  1. This permit essentially “freezes” your visa’s validity, allowing you to return to Thailand without having to reapply for a new retirement visa. With a re-entry permit, you can freely travel in and out of Thailand without worrying about jeopardizing your retirement visa status.

Really? It does not mention anything of the expiration date of the stay permit stamp. I used to believe that the re-entry right have to be used at least one few days before the end of stay permit date stamp in the passport and new extension will start at the same day as the end date of the last stay permit date. Sombody here knows the facts about this?

  2.

I had to install 3M PM2.5 filter on the AC indoor unit fan and have it running 24/7 to get rid of the particles. It was done in the beginning of february 2023. I also swithed off the 10 inch Hatari fan that i used to keep alwas running drawing air trough the appartment from the other side trough 3M pm2.5 filter because when swithing on the fan the levels increases rapidly even if it filter 3M Pm2.5 from the air intlet. That was far away from getting rid of the PM2.5. so i better have the ventilation fan swithed off until period of better air quality outdoor. Windows and doors are always closed because i hate insects but a little air is entering naturally aspirated trough the air inlet trough the 0.5m2 big PM2.5 filter air inlet..

From June 2022 until mid october 2022 the air quality was fine even if the ventilation fan was running 24/7. The inlet air filter is changing color from white to black within a couple of months.

Measured in bedroom 20 km south of Hua Hin 500 meter from the beach with Airthings View Plus.

Image under showing air quality data starting June 2022 until 6.3.2023.

  3. The poster is warning us about that there is no testing and want us to be aware of that. So we can assume that everyone is infected without knowing it and the MOPH numbers of infected people is surtently not to be trusted as a source for information about how big the risk is that the people you meet everyday is infected or not.

  4. The norwegian air shuttle last airplane will leave thailand in the end of next month and after that there will be no more cheap flights from sweden, norway and denmark. 50% increase of exchange rate and rising living expenses in thailand including new double price for foregners in govnernment hospitals and no more cheap flight tickets make me think thailand will attract very few scandinavians in the years to come. Scandinavians dont like to go to india and if thailand will be little india in the future i will think thailand would be one of the least attractive tourist destinations for scandinavians and maybe most europeans. The immigration trouble for long stayers and 24 hours registration for every moment with fines will keep the retired away too. It will be intersting to see how thailand changes 10 year from now

  5. Masterplan A should be very simple and as follows:

Changing the karan (silent letter sign) to must be spoken out loud!

Introduce a L sound final letter in the thai alphabeth as today it is transformed to N making football to be spoken as footbon. Thai alphabeth is huge and a few extra letters making it possible to write correct english with thai letters would make it a lot more easy to teach to pronounce english

Many Thai teachers speak "sick" same ways as six and never let the student know the difference. 99% of all thais i have met are singing "happy birthday TU YU, with av very strong U,  but explaining that they should use a different named thai vocal อือ instead of อู then singing the song suddently becomes much more easy and correct. This is the most important basic knowledge a teacher should have before being allowed to teach english.

Native speakers is not always the best to teach language to children especially in Thailand. They maybe using to many complicated words and it will actually slow the students down.

The big problem is that many teachers are going to fast and keeps going on teaching high level english to the students that cant make a single phrase in english at the most basic level. A non native teacher but with western tongue teaching basic english with the right sounds can be very helpful as the first step as there possibly could get 100 000 teachers in a very short time. Thinking of a lot of expats living in thailand that have a lot of free time and would love to help getting the students ready before they meets a teacher that teaching advanced english. If expats on retirement visa are allowed to teach thai teachers it would be a great benefit for the country

After learning basic english then the english native teachers can teach those studens that are ready for that. Many 5 years old children learn very fast from another 6 years old but meeting a adult teacher wanting to teach 10 000 words within a lession is not the best way to learn

When i was doing my exam for the driver license when the leader of the staff said she has been studying 30 years but was not able to speak english. I did the exam in both english and thai and found that the exam in the computer in english was incorrect. I did the exam in thai afterwords and pointed out the conflicts with the "correct" answers in the english version. She said that she never before had understood why many farang complained and she was very impressed that i was able to do the thai exam and explain the the differences to her. I started studying thai language at a language school but after i had learned all the thai fruit names i decided it was not helpful as i could not speak with any people, so i started studying at home and learning to communicate with real people as a mother teachers her baby and progress from there on.

  6. The stamp did not mention anything about land border. It mentioned that you arrived on a flight With air asia and that you been denying entry because of that you dont have Money to live and did not had Money in cash With you.

    Reason:

    The first stamp says:

    • ไม่มีmâi meedon't have ; there isn't
    • ปัจจัยbpàt-jaifactor ; cause ; means
      requisite
    • ยังชีพyang chêepsupport life ; sustain ; maintain

    And the second stamp:

    • ไม่มีเงินmâi mee ngernbe penniless ; be broke ; be short of money
    • ติดตัวdtìt dtuain hand ; on my person

  7. I pay the PEA bill With the truemoney app. The first time i scanned the barcode on the bill. After the first bill is paid all the following bills will come up by itself in the truemoney app every month and it is just for me to click on it to confirm the payment. I hope in the future the same will happen to the PWA bills. I have to scan them every month to pay them and they will come every month even if no water is used for many months in a row. The bills for both the electricy and water can be viewed in their Android app so when i have to abroad i open up the PWA app for water to see the barcode for my latest bill and pay it With truemoney app that is installed on another phone. There is no fee for paying bills With truemoney

Except that the hole in the plug and the outlet do not align properly. Damage to the outlet will ensue.

    DO NOT DO THIS!!

i do this and there is absolutely no problem doing this. I dont have to force the plug into position and the device is grounded properly. There is absolutely no damage to the outlet and i inserted and pulled the plug houndreds of times already. The earth pin in the plug is not tightened and because it is smaller in diameter it fits pretty well into the outlet. The diameter on my earth pin is about 2 mm smaller than the true thai plug earth pin diameter

  9. If you offer compensation you admit that you have done something wrong. The dog owner will remember this and hate you no matter how much money you are paying. The dog owner must understand that he himself was wrong to let the dog out in the traffic! The only thing you can do for helping him to find peace in mind is to not pay and have him to understand that he himself was irresponsible and he himself set the dog at risk. Dogs and human babies are the responsibility of the parents and owners. Dont pay! The immigration officer offered you that he will take care of this situation for you. Let the immigration officer do the talking. Please dont be a fool "bribing" the owner, that makes you simply look like a weak farang fool and give everyone a reason to disrespect you (and your thai family if you have). Lazy thai dogs usually only run fast like this if they are trying to bite, so maybe it was just good that it is dead before it bites someone

  10. I was refused at pedang besar because i entered malaysia from thailand with the morning train and later after spending half a day in malaysia i was returning by foot to pedang besar land border. I refused the motorcycle taxi and the motorcycle guys run ahead of me waiting at the immigration. Then he told me to go with him and he lead me to the supervisor office. I asked the female supervisor if i was taken in because i refused the motorcycle ride and she said "yes". She behaved somewhat like i would imagine a south korean military officer. She said i can not enter thailand on the same day as i was leaving. A strange thing is that the motorcycle guy was in the supervisor office the whole time!

  11. I bought a car and a couple of motorcycles and i paid in cash. I have no loan, pay no interest fee to anyone. I pay 1000 baht for one year internet and 2500 baht a month rent for 45m2 for nice appartment near the sea. I pay up one year in advance 30 000 and the houseowner are very happy. So, expenses are 31000 a year plus food and 1000 baht a month for gasoline. We make our food at home to get the safest, freshest and cleanest food. I think it is absolutely not nessecery to have a regulation that have to force me to transfer 65 000 baht to my thai account every month at todays exchange rate when i absolutely are not in need of that money at all. I just does not want to transfer money to thailand now! The exchange rate are just TERRIBLE now and the cost of thai baht are up 51,57% in 5 years compared to NOK and SEK! (Norway and Sweden)
