  1. You are all so negative, I met a beauty on Tinder whose Rich Uncle had just died and she wanted my help transferring the inheritance in to Thailand. I sent her all my bank details etc and she is moving the money over next month when she comes to visit me. Start to trust people you have a much better chance of finding true love, just like I did.

    And not running currently.

At least that is what a friend in Jomtien told me and the website still shows a "suspended" message.

Bell Bus to northern bus terminal not running for sure.

I am currently considering a trip to Pattaya and will end up with driving by car.

Two return drives to airport by car (total 400 km, ~600 Baht fuel), return flight to Suv. ~ 3200 Baht (have become expensive), taxi to Pattaya both ways about 2600 Baht. So round about 6400 Baht.

So I will jump in the car. No fun but worth the savings.

I drive down quite alot, I usually stop at Nakon Sawan for the night and travel to Pattaya on day 2. 2 x 5 hour drives. Decent enough roads and you can avoid Bangkok and come out on the motorway near Swampy. No hassle really.

I think Viet jet air to suvarnabum would be more convenient.

Prices are 950-1400 depends how many days before you book it.

+ I guess more chance to get cheaper taxi or grab from there in case minivan is not available.

The bus to pattaya from swampy is only 120thb and drops you at the 24 supermarket in Jomtien. Can be found near the taxis at the airport. Goes every hour or it used to.

I had Siam Pool come out and teach my gardener how to and have not had any problems, it's really a rather simple job.

Siam pools taught us too, a very simple process once you have been taught, the hardest bit was getting the chemical balance right, but easy after a few attempts.

  5. Not sure on the times but I have never carried the 20k and never been asked (been crossing here on and off for almost 20 years). The last time I went up in November for a shopping trip they wouldn't take the $10 and insisted on the 500 Thb.

Because of all these people trying to game the immigration rules, immigration is making it tougher for honest retirees.

Sooner or later, immigration will impose health insurance on all retirees and impose stricter requirements.

And rightly so, Health insurance should be mandatory for all visas at all ages.

I used to swim at the pool at Centara Duangtawan, which could be popular with guests from the Middle eastern countries at certain times of the years. They often let their kids run wild in the pool area, unsupervised, even throwing rocks from the landscaping into the pool. The Thai staff was often too mild and polite to do much of anything.

Once, I got out of the pool to find my glasses missing. I had left them next to my towel on a poolside table. A herd of Middle eastern kids had been horsing around near my table. The hotel staff mounted a detailed search of the area and, at my insistence, went to the rooms of that family (four wives and their kids) to make inquiries. All that did was get their father upset, with me standing in the hallway wrapped in a towel, half blind because I had no glasses.

Well, nothing to do but accept the glasses as being lost and return home to where I had an old pair of glasses, fortunately. That helped since it takes a week for Vision Center to make a new pair for me since I wear bifocals.

About the time I got the new glasses from Vision Center, I came into swim at Centara and the staff handed me my lost pair of glasses. No one could seem to provide any information about how they'd turned up. Had they been located in the landscaping around the pool? Had that Middle Eastern family turned them in? Had the housekeeping staff found them in their rooms? I'll never know. Incidentally, no one -- not the hotel management and certainly not that family with the pack of kids ever offered to compensate me for the lost glasses. Instead everyone acted like it was my fault for leaving them on the table next to my towel.

Typical American instantly blaming others especially from the Middle East.

Omg. Could your question be more arrogant? No it couldn't!

So if I have less money than you that makes me a worse neighbor than a rich man?

So 63.000 baht a month... is poverty level to you? I can't write here what I think of you.

By the time you have paid rent, bills, food, gasoline etc, 63k a month is bordering on poverty yes.
