Sounds like someone (or two) was looking for a fight and found just what they where looking for...

Again, never enought or too little too late. Police in Thailand just don't like handling criminals. Would rather play peacemaker. My guess is the guy knew the girl. He'll be back. And when he really does do some damage, everyone will just point fingers.

Hopelessness, substance abuse, lack of mental healthcare, all of the above...

There are more than a few mentally unstable people roaming the streets. Thai and foreigners. Don't know how events unfolded here, but you can never be too careful around people you don't know. Sorry to say.

What! 🤯 A crooked Thai visa agent? It can't be 😂 😂 😂

What is deliciously hypocritical is that one of the five Buddhist precepts is "Abstain from the use of intoxicating substances that cause inattention." But if you sell it to someone else who is not a Buddhist I guess it's okay 😂

His "long time" gf must have truly loved him... So much so that she let him end up face down drunk in a watery ditch (while they were out drinking together) and didn't report him missing.

Fait accompli... Governor will not stand against the deputy PMs expectations. I for one, agree.

Drunk, mentally deficiency, or both... Definitely sad and gross. Human garbage is as human garbage does.

Due process. The only bad outcome would be if he keeps his visa. Good riddance 🤞

PI and Japan, however, would, could and should join any alliance that does not have China as a member.

Thailand is never ever going to join NATO. They would never risk the ire of China.

He's no more sick than any other 74 year old man is sick. He's just milking it for all it's worth to get out from under any accountability. Shameful but expected.

Of course someone tried to bribe her... This Swiss guy is pulling all the levers that all shady people in Thailand try to pull because they know they can. Bribery is a way of life here.

Gold bars and gold ornaments do not typically have the same purity. That's why bars are slightly more.

Statistics clearly skewed taking into account the large number of prostitutes in Thailand. 1000s would not be unthinkable...

Now on the street to wreck more havoc... why hotels do this without police taking the necessary actions (arrest and deportation) is indicative of the larger issue of lax/lazy law enforcement

There are even poorer farmers in Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar who are also burning their fields. Again, it's not forest fires as most people understand it, but semi-controlled burns by locals (a lot of them). But wouldn't be surprised if some do get out of control. No one is going to do anything about any of this. There is no political will (anywhere). Just excuses and finger pointing.

It's not something I want or need to see. People are strange. Sadly many of them choose Thailand. To be fair this would be offensive in nearly every country on the planet.

the criminal case against him may take seven years to finalise
That's an oddly specific number... Maybe if it takes long enough witness will die and disappear. Wouldn't that be convenient.

Given his decidedly ignorant handling of a 1000 baht disagreement, I'm willing to bet he consumed every bit of that 1000 baht in the form of alcoholic beverages 🍻 can only hope his foolishness will now cost him even more out of pocket in way of citations and fines. One can hope.

It's all the same people anyway. Most have accounts on both. Not sure how they will handle existing members status cross platform. Hardly important, really. I'm sorry to see this change, to be honest. Now there is no escape 😂...
