I think I'll just get a visa for Vietnam just to be on safe side jack.
@Upnotover posted 45 days visa exempt and he knows his stuff.
No need to obtain visa if not required.
You also mentioned stay for only another month or 2.
You could consider a border bounce.
Depends where you are located in Thailand.

Northern Irish Jack so it's a British passport I hold does that change it ?
Thanks again
I understand the confusion.
Being Northern Irish thinking you have a British pp.
If that's the case you should be visa exempt to Vietnam.
As I stated earlier even if you need a visa, it's very simple process.
Back to your main question re exit and reenter thailand visa exempt that would work.
If you haven't been to Saigon feel free to pm for advice.
Would you go alone or travel with family

Once I was issued the three month Non O, I could extend for one year using the THB 65,000 monthly deposit.
Did you provide embassy income letter.

Thanks a million dr Jack greatly appreciated. I dont suppose you know if I need a visa to enter Vietnam. I have read I do and read I don't .
Thanks
Passport country?
I checked your profile. Irish?
If yes then you need to obtain 30 day tourist e-visa.
Very simple. I just received mine. 5 days process. $25 usd.

You don't have a visa.
You have an extension.
You can go to Vietnam and stay few days and return visa exempt and obtain another 30 day stamp.
Are you eligible for visa exempt entry to Vietnam
That can be extended by 30 days.
Since that will be another entry to Thailand you can again obtain a 60 day extension to visit wife.
How long do you wish to stay in Thailand

Not in my IO at Korat they were not when i had my stamps transferred in 2015. My ''ridiculous'' comment was aimed at the requirement by your IO, i just can't see the need for such information but i do understand that some IO's appear to act on their own requirements.
And I did not need bankbooks when I did transfer of stamps to renewed pp in 2016
At CW you do now.
Note in my first post I put this information out as an "Aside": information for folk transferring stamps at CW

and what i posted was not facts that you stated.
That's because you are wrong.
The bank book and photocopies are requured for transfer of stamps.
BTW the balances were very carefully checked.

Ridiculous, WTF has a bank book got to do with passport renewal and stamp transfers
I'm telling you what occurred to me 2 weeks ago at CW.
I had the bank book with me as I had read reports of CW requiring this for transferring visa info and stamps from old to new pp.
My experience confirms this.
Please post facts rather than anything Ridiculous

From your response it is implied that in order to switch from the 'Funds-in-Bank' method to 'Monthly-income-transfer' method, that you need to show full compliance for BOTH methods in the 12 months preceding your application for the 1-year extension
Being Oz I cannot obtain the income letter
If I could, then thinking compliance with the money in bank requirements and embassy letter and perhaps couple of months transfers would be sufficient.
Someone who has actually done the process can outline what they did.
Aside note for others.
Recently obtained new pp and had stamps transferred..
CW made me photocopy all pages of bank books.
Perhaps a worry for someone using an agent for annual extensions

Presumably if he applied for a visa at the embassy or online they would tell him that he has been banned and reject the application.
Yes and even if he was successful with obtaining a tourist visa, I suggest he enter via land border so if refused entry not a horror show compared to denied entry at Thai airport

They said it would take 7 days to process and it must be picked up in person.
It also takes time at CW. They say up to 2 weeks and cost is 200b and it's mailed out.
So not issued on the spot is not uncommon.
BTW: for TDL you will require a certificate of residence.

OP, I am actually changing from money in bank to income.
I have the 800k in the bank and I also started the 65k transfers when obtaining my current extension last October.
I will be able to show compliance to money in bank along with 12 months of deposits.
Then next extension use income method.
Thinking your friend will need to start over.
Border bounce visa e empty entry and obtain the Non O at local immigration office showing his 12 month of transfers

And no I do not know the answer
I return April 8 and will check at arrivals if I can have the stamp transferred.
After that trip I again depart out of DMK few weeks later.
I will then post for others my experience.
Then you will know the answer.

What about the financial requirements for converting to a single non-O (Marriage) in country?
Depends how long he needs to have money in place.
He is aware of the 60 day extension to visit wife and assume aware of 30 day extension to visa exempt entry.
If he plans to obtain both of those extensions he should do the 30 day first.
Single entry from Savannahket starting to sound good.
Not clear if his embassy provides income letter.
-
You are slightly confused.
The single entry you refer to is actually a Non O based on marriage.
That gives you a 90 day stamp.
In last 30 days with minimum 15 days remaining on stamp you can apply for 12 month extension.
Yes you can apply for 60 day extension to visit wife.
You do not need to obtain Non O in Savannahket, you can enter Thailand visa exempt and obtain the Non O at your local immigration office.
Does your country provide "income letter" you could use income method instead of money in bank method.

Someone applying in the e-visa system on the 19th, could apply in Wellington and elsewhere (and deleting the application before paying if necessary) to be able to post a screen shot of the cost for two different locales.
We will know in few days.
Thinking you reported this on previous thread.
Ridiculous increases from NZ evisa.
We all hope this is serious error and other countries do not have same Ridiculous increases.

Thank you DrJack54. It would be good if posts remained on topic as they seem to have devolved.
As few have posted in various threads NZ seems to be outliner.
Let's hope this is just serious error

I'm a little concerned about the next one though. I just received the reminder email saying it was due on April 1st.
Your due date should be 90 from your recent 12 month extension date.
That's only because you had new non O and obtained extension.
Don't wish to sound negative but the OP is dealing with CW and you Jomtien

What does that actually mean ? if you don't mind me asking Why would anybody need a "base" in Thailand if travelling around Asia ? and what form would this "base " take? would you maintain some form of rented accommodation here whilst day tripping (or longer) to Laos and Cambodia sounds a bit bizarre to me but each to their own
Doesn't sound bizarre to me at all.
If he opts for cheap digs in Thailand on a monthly rental...makes perfect sense to travel to other Asian countries and maintain his Thai rental

Please be careful making assumptions that people are "unfamiliar" with 90 day reporting. I use no agents ever and do all my immigration business myself.
So for advice for others ...
Which immigration office have you had zero issues with online reporting.
Have you been able to do online reporting after trip outside of Thailand.
You also mention out of Thailand 2022+3
There are countless reports of no success using online.
Personally have had 3 rejection and need to report in person, and yes I use autofil (magnifying glass)
Mail in no issue.
So which immigration office?

18 minutes ago, StandardIssue said:
It is nothing new that they discourage this with the exception that they are clamping down on immigration policy and starting to enforce the ever changing, evolving and stricter immigration rules.
What immigration rules are your referring to.
Yes there exists 2 visa exempt land border entries per calendar year.
There is no such rule for visa exempt entries via air.
Thailand could easily set more definitive rules.
They opt not to.

4 minutes ago, StandardIssue said:
What difference would that make? Why would mail in be approved and online not approved?
You are unfamiliar with 90 day reporting history.
In person and via mail virtually bullet proof.
Reporting online has been hit and miss for years.
Almost weekly reports on this.
Failure even moreso at CW which is the OP situation.
How have your TM47 reports been working out?
