  1. Hi,

I live in Hua Hin and have previously had 2 retirement extensions and my last 2 extensions have been marriage ones. The marriage extensions require a lot of paperwork so i thought i might go back to a retirement extension if so do i need the 800,000 to be in my for account 2 or 3 months before applying?

And before anyone says anything i am presently in the uk so cannot go and ask them myself!

Where are you located? Maybe not in cm?

most of the small bikes I see in cm are renting for 200-250 a day.

don't know anything about the big bikes because I’d never ride one in the city, defeats the purpose of having a bike because the big bikes sit behind the car jamb a lot of times while the small ones weave to the front.

Not renting it to ride around town.

    Why ridiculous?

Small bikes usually go for 300 baht a day. A forza costs 3 times as much to purchase as well as maintenance, which would make it 900 Baht. Then take into account that a Forza willl spend more time just standing around in the shop instead of being rented out because most people rent smaller bikes.... and then you are at 1200 baht. Maybe you can find one for 1000, but finding one lower than this won't be easy, except maybe a run down 300cc model...

Ridiculous compared to the prices in Hua Hin!

You can try  calling e.g. CP, they rent m/bikes and also big scooters, good English. The prices might vary with rental durtion but I am afraid they will be not as economic as you hope. btw, I assume you already are in Thailand and have a Thai DL. If coming as a tourist from abroad, make sure you have an international driving permit from your country first.

Not my business, but if you intend to "get about", why not something in the 150-160cc range, they are just as good in town and definitely easier in the traffic and on the wallet.

I was not going to rent it to go on short trips.

Show-off maybe? See a lot of them around looking a little goofy. A 125 click is suffice. I’ve seen some pretty big porkers getting around just fine on the 125’s

I saw a new shop just the other day, Mango, that had bigger bikes just off huaykaew down the alley just past the shell station. By the looks of the shop I bet the prices are reasonable.

I was not renting a Forza to ride around CM central but was intending to go on a 3 to 4 hour trips on it to some different places so need something to put some luggage in. Also i have been riding bikes for over 40 years, i live in Thailand and had a Forza 350 till earlier this year and now have an XMAX 300 but thats not much use to me as i'm flying to CM. Also i find clicks very uncomfortable.

  6. Hi,

I am going to Chiang Mai in a couple of months and was thinking of renting a Honda Forza for about 4 days to get about on, however on looking at bike rental ads on google they are saying 1200 Baht a day which is ridiculous. Does anyone know some actual real prices and any bike rental recomendations.

  7. ,Hi, I hope someone here might be able to suggest a replacement for my Plumeria tree that is in my front garden. The tree is about 20 foot tall and whilst attractive i would like something different and also a tree that is not shedding leaves and flowers constantly.

So if anyone can suggest an attractive tree that does not need much maintenance and does not grow much larger than the present one i would appreciate it

As I said there was an ID Number printed on my appointment slip, I presume that's a number the hospital generated.
When I used it I received a reply saying I'm registered, albeit without confirming that the actual  vaccination date I'd been given back in May would actually go ahead, at least I know I'm in the system.

I entered the number on the back of the appointment slip starting 6000000****** in english and got the message that i was registered and to check the hospital website for updates!

In Hua Hin expats can register for vaccination at Bluport or Market Village. Starts at 10:30 (get there ahead of time). They issue numbers to get an appointment for vaccination & you return in about 1 1/2 hours to get the appointment form. When they have filled their quota for the day, they tell you to try again tomorrow. You need a completed form, original passport & photocopy. My appointment is for 8th july 15:00 @ Hua Hin hospital, not stated which vaccine. I am told applications run until 2nd june.

I registered there as well with an appointment for 7th July and was told by 2 people that it will be the Astra Veneca vaccine.

Should anyone be interested, i have found the "bike breakers"  near Phetchaburi by working my way along the road on Google maps. It is located on route 4 and on the left side of the road about 1.4kms past Kofuku Coffee and Bistro coming from Phetchaburi to Hua Hin.

I will have a ride there next week to see if they have what i need as i can't find anything nearer!

As an update to this i rode there today and as someone else commented it was just old scooter parts in there, if you have ten year old plus scooter you might find something but nothing newer!

When you think of all the bike accidents that happen every day in Thailand, just where are these damaged bikes going?????

    Is this the one :

    เอ ร้านซื้อขายรถมือสอง

Petchkasem Rd, Tham Rong, Ban Lat District, Phetchaburi 76150, Thailand

I don't see any phone number for them in Google Maps, could you get their number and post it please...

They are far from Phuket, but maybe I can arrange delivery. I would be interested to see if they have a Forza 2016 dashboard and how much they want for it...!?

    Cheers.

    Hi,

Looking on Google earth again at the shop/shed there are two phone numbers on the sign outside, 088 5433582 and 087 4022154. Hope this is of some use.

If the LCD display is a common fault then wouldn't a used one also be at risk?

Just bite the bullet and buy a new one. Spares are easy in Thailand. HuaHin probably has daily deliveries from Bangkok.

OR take the bike to a non - aligned mechanic and let him find one.

I have the polarizing film to repair the display but cracked mine removing it! I won't do that a second time.

I think I know the one you mean.  It is on the left as you leave Petchaburi.  More of a roadside shack than a shop.  I have been there and I doubt you will find what you are looking for there.  Mostly much older bike parts.

Poonsup market in Pathumthani would be a better bet for what you are looking for.  I don't know the exact address for Poonsup but it is within about 1km of the Stanley Auto elelectrical factory which you can probably find using Google.

Yes we are probably talking about the same place but it is a large shack! If its just outside Petchaburi i will have a ride up there next week. Poonsup Market is over 4 hrs from me so i'll leave that till a last option. Thanks

  15. Hi,

Does anyone no of a shop or breakers near or in Hua Hin that sells used scooter spares. I'm sure i have passed such a place on the main road from Bangkok to Hua Hin on the left side of the road but cannot remember how far out it was from Hua Hin? I need an Aerox speedo/display and apart from the expense of a new one there is also a delay due to Covid! I.m sure there must be others around, these scooters must go somewhere to die!
