Selling for 40 baht a bag, three pairs of donuts along with a condensed milk sauce are provided in each order. The operation has reported selling as many as 1,000 orders a day

40K per day.  Nice little side gig to have beside your neighborhood lemonade stand.   Question is, how long would it take the existing Thai Air "operation specialists", to pick the daily donut sales till clean?

  2. For a change of pace, I took the train into Bangkok from KK, from Bangkok to KL (Malaysian border).  Bangkok to Malaysian border was a nice trip in a sleeper.  Enough stops and scenery to keep things interesting, food/snack car was adequate for the length of the trip, sleeper was ...a sleeper.  I'm sure there's many reviews of the trip.  Relatively cheap, all things considered.

  3. I would ask a couple of reputable interior designers/architects if they have, or know decent a crew looking for work.  It's not like back home, where a painter has been through an apprenticeship or "licensed".    If a reputable interior person/specialist hires someone, it's probably a solid team (protecting their reputation)...

Not sure if you can see whole image, please let me know if you cant.

Type in to Google the following
    kunpoh coffee roaster

Not sure where you live whether it is North or South of Khon Kaen, let me know and I can give you directions.

It's a bit set back from the main road so can be easy to miss.
I don't have my own transport so travel to KK by train or bus.
The owner speaks little English.   Normally they are closed Saturday and Sunday.   Not sure of opening time but in afternoon they close around 5pm latest.
Laid back place, very pleasant people, have a number of regulars, the owners still learning etiquette of coffee drinking e.g. cool water before drinking black coffee ( served now though not previously ) still don't provide plain tea with cuppuccino, have only a few cakes and biscuits no other food.
    The coffees however are excellent.

Thanks for the tip.  I'm always on the hunt for good/interesting coffee, especially up this way (closer to Kalasin than KK).  I'm in KK quite often and can ask around.  Even better knowing the vendor is a roaster.

    Thanks again!

If anyone lives near Banphai in Khon Kaen province I can give you directions to a wonderful "real" coffee shop, the owner of which is number 9 in Thai coffee.    He produces his own roasted blends of coffee from countries including Thailand, Honduras, Guatemala etc.

What's the name of the shop?  Sounds interesting

The Mrs and I will be taking advantage of the closed borders to enjoy a quiet high-season touring Thailand - but - Phuket?  Not on our itinerary.  I imagine those business which are over-priced to begin with and those who ran scams in the past targeting foreigners will simply be even hungrier than ever.  Why dip a toe in those waters as typical Thai behavior is to raise prices when business turns bad.  Maybe I'm wrong.  Anyone living there, let us know if the price of a beer drops at your favorite watering hole or the price of food drops at your favorite restaurant during the border closures.
As usual the Mrs and I will bypass the tourism locations that used to cater to foreigners and head to those on the paths less travelled.  I just let the Mrs do the negotiating on prices and packages and limit my activity to chauffeuring.  It should be fun!

    Visa extension denied.....next.

    Kidding.

The exploring of paths less travelled and experiencing a more intimate adventure, sounds like the game plan for most
