Two unknown people who both aren't Chinese, both stand to gain (baht) from more Chinese tourists - but don't necessarily have any idea how actual Chinese tourists would view this. My guess is not favorably - part of the reason they come here is to let go and be free from Big Brother at home - shoving Chinese cops up their throats will probably lead to LESS tourists, not more.

    Totally Agree.

The tax change which has already been defended by Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin as a move against income inequality

So the plan is to achieve income equality is by making foreigners' disposable income less...............well the average Thai wife or partner has beaten him to it long ago. I cannot see them wanting to loose out to the Thai tax man and still not receive any state benefits.

Strange to find so many comments from people who lack understanding of parliament system.. the heading is misleading too.

I am neutral on who becomes PM.

MF party only won 30% of the vote so how is it that the remaining 70% cannot choose their candidate for PM? So how is their choice not something the Thai people had voted for ?

Did the unelected senators have a vote on the choice of PM?

If the Senators had any political morality to see democracy finally emerge, they should all resign

    Agreed.

The Senators are not elected by the people and should therefore not have any voting power over the lower house.

The current Senatorial appointments need to be time bounded - if not already.

The Senators need to be elected by the people. They also need to be qualified to stand for election not just "connected" to money or the "old order".

I think it fair to say that people want Prayut gone. If it doesn't happen then the instability after the euphoria in this country is unfathomable. They don't care if it brings the country to its knees as long as they remain in power. It's a sad situation. Mass demonstrations will ensue about changing the constitution then what. Another coup?

Any mass demonstrations needs to be peaceful and with a cross-section of Thai voters not just vocal students.

Senators need to be elected not appointed and even if elected should have no say in the choice of PM.

It will be an expensive lesson learned in trying to beat the competition and jumping on the band wagon before policies have been set in stone.

It was always going to be a gamble, some may lose the bet.

Some may have already recouped their investment..............others will have a supply & customer network in place and trading will continue.

Thailand ended all of its Covid-19 restrictions in the middle of 2022 but even now, well into 2023, many Thais continue to wear face masks,

There are many practical reasons for people wearing a mask all year round. For example having a tendency to ride a motorcycle with your mouth open,

Parked on floor 2 1/4, walked down to floor 2 and the signs are on the wall for immigration and the doors are open 9 a.m.

Parking on floor 2 1/4 is key as the Mall parking is not fully open at 9am. Note there is no where to sit (no AC either) whilst waiting before 9am.

90 day report was quick & efficient as of 18th April circa 9am.

  9. I think there is too much focus on Regional airports only flying to & from Bangkok more cross country flights are needed. Chiang Mai to Udon, Ubon & Pattaya (UTP) exist but not on a daily basis. I have to assume the demand is just not there.

Buriram airport - in the middle of no where - is undergoing a major expansion and currently only services Bangkok (DMK). Some one is looking to the future when the sea level rises & "swampy" can only cater for sea planes.

However in the short term I think the Thais like their big family orientated SUVs & Pick Ups too much to consider flying for them the motor car is king and makes sense. It is not uncommon for families to drive from Chiang Mai to south of Hua Hin.
