I will get the bank to help me with facial recognition. I saw them doing that for a customer last time I was in a queue. It looks very convenient & useful. The thought of walking round with access to the amount that must be at a bank for immigration requirements is a downside. I wonder whether it might be better to keep a the lump sum required for visa renewal in another account outside reach of the SCB Easy ap, in another bank or keep the Easy ap phone at home.
  3. This may need a new thread It concerns new insurance requirements for Non O-A (as opposed to the Non - O visa discussed above). My insurance company has contacted me concerning renewal of my existing policy (covering 400,000 inpatient and 40,000 outpatient with 200,000 baht deductible per time per treatment) with the suggestion that I switch to the new $100,000 insurance requirement ubonjoe mentions. I can not find any guidance on the Thai Immigration website about when the new levels come into effect - is there any? ubonjoe says above that some have changed it to the new $100,000 insurance requirement for a Non-OA visa. Does anyone know what Lak Si requires to extend Non O-A permission to stay? Thanks v much Many thanks
  4. I believe if you hire a car in the UK the hire company requires the home address shown on your licence to agree with the address your credit card has registered as your home. Do you know if that is right? I am a UK passport holder living here for 5 years & expecting to be here another 5. My UK driving licence is now out of sync with the home address for my UK bank account now. I do have a Thai driving licence and credit card registered to the same address. Is it easy to hire for a UK passport holder to hire a car in the UK using a Thai licence & Thai credit card? It would be better to use a UK card, has anyone got any advice on hiring a car when UK docs are out of sync? I have avoided moving my bank address from the UK to Thailand to keep life simple. Is it worth doing? I suppose I ought to register my UK bank and UK driving licence to my home here in Thailand. Is that right? Much appreciate advice from previous experience. Thanks
  5. I had the same warning just now. My last notification worked on line. I suppose they fixed it & now its out again for me.
