The Phuket governor is on a mission.
He is a combo :
-Jesus
-Leonidas 1er ("spaaaaaaaarta !")
-general Patton
-Julio Eglesias (for the glamour and the songs)
One day = one order !
Whatever crazy this order can be... It doesn't matter.
The people, the whole planet is waiting for his daily order.
Yesterday the 7/11 and convenience stores ?
Today the hotels ?
Tomorrow : ban on Som Tam. Ban on beer. Ban on sex. Ban on ban, etc.
Rince repeat.
Where this will lead us ? Impossible to say... Afterall, this is Thailand ("spaaaaaaaarta"). Everything is possible.
But one thing is sure : people are going to die. For real. Because of all those "orders".
And perhaps more compared to the virus casualties...
(Thailand = 1978 cases of the terrible virus. And 19 deads).

New Orleans had the mardi gras.
I expect this is why the death rate is so high.
The post is highlighting New Orleans death rate.
You don't understand.
Mardi gras could explain the infection rate...
Here they are talking about the death rate...
It's a fact that the virus kills... mostly old people and/or people who are... already sick.
Italy, France, Spain... are show cases (no need to talk about China, because it's impossible to trust their data).
Everybody who visited USA... know because they saw that insane obesity is a real and widespread problem there...
Add cholesterol, diabetes, heart problems etc.
It's a morbid festival.

Great news, mister Weerasak Wijitsaengsri.
But where can we buy/procure those masks ?
Should we call the prime minister ? Or the office of a deputy minister... where some people seem to have a little business on the side ?
Thank you to enlight us.
We need your wisdom.
We need your leadership.
(Thailand = officially 1875 infected and 15 deads)

Whenever inane officials slam any new regulations.... repeat the numbers.
"infections in Chonburi had rocketed to 61. "
And nationwide : officially the virus has killed.... 15 people.
Then, eventually, people will understand the current madness....

And the first question to ask of course is : "we can not buy masks... mai mi... so how do we respect this regulation ?"
????
But of course, and as usual, those "governors" decide first, and think after.
What matters is to issue, everyday if possible, an order. Any kind of order. A paper. Anything to exist. Anything to be noticed by the medias, by the central gvt.
It's a competition.

Well if you agree to be a slave, good for you !
Others feel bad about this obsession to control people's life.
Is that so difficult to understand, or just to accept ?
Other think that a national curfew.... for a virus that has killed (as of today)... 15 people, is a little bit.... how to put it... excessive...
- 5

Perfect continuity...
-selling times (11 AM to 2 PM, and after 5 PM)... a very old regulation
-ban during big religious festival
-ban for elections days
No difference for that matter between civil or military gvts.
What's the link between alcohol and the virus ?
Nobody is able to give a logical explanation. And actually, nobody is asking !
It's just the same, deep obsession to control the people behaviors.
This obsession is engrained into the thai elite.
It's like a virtual whip.
During the good old days, you would whip your slaves.
In modern times, it's more difficult...
So instead, you impose rules, regulations, to manage, to model, to construct people behaviors.
This is not a thai exclusivity.
The constructivists, it means the people who pretend to know better what is good or bad for you... are everywhere on this planet.
And unfortunately, they are in power.

What is more "infection like" ?
-a few people who party, in private houses/condos, in the middle of the night ?
-or millions of people who continue to go to work, to shop etc. during daylight ?
This simple question shows how absurd is this "curfew".
The 2 real objectives of such order :
-PR (after several "governors" took their own little decision, without any unity, in total cacophony)... Prayuth needs to show that the central government is doing something.
-more control (of the people). For military people, more control is always good to take... In any circumstance.
No link whatsoever with the virus. in that matter, more (control) is always better.

It's funny... nobody seems to understand what he really said !
-no arrival for 2 weeks
-because we need time to build "state quarantine facilities" !
Logical conclusion :
-after 2 weeks, they could impose a new rule : anyone coming into Thailand (thai and foreigner) would be... sent to a "state quarantine" (camp). Compulsory.
Furthermore, it shows that they foresee the need of such "facilities"...
This inane order (how many people are coming into Thailand right now, anyway ?) is a way to hide/justify the construction of those "facilities".
It's pure manipulation
Beneath, Prayuth continues to use the -absurd- card : "infection = foreigners coming to Thailand" for PR needs.

What strikes me the most.... the SARS epidemic happened in 2003.
And nobody ever bothered to produce a vaccine?
They say it takes a minimum of 1 to 1.5 years for a vaccine to be ready and safe for use for humans. Well, 17 years and no vaccine for SARS??
And with Covid-19 so close to SARS....
You misunderstood...
They didn't make a vaccine against SARS... Because they... failed.
They tried ! But they failed.
So the right question to ask now is : why they continue to BS us by saying that a vaccine against the chinese virus will come soon ?
Several answers are possible. But the most obvious is : "to enhance the flow of fundings".
Chasing a ghost, forever... Perfect time to milk the cow : "oh yeah it's coming we are working on it"...

It's an understatement.
But sexuality and obesity are merely symptoms.
And symptoms that can be linked to personal decisions.
What we face is something much worse than "abnormality/normality"... It's what I call : "mental AIDS".
When people start to think for instance, and they are sincere, that not only women menstruate... then indeed we face a disease.
Of the mind.
And eventually, it leads to a much worse prognosis... For mankind (sorry, if it's not gender-neutral enough).

Because Phuket is more easy..
I disagree.
It's a very good question ("why not BKK ?") because it highlights the absurdity, the inanity of such "private/partial lockdown"...
How many cases in Phuket ? How many deads in Phuket ? Is Phuket the thai... Wuhan ? Of course not.
And no need to say "that's the point, in order to prevent the virus to come to the island, the lockdown is justified".
Because we all know that the virus is already in Phuket.
So why should we close Phuket. But not BKK, where we have a large number of cases ?
Who is this governor ? Why does he take such radical decision, without proper coordination with Bangkok ? With central gvt ?
Why the days before he already showed strange decisions (to close 7/11 shops from 10 PM to 3 AM) ?
Sorry, but this is wrong. On every front : health, economy, politics, social, etc.
And it's an absolute PR disaster... Because actually everybody will ask "Why Phuket and not Bangkok ? What's going on in Thailand ?"

Nobody to protest ?
Is the "governor" of Phuket in charge on the health policy of Thailand ?
How many cases in Phuket ?
How many deads from the virus in Phuket ?
What is the logic behind such a decision ?
The guy is a zealot.
He started to impose closing to 7/11 shops from 10 PM to 3 AM.
Then he closed the beaches (full time).
And now, full lockdown ! !!
He is clearly in the "competition" of "virtue signaling".

Indeed. It's a joke. Sometimes whole families registered... even students... !
I'm sure some have tried to register their... pets.
There is a rumor among thais : "like previous handouts the gvt will not check"...
This is much scarier than the virus... The gvt should pay attention... If they continue to play "godlike" with the life of millions of people, it will end badly.
Unfortunately... as usual... the worst is certain.
Look at the "competition" (i was right) : the governor of Phuket declared on his own... a total lockdown.... !
This insanity must stop.
And quick.

I don't know if someone has already said it.
Virtue signaling.
-is Tesco in charge of public health policy in Thailand ?
-why 15 ? Why not 14 or 16 ? Or 15.5 ?
-does a child count for one adult ?
-if the logic commands that a lower number equals lower risk then 15 is way too high : 1 customer would be better
-if there is a real risk... then why not closing all shops ? It would be even better.
-if the reason is to protect their employes... then again, close all shops.
-how many Tesco employes have been infected ? How many have been kiled by the virus ?
etc. I mean it's easy to play ad nauseam with this kind of "PR/marketing" decision taken by private companies.
My concern is the competition.
Tomorrow Company B will feel compelled... to outdo Tesco.
To look better.
Like minister X wants to outdo minister Y.
Like governor C wants to outdo governor D.
The governor of Phuket decided to close 7/11 shops from 10 PM to 3 AM.
What's next ?
It's a sure bet : someone will decide to close shops from 1 PM... to 11 AM.
Insane ? Yes. But it will happen.
Because with those inane officials.... more is always better.
And to be a better thai you need to do more.
Conformism multiplied by face multiplied by cowardice... the recipe for perfect and lasting disasters...

Hard data again.
In France, in 2015 we had 579 800 deaths42 100 were caused by "respiratory diseases"
Hard data again.
But this time for 2013, and with more details about those "respiratory diseases"
(source : french health minister, page 3 of the PDF)
https://drees.solidarites-sante.gouv.fr/IMG/pdf/esp2017_5_principales_causes_de_deces_et_de_morbidite.pdf
2013 = total 567 078 deaths
On this total : 37 626 deaths caused by "respiratory diseases" (men + women)
Details :
Flu = 715
Pneumonia = 12 056
Chronic diseases from lower respiratory tract = 10 540
Asthma = 883Okay, now you have "scales" and "perspectives".
Now you tell me : this mysterious "coronavirus" that attacks the respiratory system... End of march, France announces 2 300 deaths.Fair enough.
Is it "normal" or "abnormal" or totally apocalyptic compared to the 12 056 death from "pneumonia" in 2013 ?Or the total of 37 626 deaths in 2013 from the whole group of "respiratory diseases" (42 100 in 2015) ?
My question is of course purely rhetorical...
So the situation is very simple : where France will be end of december 2020 ?
What will be the group of "deaths caused by respiratory diseases" ?
Around the yearly average of 42 000 ? Or Doubled ? Tripled ? Or quadrupled ?
Voilà. This is the only question if you want to understand and assess the health effect of this virus.
And after that, you can answer another question : from an economic point of view, where France will be end of december 2020 after this furious lockdown ?
And finally, you can link both...

Lastest details from the french government (for march 25th)
1331 deaths (in hospitals) (yesterday it was 2314)
86 % of them were older than 70 years.
It matches perfectly the data from Italy.
Other info : the french gvt will start to publish "next week" the mortality numbers, at local (département), provincial (région) and national levels, "all causes" (in France, "état civil" administration issues and collects the birth and death certificates, then those data are agregated by INSEE).
This is very important.
At last, we will be able to see, clearly, if the virus has any effect on the national level (we need to repeat that to focus on 1 hospital, 1 small city, 1 area etc... like people do in Italy is perfectly pointless).
To assess correctly the threat, we need to look at death number (all causes), and do comparisons with previous periods.
Right now, it's obvious, the number of "virus deaths" are grotesque at national level, and per year (per year more than 600 000 people die in France... So 2314, even if we extrapolate on 12 months = 27000... is not much... Plus, how many of those old 27000 victims would have died anyway during the year ?).
Against hysteria, insanity... we need hard data and we have to put those hard data into perspective.
This is the only cure we need right now.

Yes. Exactly like i said : we are in a competition.
All those so called "officials" will take insane decisions in order to outdo their collegues.
Zealots seeking "virtue".
The worst specie. And the most dangereous.
Alas public sector is not the only one... Tesco has decided a new rule : only 15 customers at any given time in their "express" stores ! [source Richard Barrow]
Why, how ? !
As peasants, and victims of a huge social experiment, we will never know.
We can only assume : a crazy CEO, infected not by the virus but by insane "experts" and of course inane "PR" managers, has decided that he must seek "virtue".
Over science. Over business. Over common sense.
Brace for even more insanity in the coming weeks and... months.
It's only the beginning...

19 minutes ago, humbug said:this gangster regime has boxed/cornered itself by lying about numbers, if you keep repeating 4-5 deaths, couple thousand infections, you won’t be able to keep people, losing income, jobs, livelihoods for many weeks/months, it won’t work, people will just go,
‘screw it, I have had enough, I don’t care, 4 people dead is nothing, it’s worth the risk of trying to earn a living again’
Bingo.
The cognitive dissonance is just huge.
Conformism is the rule here
But at one point, it won't work anymore.
This circus started beginning of january. Thailand was the first country to announce a confirmed case outside China.
In january, almost 1 million of chinese tourists visited Thailand.
In january we have had 6 daily flights between Wuhan and Thailand...
3 months later... We have :
5 deads. And 1000 cases. Even 5000 (if we assume that the gvt is using the subgroup of "PUI" to hide the cases)...
And the whole economy has been shutdown. And the borders have been closed.
For this ?
Again, most of you have lost any common sense.
So 2 solutions :
-very quickly, the gvt will do a "reverse drive" thai style... Like next week "ok folk, it worked, it's over. We won the war [as usual, thai style] life is going back to normal. Thailand su su, we are the best !"
-or the gvt will use... curfew to crash the dissent... because the dissent and the anger will grow.
But something must happen.
People are like children. But even children can understand that something is seriously fxxxx up here.
The government's actions do not make any sense.

I do.
But the problem is : we are prisoners of the insane decisions taken by governments (not ony thai).
My position is clear : when China slapped Wuhan with a lockdown, january 23, I was scared, because it was unknown.
But then, with all the incoming data.... I became a non-believer.
This virus is just a big flu.
It kills old, sick, weak people. Perhaps a little bit faster than usual... But nothing more.
In other word : nothing new under the sun.
Yes there are and there always be "strange" cases (put forward by the medias) :
-the 16 years old girl in France
-the sport guy 35 years old with no "prior pathology"
etc.
Everything is done to scare the flock, the sheeps.
Italy is a show case. Right now they have 10 000 deads.
My personal "alert" level is 20 000. It's the number of dead Italy had because of the heat wave in august 2003 (same for France).
The first victim of this mass hysteria and collective hallucination is : the understanding of scales
People take all incoming data without any perspective.
"10 000 deads in Italy ! Oh my god ! It's the end ! It's terrible !"
They do not know that a total of 647 000 italian died in 2019, and 633 000 in 2018.
What would be a real and significant surmortality number compared to an average year ?
10 % ?
That would be 64 000 more deaths for the whole 2020.
We will see at the end of december
In Thailand, this exercice becomes even more absurd. I'm not saying that a car accident is the same than the virus. But they do have one thing in common : a corpse is a corpse.
And it's impossible to remain calm when on one hand, we have 5 deads because of the virus... and on the other... 25 000 (mostly young) people crashed into pieces every freaking year in road accidents...
Again, we are losing common sense and sense of scales.
To shutdown the whole country for this ? 69 millions people jailed for 5 deads and a few thousands cases ?
It's beyond a joke.
It's now a crime.
A crime against our intelligence.
And a crime against humanity.

And how the workers... are practising "social distancing" ?
The inane government prevent us to... do gym in a sport room, inside a private condo (rules !) but outside, a dozen meters away, workers on roads/bridges projects are still... working, eating and even sleeping (nap) together.
And those are public construction projects.
Ah sorry.... I forgot... those workers are not human... Merely biorobots because they come from Burma, Lao etc.

The guy has just joined the competition.
The competition of small officials who want to exist, in the "war against the virus".
They need to outdo their peers in order to feel good, in order to be noticed by the upper echelons.
The zealots are coming out.
