With all that's going on over there is anyone having any problems with the usual Mai Sai border crossing for passport stamps?

This was my second Kodak (it a free hand-me-down) but I'm throwing it in the Ping River and never getting another Kodak camera. Both have been nothing but problems. I'll check out the Casio and Sony's mentioned above but I see a lot of people with Canons and they seem pretty good. I'm going to do some research on the Web looking for reviews.
Thanks.

Thanks for the idea. I'll try that. First time I've had this problem. HATE KODAK CAMERAS NOW!!! Buying a new one after this transfer...

If anyone in the Chiang Mai area has a Kodak Easyshare camera I would like to borrow it for about 3 minutes. My camera died a few days ago and I want to put the memory card in another Easyshare and transfer the pictures to my comuter one last time.
Thanks.

I have friends who are going to travel to Cambodia and possibly Laos and Vietnam. I'm trying to find out how easy or hard it will be for them to get a SIM card and a GPRS connection to do internet connections. I haven't been to these countries in a few years so I'm not sure what the "state of the art" is. Does anyone have any experience with what's going on in any of these countries these days for GPRS? Ideally, it would be like Thailand where you can go to 7-11 and get a DTAC SIM card and be hooked up in minutes.
Thanks for any information!

I lost touch with someone from BKK who had a Sony DAT player I could borrow, lease, or buy. I'm trying to get back in touch to finish a project. I'm just trying to get a bunch of DAT tapes transfered over to my computer but I must have a Sony player for compatability reasons. If this gentlemen or anyone else can help me I'd appreciate it. I live in Chiang Mai. It shouldn't take too long but my Sony DAT is in the USA and is HEAVY (not a portable)and a pain in the ass to haul back to Siam. I would appreciate any help from anybody reading this.

Even thought it's quiet does anyone know if there's any problem getting the usual stamp crossing from Mai Sai? I might be going tomorrow.
