You are correct that there is a Cambodian immigration rule that mandates an overnight stay. However, the requirement is routinely waived on payment of a 200-300 baht tip to the officials.

I plan on renting a car, and crossing the border and spending a night there. If i've not mistaken, you need to spend 24 hours there, correct? Do you also need to book a hotel or can you just go find one upon arrival? Also, what is the price for the visa that is valid for 60 days?

You can't be denied entry specifically for not having a hotel booking. They only ask to see bookings if they're considering denying entry, which they only tend to do to serial tourists. Occasional holiday makers shouldn't have a problem.

A friend is coming next month and will be staying with me for about 2 weeks. Will he have any issues if he just tells immigration that he's staying with me? Anything important info he should know about? or if he needs to fill anything differently in the TM6 card.

Hi, i'm on multiple entry currently and need to do a visa run. Considering it costs 1900 baht for the 1 month extention, i'm assuming this is a great price. The next time around, i want to do the run myself by renting a car and videoing the entire experience. Would that cost me more or less? Considering you can get a car rental for 700 to 1000 baht and do i need to stay out of country for a certain period of time or can i just return back right away?

I'd go as far as saying that the IO probably didn't even notice it, and as long as they don't scan the machine readable data on the visa and let the computer compare that to your passport details (that they do scan), such a birthday mismatch shouldn't matter either.

A friend is travelling to Bkk from india and his date of birth is off by 2 days. He's travelling within a day or 2. Should he risk it and travel given that he can just provide ID and his passport itself will have his correct information? or should he re apply. It'll take another week for him to get his information corrected and will miss his current schedule. Thanks for answering.

Type (DMK) to (KOS) flights in google then click flights below the google search bar and then choose one way. It should be a little over 1000 baht with service fee 1100ish. While you're processing they'll add luggage and insurance which will increase the cost but you can cancel it.

You're right a 100%, always good to be safer than sorry. I was just re confirming it can be used as an exit re-entry since i was confused about being able to get a visa from the cambodian airport. Someone answered that question. Thank you for all your help,elviajero!

You're right, better be on the safe side. I booked a cheap flight so i don't mind even if it's not used. It serves its purpose just by reducing or eliminating risk.

Ah I see, i guess i didn't need to book the outgoing flight to get the visa but i guess it can still be used in case i want to just use it as an exit-reentry after the 60 day period.

I'll probably just throw it away but if i end up using it as a exit and re entry after my 2 months stay in thailand can i just book another flight out right away out of that airport without leaving the airport at all? is there a minimum stay requirement?

You can also get an evisa in advance but it can only be used at I think 2 border crossings (Poipet and Koh Kong) and the airport. Saves a full page in your passport.

Great! Also, I booked a throwaway flight to Sihanoukville (KOS) cambodia, and cambodia requires visa for entry and according to google, you can only get a visa from Phnom Penh & Siem Reap if you plan to get it upon arrival by air. Will this be an issue if i plan to throw it away or just use the ticket as a exit-reentry into thailand by later just booking another flight back same day from that airport to thailand?

The Ottawa Embassy website states "A copy of round-trip ticket or itinerary". Round-trip would mean return to Canada. Not sure what they would accept for "itinerary". I'd recommend you call them before you go to find out exactly what's needed. Consular websites aren't always reliable.
Darn, i just booked a flight to cambodia and i don't think it's refundable. (DMK) to (KOS). It'll be from toronto consulate. I'll give them a call tuesday to see what i have to do.
I also just read that I need to buy a visa upon entry into cambodia and that only Phnom Penh & Siem Reap offer them. Is this true? and given that i'm probably going to not use this flight, do i need to worry about visa?

Oh, i should've mentioned, i'm applying from canada but it's usually the same treatment. I'll book a cheap flight out and probably throw it away I guess.

What they should do is, empty an island. Get foreign volunteers/paid workers/military run the island. It won't be the same but I bet a lotta people would come.
