Not sure about first question but would guess yes. As for the other two I say no. If your visa is good until the 28th no need to make an extra trip. As for grilling at mudahkan it's highly unlikely I do my 90 border runs at Mae Sot except for my annual run to Savanaket never been questioned about anything anywhere I've crossedCurrently on a retirement extension, next and final 90 day report due 7th June 2019, extension of stay permitted until 28th June 2019. Retirement extension was done through an agent where the visa was obtained at an upcountry office however have subsequently changed my address to Bangkok and has been officially changed on previous 90 day reports. Considering going back to apply for a multi entry non imm O based on marriage to a Thai (have been married for 12 years). Have insufficient funds to do an extension at CW so plan is to go to Savannakhet prior to 28th June to apply My questions are,
1. Should I do a 90 day report on the 7th June?
2. Should I obtain a re entry permit prior to leaving Thailand to go to Savannakhet (around 25th June), or is this not necessary?
3. Possible grilling on leaving Thailand via land border at Mudkahan given my retirement visa was obtained via an agent upcountry?

This tm30 is new to me. My wife and I built a house on her land. Both our names are on the paperwork but I assume she is my 'landlord'. I don't need to check in every 90 days with my io as I leave every 89 days in accordance with my marriage visa. So my question is do I need to advise them of our New address and what paperwork do we need

I'm in Savanaket as I type waiting to pick up my new visa. They did not ask for anything regarding finances. I only had one photo so I had to go across the street and get a new picture taken. Got 12 passport pictures got 100thb
I did a multi-entry O based on marriage 5 months ago and NO income verification was required.

I got mine in October 2017 and it renewed itself automatically. It is truly unlimited as I have used over 30 gigs a month nearly every month and it's never slowed down. It does run 642B a month and only get 200 minutes phone time. After 6 months I got overseas service automatically included at 3b a minute. What I've found is that all of these so-called "unlimited" packages are really false advertising. From what I've seen, all of those packages come with a set limit of data for which you get the full speed, and once you hit that data limit you're getting throttled.
Nothing to do with "unlimited".
Ironically, that isn't actually documented alongside those offers. Found out only after a couple call center calls.

Keep in mind Savanaket is a two day process turn in papers one morning pick them back up next dayDoes anyone know what the current requirements are for a marriage visa?
400k in bank or 65k monthly?
I read somewhere there's a consulate in Laos which does not require any financial proof for a marriage visa. Is that true?

Some of us do.I just wonder why people just don’t go to Savannakhet and get a new visa every year since I hear they don’t require proof of income??? There must be a reason.

No it's 5000thbI just looked at the Savannakhet Thai Consulate website and only see the fees for single entry. Have they stopped issuing multi entry based on marriage?

You do know you can get a 30 day extension on a visa on arrival but it costs 1900thb like every other extensionThanks for your reply. I had a Multiple Entry Non-O which expired in August and so the next exit I did in October was on an expired visa and same day return I got a 30 day walk in entry stamp (the 1st one for the year) valid till November 26th upon which I did a 2nd exit and walk in and again got a 30 day entry stamp but unlike previous years there was no written or verbal notification as to the 2 walks per year limit. As I thought I was going to be leaving to go home for Xmas I didnt bother inquiring further but now I'm not going so I thought I'd check into it before going the 1900bht 60-day extension of stay route for the time being.

Depends on what type visa you have. Non o multiple entry is no problem but if visa on arrival there is limit. Keep in mind this is last month of calendar yearIs anyone aware of any updates on the subject of the previous announcement of unlimited land border crossings?
On November 26th 2018 I did a 2nd land border crossing at Maesai/Tachilek but unlike previous years I didn't get any written or verbal notice regarding having reached the calendar year limit for border crossings. I was just waved through as per normal procedure.
I will check with immigration but thought I check in here first to see if anyone had any relevant information.

Sorry wrong bridge I meant in chaing kong. It's 36USD I got for 1100thbI paid $35 last month (USA). Bought USD exact-change for this purpose. Not surprised some guy asked for more, though.
The fellow was probably angry about people paying USD, so he cannot pocket the mark-up on the lousy Baht-rate.

Oops that's at chaing kong crossing my bafThere's also one next to the bus stop in Thailand before you cross the bridge which I've found has better rates

The initial run to obtain the visa is an overnighter after that it's an one hour trip from the bus station to the bridge and back but seems OP is trying to enjoy themselves and just not pop in pop out.seems like your "horror show " was due to the Thai immigration, for reasons unknown, why didn't you leave your wife and child in Thailand and go to Laos on your own and get a non imm O visa?, no big deal to do a border hop as you say you live close by anyway .

I was told the same thing at my IO. 400k in the bank left alone for the most part. I use savanaket specifically because they don't ask anything about the money. I actually depending on the exchange rate make a little under 40k a month. Been thinking about that 1000thb to depart, could it have been for your vehicle. Good luck and try to enjoy your border runs I've use 3 different crossings with no hassle. Mae sot is closest to me but you must get an e-visa b4 you go. Takes about 3 hours to get it after you pay the 50usd. My visa must be used by 6 Feb and my current card expires on 28 Jan which will give me almost 15 months on the 1 year visa (I have asked 3 different IO's when returning from Laos and Myanmar so I feel confident in this regard

Yes it's a 1 year visa but you gotta do the border runs unless you have the cash in the bank. Also my immigration office said they can only do the 1 year extension if you have the cash in the bank. If you are using savanaket to avoid the financial requirement then this is your only option. But as long as you go and come back before the 'must use by' state you get almost 15 months on the 1 year visaIt was my understanding that I will receive a Non O based on marriage that is good for 1 year. Is that not the case?
If so and if I understand correctly, when back in Thailand I should go to Immigration and have my Marriage Visa extended for 1 year. This will negate the Visa runs?

That is indeed odd they want B1000 to leave. The wife and I have been thru there many times and never had to pay. Glad you got the multiple entry but there is no way to avoid that 90 day border run with either visa. They only exit I've had to pay is B30 if you go on the weekend for overtime fee and that was to get out of Laos

Only problem with this is you are only allowed 3 borders runs per calender yearMarrying in Thailand to a woman you married in the UK might be fun, but can you marry in Thailand if you're already married? Would it matter if you were marrying the same woman? Getting an annulment in the UK and then marrying in Thailand might be a little convoluted but it would keep the bureaucrats happy.
Of course, by the time you did this, you might have saved the 400K needed to extend a garden variety non-im O single entry.
Worst case scenario: instead of paying 5,000 and making four border bounces, you pay 2,000 and make four visa runs at 2,000 plus a hotel. That's annoying but not infuriating.

I'm not totally sure about that 7 day extension but as long as you leave before it expires I see no reason it wouldn't be cool. Watch for ubonjoe to respond and take his word as gospel.
