  1. This would be different if the gf came from money. BiB tends to be less lazy if the victim's family knew their superior or knew someone the superiors don't want to disappoint.
  2. I can see the frustration of the driver, but trying to force her into taking the ride is silly, not to mention kidnappy. There should be a rule like when you order stuff online, a cancellation period before item ships. So maybe customer should be allowed to cancel with no charge if cancelled within 5mins of calling for the taxi. If after that the customer should pay half fares to cancel.
  3. I'm just wondering how the "accident" happened. Who did the gun belong to, was Mrs Su cleaning it and it went off or was it fired in an arguement and she didn't really mean to kill Mrs Phra. Still stand by my original theory. If the forensics is correct. Mrs Su shot Mrs Phra then continued to live in the house for two more days before committing suicide with the same weapon. The fact that Mrs Phra was in unnderwear speaks of out-of-work relationship going on here. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't be walking around in underwear with my employee in my house.
  4. So suspected Manslaughter/Suicide then. Interesting that they were both in underwear/sleepwear. Just spitballing, but it looks like Mrs. Phat was having an improper "workplace" relationship with her secretary Mrs. Su
  5. Looks like he'll be spending some time at his majesty's pleasure and then hopefully get deported to spend some more time at his other majesty's pleasure šŸ˜
  6. I would expect the Thai person to be thrown in prison, but it depends on the wealth of the attacker. If it's a poor Thai they might even get harsher punishment with longer lockup time, but if they're wealthy they can afford better lawyer and might get off lighter. That's just the realities of adversarial justice systems. With a foreign convict, again it depends on the wealth, but theres the added dimension of deportation, but that's true of any crime commited by non-natives in countries not their own. As for the media outrage part, it depends if the media picked it up to begin with, Thai are some of the most active on their social media so I would expect outrage, but it would be directed more at the individual since there's no option to deport.
  7. Not sure if it applies here, or if the guy is just having a mental break, and/or on something or is generally psychotic. There's a rise in retiree crimes commited out of loneliness and want for attention. Maybe he's one such case, maybe he arrived in Thailand thinking he would find companionship and didn't, which led to mental health deterioration, commiting crime might be a cry for help and a ticket back home for family or just his own countrymen to have to interact with him.
  8. What is with all this Whataboutisms? One crime doesn't have to do with the other. Man did vile crime, he should face the consequences and do hard time and deported. And what's the point of the end comment? I don't follow the logic. Every country has people who mistreat people, that's not special license for immigrants/visitors or anyone to misbehave.
  9. What's going on with these Swiss men recently... Is there a shortage or did something get into their chocolate?
  10. What, like paraded naked around the streets of Phuket with monk following repeatedly shouting Shame, Shame, Shame?
  11. If Thailand really must have subs, better to do a deal with S.Korea or Japan for their diesel-electric subs.
  12. Buying submarines from the Chinese when the Chinese are the most likely belligerent force in the South China Sea isn't a great idea anyway. Using the engine issue as the excuse to back out of the deal is the best move.
  13. Because unlike in the US, most cops don't like to use any kind of weapon, lethal of not and would rather talk suspects down.
  14. Well that was vetoed by Russia and China at the UNSC meeting, Thailand isn't on the UNSC And for whatever reason UN haven't seen fit to call a general assembly on the Myanmar civil war, i.e. no one really cares what's happening in Myanmar.
  15. It's their country, as a visitor you need to be on your best behaviour as you would expect of visitors to your home.
  16. Look, but don't touch! Plenty of other things you can look at and touch in Thailand ????
  17. From the aftermath photo of where the cars ended up, the Madza seems to be on the correct side of the road, while the Ford's rear looks to have swung out to the left after collision, leading me to thing the Ford was on the right-side lane where it shouldn't have been, but then again I'm no crash forensics expert. It could have been that both were driving too much in the middle by the looks of it.
  18. Lets not jump to conclusions, could have easily been the Nord who forgot and drove on the wrong (right) side of the road. Or got distracted by the wife doing something.
  19. If the numbers of fatal cases are comparable to Dengue and Influenza then there's not much cause for alarm. Just have to accept it's become an endemic virus because the world as a whole failed to mount a unified effort to eradicate it. Maybe we can eradicate it one day if/when enough people get vaccinated like we did with Smallpox and Polio. Keeping track and publishing numbers can have a negative effect on people's mental health, especially in those already suffering from anxieties.
