  1. I used to have a Thai accountant lady submit my tax return. From memory I think it wasn’t more than 1000 baht for that particular document. The accountant also submitted my company tax return for about 3500 baht.

There are some though who try to charge three or four times that amount. I know because I fell for that scam when I first started filing returns in Thailand.

Just search for accountant or ask a Thai business owner for a referral to get a quote.

Madam said she didn't want one of the manual "slice when frozen" ones. We shall see how well it does the job.

Great but be careful with the fingers. A Spanish guy sliced through his fingers when I was a child and I will never forget that. Those machines make me cringe every time I see one because of the accidents that can happen.

Enjoy the bacon, but please keep yours(and wife’s) fingers safe!

At least, we have a "timeline"... 2 weeks per 2 weeks. ???? It helps.

The main problem is : even with 70 or 80 % of the population fully vaccinated... the virus could still be there.

Look at Israel (or Malta, or UAE etc.)

Massive (and early) vaccination program (started december 19) with Pfizer.

The idea that "vaccine = end of the problem = going back to normal" is deeply flawed.

Confronted to thoses facts (the vaccine do not prevent transmission and contamination, the herd immunity with a virus that mutates/recombines a lot and that has animal reservoirs is a fiction) countries start to think "differently" like Iceland or the UK... The virus will always be there, it's okay.

But I'm very concerned about Thailand... i'm not sure they can think out of the box... The "zero Covid" ideology is very strong in Asia and South-East Asia.

Add to this... the tense political situation (factorized by the economic and social situation)...

That's not a good cocktail recipe...

The only way out of a lockdown is either mass vaccination/herd immunity or unfortunately mortality on a larger scale.

Covid 19 like other viruses will now be around for the foreseeable future. It will require an annual vaccination similar to the annual flu vaccine to lessen the impact of contagion.

Vaccines are the answer. It’s a shame those who could have sourced vaccines much sooner, didn’t do because money is prioritized before life by those people.

  4. Don’t worry yourself half to death reading all the comments on Thaivisa or anywhere else on the internet.

Your concern does sound nerve related and therefore could be related to many causes from something as minor as a trapped nerve or cramped leg to something that maybe requires further attention. The good news is that whatever it is the doctors likely can diagnose it and treat it.

Generally speaking it’s better to get things checked out early if only for piece of mind. I’m sure you’ll agree that our health isn’t something worth gambling with.

Pay the money, commit the time and get it checked out buddy..

    Best of luck ????

  5. The problem is the OTP code being sent to a Thai number to confirm transactions. For this reason I always maintain an AiS number in a separate phone whilst I’m abroad so I keep a separate phone setup for all my Thai apps with a roaming number. Yes you have to pay the monthly AiS fee but you can manage all Thai apps including banks, utilities, line account etc from the Thai registered phone.

Totally echo your sentiments; freezing our State Pensions whilst donating vaccines to a military dictatorship is total hypocrisy.  If we were starved back to UK, it would cost the motherland far more in social security benefits. All Brits should write to him and express our collective ire.

Uk taxpayers will be paying out of their noses for this for the next decade..….even those that are pensioners..

    ..will you be contributing too?

Can not do that or the Baht would definitely slide and erode compared to the slow decay it has seen.  Just transferred my 6 months of funs from the US and had an exchange rate of 32.63 THB to $1 USD.  So it has eroded in the past few months.

Exactly. If the baht holds strong against foreign currencies the rich become richer. Meanwhile the poor suffer the full force of the consequences.
