is a stupid question, my Thai girlfriend's home is spotless clean with polished floors and sparkling windows, the outside garden is always looked after and clean and beautified, much, much cleaner and better cared for than any houses I've seen here in Australia, so in which slums have you looked to form such an idiotic opinion??
In general the Thai houses and accomodations I've seen and I have travelled from south to north and east to west are mostly well cared for.

Accept the country and it's people as they are, try to fit in the daily lives, be careful what you do and be thankful that you are allowed to live in such a beautiful country, no problem ...
But if you try to instil your home country's values and can't accept the situation. then you are in the wrong place and are better off back home, easy, eh?

The Thai girls have different outlook on sex and faithfulness, if you are with her then you're number one, but if not there then other have the opportunity to make her happy, she thinks nothing is wrong with that, that's the Thai way of life. ok if you can live with that, if not, then walk away and save later heart ache

yep there are those hotels unfortunately, happened to me in 2015 on Koh Samui a hotel called KT Samui, owned by a Russian then, worst place I ever stayed, noisy and dirty, needless to say never again would I go near this place
Where has been your most magical moments ( travel wise ) in SE Asia?

too many to remember, but the trip circling Koh Samui on a bike was certainly an experience, also the road trip by car from Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai left a nice impression, as well as a trip from Udon thani to Wat Pa Phu kon (Temple in the sky) with return trip along the Mekong. Love this country and its people, looking forward to do many more trips.
