It's staph, which is a common bacteria which afflicts many hospitals around the world, even those with much higher standards than many in Thailand. And occular cellulitis with accompanying impaired vision or blindness is a far more common result of staph infections than you would think. Scientific papers discussing these facts are not difficult to find. Of course the antivax brigade will be all over this like a cheap suit, because they tend to avoid things like proven science.
