  1. I am reading a lot lately about this new tax laws targeting mostly foreigners and income overseas. My question is... if I bring in 800k baht for the retirement visa will trigger a tax liability here? I already pay taxes in the US. Being taxed here again would be a deal breaker for me.
  2. I also used this company 2 months ago. Very professional and honest. As I got in the van the gentlemen said if my visa run fails he would return my money. Everything went smoothly and I will use them again for sure. Their website is a bit outdated. The photo is no longer required.
  3. 3200 is a fair price. If you got many covid extensions then I would definately use the agent. are you going from BKK or Pattaya? I found a van service for 3500, so your price is better and they even pick you up. Can you send me a private message with the contact? I will give them a call or LINE as I need to go this week.
  4. I have been going to the Ban Pakard crossing for 7+ years and I will go again this week. Depending on how many stamps or visa (ed visa, bogus volunteer) you have in your passport it is safer to use an agent. I only have 3 entry stamps in my current passport but I prefer to just use an agent, and if things don't go smoothly they can get a deal done to fix things. If you are alone you are basically on your own if something goes wrong. I recommend you do it on your own if you don't have too many stamps, visas, extensions in your passport. Please note if you arrive later than 11am it becomes more difficult to find a ride back to Bangkok because most minivan services go back to BKK before 11am. I was there 3 months ago and arrived too late. I could only find a mini van going to Pattaya so I took it and had to get on another bus to BKK. There are far fewer mini-vans compared to the pre-covid days. It will bounce back but not yet.
  5. Hello, a good friend of mine went back to the UK last night for the holidays and as he passed immigration he was stunned the immigration informed him he overstayed his visa. He has an elite visa and didn't know he had to exit the country once every 12 months, he was staying in Thailand for the past 15 months. The immigration officers were sympathetic but couldn't do anything, they said it happens quite often. He is blacklisted for 12 months. Is there anyway to appeal this? His elite visa is good for another 2 years. To add salt to the wound he had to pay 25,000 baht fine for overstaying.
