  1. I’d suspect the non return valve that is supposed to be fitted to the water delivery piping. If it’s old it may pass water ( particularly pumped water) back into the water main. I’d ask for the water board to come and check it out.
  2. Thb 150 in Pattaya bars is about the norm. Lowest I’ve seen recently is Thb 120, but have also seen some places charging Thb 160-180. ( No idea what they might cost in Go Go bars though. I would expect high end pricing, but can’t say.)
  3. From the OPs list I tip for massage and Bolt drivers, plus restaurants / bars if service is not included in the bill and housekeeping if I stay in a hotel. That’s it really. Various reasons for tipping, but mainly for providing reliable/attentive/quality service. Sometimes we forget that the “backstage” people play a role in our satisfaction as customers, and they are sometimes the hardest workers. Just my view.
  4. A year ago I had my driving Licence renewed in Pattaya by an agent. He was getting very excited that I hadn’t updated my TM30 after several trips out of Thailand, so he insisted on updating it for me (no cost). Since then I made one recent trip out of Thailand and the immigration officer explained that they do not need a new TM30 if I’m returning to the same address. We’ll see if it’s a problem when I apply for my extension at the end of the month.
  5. Her sister is probably looking for a cleaning position !! 😂😂😂
  6. Regardless of nationality another disrespectful gesture by visitors. Do these guys put their brains in storage at the airport before exiting through customs? I ask you.
  7. 130-200 per month. 2 bathroom house with small garden. 2 people in residence.
  8. I know the Hand to Hand foundation do visits to prisons here in Pattaya. Contact them and see if you can join one of their visits.
  9. No receipt - of course! Yes, that’s been my experience at Jomtien. Thb 300, no receipt.
  10. BPH is excellent, but I’ve heard first hand that Banglamung Government hospital in Naklua area has a very good modern equipment dental facility. Haven’t tried it, but no reason to not believe the positive report.
  11. Allowing for 1 1/2 hours (Should be plenty using express with no baggage) to get to the taxi rank you should be at BPH no later than 3 PM. It’s about +/- 90 minutes, motorway all the way.
  12. I think there is some degree of making it up as they go along. We went for a residency certificate and handed over the form and required documents, and the lady asked for the chanote of the property. I’m sure she only asked for it because she saw it in a plastic wallet under my wife’s arm. Never asked for on previous occasions……. No biggy, but expect the unexpected at immigration. Immigration 101 !!! 😂😂
  13. You might need the TM30. You don’t have to get the letter from your own branch. Any branch should be able to issue the letter/statement. I think the non shopping mall branches open at 9 or 9:30.AM.
  14. Last Tuesday Jomtien immigration explained when I went to update my TM30 that if my visa status hasn’t changed and I’m returning to the same address I need not get an updated TM 30. The lady did update mine as I was there anyway. Hope this helps.
  15. These are great to have dotted around when you have a BBQ. Means there is always low cost tissue around for guests, for those messy ribs and chops. At the end of the day it’s just tissue paper.
  16. I had a ticket for being in the middle of a junction in Roi et. Took the paperwork on the day the post office delivered it to the house to the bank that administers receipt of fines, and the lady told me I was too late and would have to go back to Roi et to pay it. As I live in Pattaya I had no intention of doing that. So saved myself a Thb 500 fine. A few weeks later I sold the car to a Thai National who lived in another province, and he subsequently reregistered the car. I guess that ticket is truly lost in the ether now !!
  17. Seems a bit drastic to just drag up !! Try making some changes here. Sell the business, move somewhere else, tour SE Asia for a while…..variety of things to try. Then if that doesn’t work try a trip home with your wife for 3 months. Maybe then things won’t seem so bad here. Hope you work it all out. Just my thoughts.
  18. I’ve heard it’s hit and miss. I have heard recently that they only honour appointments made for permission to stay extensions and the like. I don’t know if that was the purpose of your appointment or not. Anyway hope you got what you needed done eventually.
  19. I sold my car within a few days on FB. Lots of interest in the car, but many tyre kickers also. First guy that came to look at it bought it for the asking price. I think for big things like cars and motorbikes it works ok. I agree there appear to be many scams for lower cost items though.
  20. I find I can resist anything except temptation !!🙈
  21. At Jomtien IO , the following is required…. TM 47 form Passport Bio page Copy of Visa page Copy of last entry stamp Copy of TM 30 Address report Original Passport and Old 90 day reporting receipt
  22. I think Wise is great. I opened the account to pay someone in Sweden a small amount of Krona, and my UK bank charge would have been more than the debt. Sent it with Wise with a small fee, and have never looked back. Great service, exchange rates and fees. Use it regularly now to transfer money to Thailand.
  23. Simple answer is yes. Might be worth renewing passport now though. Maybe save some effort next year.
  24. Report 90 days after you get back….July. Counter resets when you re enter.
