  1. but things don't just "happen." As my uncle used to say, "you want sympathy? Better make sure you deserve it."

Firstly, I didn't see any notion of requesting sympathy, just a warning.

And of course things just don't happen, there has to be a reason.

They didn't need to have breakfast, they could have starved their child, so that they didn't have to cross a road, or go on a holiday. Risk Assessment, breakfast, just not worth the danger.

They could have gone to Samui, not K Chang, still struggling to see how they could avoid crossing a road, or have breakfast, but hey, things just don't happen.

  2. Flaming heck, a bit too close to the eye.

As the Toad, lives on the Island I will take his experiences, I was there for a short time this year and didn't find it too much of a nuisance, but it obviously is.

Hope your young lady recovers well, and if you are having breakfast, and not causing any nuisance, you are not at fault in any sense.

  3. Race/nationality are the same thing.

They are absolutely not the same thing

This is what kicked catmaninoz off previously, in my opinion and I guess an awful lot of other people consider it different.

However, the following comment is from catmaninoz, and so now obvious to follow the, 'Rachel Principle', previously described as, " The only time it desirable to bang your head, is against a head board in the bedroom". I sorry catmaninoz you didn't get that previously.

Then i will take Canadias legal system.

    Whichever system backs my point.

Because any system that proves him wrong in that i am "absolutely" wrong will refute his claim.

The only thing absolute here is the lack of ability for someone to see themselves as racist, when by 1st world legal standards, they are being racist.

I myself, am racist, but i can admit it. I am trying to change it. But i am not in denial about it, or even worse, trying to justify it or defending others racist ideologies.

You will switch to any form of notion that fits your bill, by calling me a racist, is quite telling on your part, you are admitting being a racist, good luck in trying to change.

Race and Nationality are in part inextricably linked but in so many ways still far different, they are not the same.

If that makes me a racist in your view, so be it, even my main detractors on here, I believe will not back you up.

But because you swop between which ever stool suits your purpose, because you bandy pejorative terms at those with whom there is disagreement, there is little point in spending even more time in trying to emphasize a different view point.

    Good Luck in your conversion

  4. you archaic bigot.

That is the most pleasant thing anybody has said to me on this forum, couldn't be further from the truth, but hey lets not let the truth get in the way of a misdirection.

    Right.

    Finished trolling then?

My point has been proven already.

    Do you still refute it?

Absolutely, I could drive holes through your arguments, but I am a busy guy, and you won't listen, remember the banging head comment.

I have been busy today with another celebratory party, but I will try and give you some responses tomorrow, if you listen.

  5. Pick any euro and any african country and replace the continents. A simple way to generalise went straight over your head.

Twisting and turning does not make it not racism.

Discriminating against any nation is racist.

    Went straight over my head!

Oh dear, I think I will leave you to it.

To paraphrase Rachel from 'Friends', banging your head against something hard, is only worth it when it's a head board.

  6. Race/nationality are the same thing.

They are absolutely not the same thing

They are when they are used for discriminatory purposes.

Saying "i prefer whites over blacks" is exactly the same as "i prefer europeans over africans".

    There is no difference.

    Its racism.

    Deal with it.

I was going to ask you to go into more detail, but I see you have edited it, so I will deal with your post.

But later, I have to deal with the kids, which is slightly more important.

  7. Mine whined about wanting a gift, bought her a watch and lots of toys for her kid. She works makes good money, I got nothin! Why are Thai women so selfish? Me me me.

You could, along with others change the people you hang out with, I have a fairly different out look on the Thais, both men and women.

  8. Race/nationality are the same thing.

Could you inform us as to which race this man belongs ( and no, it's not the British Grand Prix) ?

    attachicon.giflewis.jpg

Looks like a kairk to me.

I believe "kairks" (sic) are what the Thais call people from the Indian sub-continent and Arabs etc

As for Hamilton, he appears to be of 'mixed race', just like Obama.

(Hamilton's mother, Carmen Larbalestier, is white British, while his father, Anthony Hamilton, is black British, making him mixed-race,[5] (Anthony Hamilton's parents emigrated from Grenada to the United Kingdom in the 1950s)

    Wikipedia.

You posted whilst I was posting, and yes I forgot to put in the mixed race aspect.

  9. Race/nationality are the same thing.

I would suggest his Nationality is from the United Kingdom, from the state of England, as for race, that is a bit more difficult.

His ancestry would suggest Caribbean, some suggest Black African, but unless the Caribbean is considered African, I am not sure where that correlates, he appears black, but also has a white mother from England, UK.

So pick the race bones out of that, because I am not entirely sure.

  10. Stop Press. David48 has just resurrected a more than one month old thread of his on the Plants Pets and Vets forum about his dog dying. Could this be his final throw of the dice!

he making his dog dying for win the election? what u meaning??

Of course i'm not suggesting that, he started that thread long before the POTY thread started, and it had clearly ran it's course more two weeks ago. I'm sure that it is just a coincidence that a few hours before polling stations close he chose to resurrect it.rolleyes.gif

Only an idiot would think a guy would resurrect a thread regarding his Dog dying to try and gain 100 odd votes in a couple of hours

  11. At this stage in the conversation some maybe questioning ... OMG ... why does David48 go so hard at Jingthing?

If some members are left who have an open mind to the facts ... this is why.

JT and I don't agree on many things ... nothing wrong with that ... diversity and originality in thinking is an attribute to be admired ... not derided.

So JT and I often cross swords.

    <deleted>

JT is good for the Forum ... he brings a perspective and a post count, second to none ... I fully acknowledge that.

But also acknowledge that quantity and quality are different things.

Tis now 1.40am here in Australia, time for some shut eye.

Thanks to WhamBam and geronimo ... you guys were beyond reproach. Definitely a dynamic duo ... thumbsup.gifthumbsup.gif

WhamBam ... I hope your Lassie is on the mend.

geronimo ... did you catch anything today fishing?

And NO ... neither of them are me, both members are not from my birth country and yes, both live in Thailand.

To Nancy and Costas ... assuming you don't win ... congratulations in taking part.

Specifically to Costas ... well done 'ole son. I hope to share a beer with you one day soon.

To JT ... despite the above, well done (I presume) on winning the comp this year.

You have been unwavering on just how much it meant to you and that winning a POTY will be a defining moment in your life.

I'm sure I'll read your acceptance speech in the morning.

You have run a good campaign ... thumbsup.gif

My only comment is ... why does there have to be campaigning at all?

To those who voted for me ... my warmest thanks ... wai.gif

To those who got culled ... a call goes out to you. trans .. I know that especially hit home.

Auntie Patsy ... you deserve special mention ... maybe the Boys will one day go skiing in Europe. Maybe, one day you will meet them in Thailand .. or make the big swim to Australia. There is always a pillow for you at our place.

Mr Smokie ... well done again this year. Maybe a few tweaks for next year ... and there will be a next year.

If I missed anyone ... apologies ... it's way late here.

In a months time I hope to be back with my Family in Thailand.

For me ... that's what it is all about.

A liking for Thailand and a love of Family.

    .

Not nice, David. Isn't it against the rules to divulge the contents of a PM in the open forum? I'm copying it to make a record of it.

In regard to this string please explain where David has divulged the contents of a PM?

  12. That brings up something I really am proud of.

In recent years I have managed to lose over 50 pounds and kept it off long term.

Recently down at the laundry they charged me the lower (non "big farang") price on my shirts for the first time!

    Life is good!

Now JT, that is something to be proud of, I am not going to tell you how that relates to my weight, but several years ago when I was very ill for a prolonged amount of time 50lbs would have equated to just under half my weight.

In the heat of Thailand that must have made a great deal of difference to you
