Lots of young military age and young families in Phuket.  Especially in the residential areas.  My Thai friends are complaining that the Russians are now living where Thai people usually live.  And they party too much. Not happy with Russians living in Thai neighborhoods.

Presumably the noisy Russians are renting or have bought property from quieter Thais - how inconsiderate.

I live in Phuket and can say there are plenty. Of course, in the major tourist areas you are going to see tourists, but look to the more residential parts and sometimes you think you've landed in PhuketGrad.

Maybe they do not feel welcome in the EU hotspots any more - or perhaps there are not many airlines able to fly to the Med from Russia.

The pollution is everywhere, even in your bedroom closet.  Working from home  does nothing.

Most of Thailand is on fire. One can easily find out whose land is burning.  Arrest the owner and throw

him in jail for a long time.  As for these useless politicians, I leave that to your imagination.

Tourists should stop coming here altogether until this cancer causing issue is fixed permanently.

The issue needs to be fixed across many borders not just in Thailand.

The irony here are those who choose to come and live here then futilely complain about it. At least in your home country you can become a politician and submit a productive complaint. Or even better yet leave during the smoky season and have no complaints. Or even worse just continue to complain about the smoke until it’s gone then find something else to complain about.

Okay for monied expats however how does the logic of non complaining help the residents of Thailand?

Why even do that, just get down to Suvarnabhumi or Don Mueang and select another pristine model before it rots into the ground? Why not a nice big Boeing B747 or an Airbus A380? Very nice planes and plenty of space for generals and cronies! Even better for humanitarian needs too!!!

At this time, does the Thai air force really need a "new" plane? An 18 year old airframe still has at least 12 years left of service at least.

Even bigger selection at UTP airport (U-Tapao)(Pattaya)

One of the reasons why I never get a re entry at the airport its so risky when you have a flight to catch. Easy to do at immigration and even easier if you get an agent to do it for an extra 200 baht at the same time as you get your extension of stay.

How much is the fee at immigration office ?

The story looks like the police left the money on the table not the vendor.

"They had arranged for a brown envelope stuffed with the cash."

Is it a sting or entrapment?

If they used the contractors cash it could be deemed to be evidence and held by the Police/Prosecutor until released by the Court which might take a good while.
