  1. Some offices are very strick. CW being one. OP, how long was your account 5k short. Do you have another Thai bank account in your name only Edit: after reading post above by @Liquorice it seems that you may have withdrawn funds in the months where you are permitted to be as low as 400k
  2. Strange post. Thai immigration set the rules. There are non Thai wife can "piggyback" on husband permission of stay. Example husband with extensions based on retirement. BTW in example mentioned the wife needs to enter on non O
  3. Do you have anything to add to this thread of a random post from unknown chap without screenshot of stamps etc Going nowhere
  4. No. The alien as defined in paragraph one shall include those who being granted multiple-visa who leaves and returns to the Kingdom with specified time in the visa, and those with re-entry permit.
  5. It's 45 days at a few. Up to 30 days at most offices. He can obtain extension after he returns.
  6. You can obtain extension after you return. Note: you will need to obtain a reentry permit. You can do that at local immigration office or at airport the day you fly out
  7. Citizens of those countries no longer can obtain "income letter" from their embassies however can still use income method by showing 12 monthly deposits of 65k+
  8. Which country has you send in your passport for renewal purposes.
  9. Bit off topic but here are couple of tips for e-visa application for Vietnam. 1. Before you even start application take picture of ID page of passport and also passport size photo. Even a selfie Crop them. 2. Select your dates of travel. In my case 30 days for a single. If you accidentally enter longer than 30, no problem as it prompts you to enter period 30 days or less. The application does not requure flight details. 3. Warning: The application can be "parked" and completed later. In my experience (twice) the length of stay was changed by the programe itself. So at the Pay page make sure you review. 4. When you confirm details...It asks for first name and surname. Make sure that in the "first name" you include your middle name. In other words exactly as it appears in passport. The fee is $25usd for single entry tourist visa and $50usd for 3 month multi entry. I used debit card (mastercard) Process time 5 days (approx) . The link to use for applicaction is given earlier by sandyf. You need to print out hard copy of the e-Vias when it's emailed to you. BTW they email you if there is an error. In my case did not include middle name So simple.
  10. I applied for 30 day tourist visa for Vietnam 10 days ago using government web site. Took 5 days to process. Applied on a Monday and received e-Visa approval later in the week Friday.
  11. Yes good news ....however what was so difficult to enter visa exempt and obtain Non O at local immigration office
  12. I was not aware of that. So you plan to apply for another tourist visa? With your history that wold not be an issue to enter Thailand. You should not be questioned, however having a clear itinerary eg concerts etc is very helpful. Initial hotel booking etc useful. Forget bribe money that will not be necessary. However have 20k baht or equivalent currency on you. Welcome to Thailand
  13. Thanks for update. Making NZ charges seem ridiculous or serious error. Even more so when a 3 month multi to Vietnam is 50 usd
  14. Baiting question ? Cost of agents for extensions based on retirement is an old chestnut and disclosed in many threads. Point of your question?
  15. I don't agree with this. Granted #2 might be possible and have read very rare reports of that. #1 By far the norm. #3 is a given (last resort) Also based on all the reports regarding this situation , yes immigration would have final say however it's the airline that would be yay or nah for flight to airport the person in question requests. In any event red herring
  16. I have read reports that basically state that their immigration office just wanted to see bank statements that the 65k came per month on a consistent date. That's it. Also read many where immigration office insisted on back up info . I can understand that immigration can claim rental income is not a guarantee source of income. In my case just by example (not a brag) . I have several rental properties and super fund (shares) ...I wanted to change to income method. So I changed my super fund set up to monthly income. Didn't need it but was done to be able to show immigration. In ironic twist have decided to used agent ongoing for extensions
  17. So you are UK. Your embassy does not provide income letter. You will need to use funds in the bank method for first extension based on retirement. Even if you could show 12 months of 65k transfers....that would be dubious as in your case the income is from investments rather than pensions. Regarding your friend....for marriage he can use money in the bank 400k. It only needs to be in bank for 2 months prior to extension and under consideration period. Then can be used/withdrawn as he wishes. Sweet deal.
  18. That is not my understanding. Denied entry you are flown back to airport that you departed from. Almost no exception.
  19. Have not heard that before but get your drift. The thing is ...if refused entry, the onward ticket is of zero help even if a real ticket and exit from same airport as arrival. It would be a cheap no change of departure date etc. I always assumed it was done by airlines to lessen any fines. Perhaps that's incorrect.
  20. Sadly the great man ubonjoe has past and this forum so misses our #1 man
  21. @Upnotover posted 45 days visa exempt and he knows his stuff. No need to obtain visa if not required. You also mentioned stay for only another month or 2. You could consider a border bounce. Depends where you are located in Thailand.
  22. I understand the confusion. Being Northern Irish thinking you have a British pp. If that's the case you should be visa exempt to Vietnam. As I stated earlier even if you need a visa, it's very simple process. Back to your main question re exit and reenter thailand visa exempt that would work. If you haven't been to Saigon feel free to pm for advice. Would you go alone or travel with family
