  1. My system.  Four color shaded files and one binder.  Cost:  26  THB.  Clear:  for the application and photo.  Pink:  P for passport copies, including TM30, departure card, and last 90 day report.  Blue:  B for bank letter, and stamped copies of bank book.  Yellow:  Y for Yellow Book copies and/or anything else that may prove address.

    My interview took seven minutes.

  2. In CM, you can use fixed deposits, and most banks have no way of updating them on the day of your letter, unless you add 50K.  I get copies of my book stamped and dated along with the letter.  ATM can't attach to fixed deposit accounts, so that doesn't need to be ruled out, like it does with savings accounts.  Banking in BKK and getting extensions in Phuket may actually win this weeks Hardway Club:  Stories of Retiree Martyrdom Award for wasting a ridiculous amount of time, money, and travel.  No wonder you use an agent.

    This week in our homeschooling:

My Daughter learned to distinguish Common and Proper Nouns in English, continued with her Roman Invasion of Briton in History, Science looked at dry and wet habitats, Geography learned how O/S map symbols make maps easier to read.

My Son continued his learning of single digit addition ( quite a good game here to learn base 10, its called fruit splat place value ) and phonic reading the free e-books on the Oxford Owl website.

Have you given Monopoly a try?  We played it 50 years ago, and I noticed they still play it at some language schools.

certainly it is not true in the uk

Sorry my friend it is true here the numbers from the UK have dropped dramatic and most people you talk to have nothing but bad things to say about the place, even Thai's living here slag it off and would not ever move back. Big changes in the last 4 years, even I am surprised at the comments made about the land of scams sorry smiles Nowadays I do not recommend the place to fellow Brits as I know what they are saying and its not nice.

Four years?  That's about when the gay British teacher cliques starting disappearing.. only because they were shown the door, even though they were more than willing to work for 2 GBP per hour, fake degrees and all.  Good riddance, plenty of sour grapes.  Thai lefty elites loving London..not surprising, they would eat a pile of goat Shiite if they thought it was HiSo.  Plenty, of other, Eurotrash, filling the white face void here..word is the Thai kids can actually understand the Ukrainians, but not the majority from inbred island.

  5. If their site was accessible to minors, then it surely would be covered by laws regarding nude photographs and minors.  Saw a guy get 10 years for sending a nude picture of himself to a student.  Trump helped out the blacks against his better judgement and is likely regretting it, even though he was in China at the time.  He has taken a lot of flak from the militant gay lobby, and it is safe to say he will not mention it.  My informal survey shows four out of five Americans would like to see them caged for a while.  A higher number in Thailand.  Thai citizens certainly do not get a free pass for crimes they commit in the US.

Although we are talking about something a bit more than just being an assistant .

She would have to walk down the street with you , holding hands and things like that

Finding one that doesn't want to be seen with you around town is better than hitting the lottery and much easier.

There it is again. Toxic homophobia. Must be fun to think you're morally superior. Emphasis on think. You most definitely aren't.

How did you know I was talking about you?  Perhaps, because it describes you to a T (cell, or lack thereof).

They will be prime candidates to become a part of California's Sex Offender Registry.  Seen people charged with felonies for urinating in public....except it was considered indecent exposure...most definitely a sex crime.

Glad you got it resolved.. You can always use PromtPay.  and all you need to enter is your mobile phone number..

BTW, I have used Bangkok Bank for 10 years as they provide the easiest way for me to transfer funds from the US.  BUT, when paying bills online, BKK Bank charges 20 - 25 Baht for each payment.

Last week I opened an account with SCB. They do not charge per payment and they show you who payments are made to. BKK Bank just shows 3 digit codes that you need to figure out what they are..

They offer an economy service that is 12 THB...for transfers to an account number anyways....like my condo fee.  I use auto debit for PEA..and that is all I have.

  9. Not naming any names, but I think the few posters here that proclaim their sexual preference every chance they get, or start every post with "my partner and I".... should go to the Bang Yai Lockup and bring their fellow (or fella) gay militants some condoms or even a chastity belt with a seven digit combo.  Maybe also take responsibility for promoting immoral acts in a foreign country or period.

Well SaneMax, it is NOT easy to walk into a reasonably crowded place, where everybody stares at you.  Then walk up to someone, " Hi ya kid, how you're goin'".  Of course I'm exaggerating, but it is not easy.

According to the nurse at the clinic, the ladyboys take Zanax to reduce inhibitions. Just a thought.

  11. Two votes against Barry Soetoro and one against Hillary were my actions against Chicago style corruption.  There is absolutely no need to use agents at 90% of the offices in Thailand, that is what is annoying.  However, the noose seems to have loosened since last year.  Two of the four paid sitters left empty handed and there is a group of them camping there every night.  Nice to see them lose their game.  Maybe the new, neighboring offices have helped out a lot, maybe many hit the exits.  The biggest change was how few people!e were getting thirty day extensions...so a lot of those people were chronic runners and it is also nice to see them sent elsewhere.  I think the need for an agent is somewhat of an urban myth.  Never did I feel like the IO was playing any game our was pouting that I got off easy.  A lot of the problems come from Bangkok controlling their funding.  COR was just so out of hand, they had to do something.  500 THB?   not enough for a burger and a beer at Dukes.  No one screams about expediting fees at the US Passport Office....2000 THB?  or getting their liar letter stamped for 1750.  That is what should be eliminated, and that would make it a lot more pleasant for all of us.

  12. It was very quiet at Prom, yesterday. You could have got there at 9 and been done by ten.  I got a one year and was done by 9:40,_and got passport at 10:20.  Never have or will use an agent.  The guy after me said the IO spent seven minutes with me.

I walked 12 minutes to 1006 and got back near That Phae Gate for 15 THB.

  13. The problem with guides is they can't resist the temptation to steer you to things, where they get a commission.  This is especially true in the home rental business.  Saw a guy end up paying 30,000 a month for a four bedroom house in Hang Dong, when I think he would have been a lot happier in a 10,000 per month condo closer in.  People have to make a living, but you would be better off just talking to some local expats, wherever.  Was at a dive bar the other night and there was a sign on the wall advertising a 2 bedroom house near the airport for 5000 per month.  If you know the MOAT, you are already way ahead of first timers.  Some will say you need a car, others say you must rent a scooter, while others do fine with neither.  Acting like you need someone to hold your hand is a good way to get taken for a ride.  Some look at 10 apartments, and still pay too much, and still have complaints.  Others spend an hour finding a place and stay ten years.  Having specific questions is much better than, "I am new, help me."

Strange posts, please explain. Not sure what the three bears have got to do with it. And please "bear" in mind that the OP was related to reasonably priced gear.

Has anyone posting on here ever had a serious session i.e. eight pints or more? If you haven't.........

I do about 15 small....so yes, the writing is on the wall that paying 200 per beer is not going to work, especially when 3000 lasts me for a week of schmoozing and boozin.
