If you do not have a WP you are in for a rude surprise when it comes time to renew.

They will issue the first extension without it but not after that.

While large enough bribes can do just about anything in Camb, it would take a large one for this, more than a self professed "poor" expat is likely to have.

I think you are just as most long term expats in Cambodia who think that any rule is valid there...

I will stay there as long as I want by just paying and I have no doubt about it.

This may sound crazy but what works for me: put deodorant before taking a shower to kill the bacteria, then soap and rinse 2-3 times.  Just soaping once isn't enough.  It also helps to trim the armpit hair.  No deodorant after that.  When you start the day clean like that I don't have an underarm odor problem.  Used to have that yellow stain problem too, now no longer.

Who can pretend to be clean when having armpit hair ?

    Funny...

Yes, I didn't know and many others don't also know, because I have asked here face to face and it's surprise to many people. If all travels go well and you newer ever in your lifetime contact your own Embassy, because there is no any need and there is no any information anywhere about that they don't care adn help own citizens this kind of cases, how do you then know?

"Maybe someone smart would have declared the passport lost and got a new one...

Then the rats would have kept a stupid canceled passport."

What info I have f there is no sense to do this, because when you don't go court, police is already looking for you and if you lie to your Embassy that you lost your Passport, anyway you have to get stamps and visit immigration and then penalty is more, because you try to escape out of the country.

Millions of forums explaining that embassies dont give a F in case of problems that you made, especially violence and drug.

Thank you for confirming who you are. I found your blog and you are French.

I really didn't know that they don't care.

That is the usual rule. Actually at first, the IO kept on telling me, "Go back to Cambodia!" but I requested him if I could go back to the Philippines instead. I think the immigration still has the final verdict whether they would send back the person to where he/she departed from or to his/her home country. In my case, I'm thankful that the Thai immigration allowed me to fly back to my country.

Yes I think you have been lucky.

Anyway, even if you were not smart to prepare your trip, I wish you the best and yes, you can hate these rats in uniform, this is all what they deserve.

Visa exempt entry is not limited to ASEAN countries.

Filipinos qualify for visa exempt entry but all entries are at the discretion of the immigration officer. Young Filipinos have a high chance of being denied entry on the suspension of working because many do work illegally.

And since when Filipinos are allowed to leave their country ? I have read here before that it was not that easy for them to travel abroad ?

You say you went for a trip to Cambodia, so I assume you returned the same day you departed Thailand. If so, you may have fallen foul of a ruling which states that you are not allowed to exit Thailand  and re-enter the same day. You are required to stay out of Thailand until next day. This happened to met at Sadao in 2014, as well as a fellow traveller who had a Non O multi-entry visa. As other posters have stated make sure you have the required documentation and relevant amount in Baht. As a citizen of an ASEAN country I thought you could enter Thailand without a visa, maybe I am wrong. Anyway, I hope you do decide to return to Thailand and that you enjoy the country, culture and people.

    Yes you are very wrong.

This rule only exist in Cambodia.

How can people still listen to stupid officials who know nothing and are happy to die knowing nothing ?!

Not hard to extend if you are employed and ave a work permit. But the days of being able to get one without being employed -- or of being able to work without a work permit -- are over.

I think like most people who lived long time in Cambodia you do not see the truth anymore.

Of course things are changing, but it is still so easy to cheat the system, or do you think that all the poor low so foreigners who live there could still be in Cambodia now ?

Cambodia will empty quickly if it becomes as difficult as Thailand, so I am sure that it's not going to happen shortly.

  9. Hello,

I am wondering if now people know the difference between a DRAFT and a CASHIER CHEQUE ?

Buying something that cost almost 10 millions, the seller would only accept a bank draft because only bank drafts are guaranteed. It means that there is no way to cancel it an cheat the seller.

Seller didn't accept a cashier cheque because it can be canceled and it is not 100% safe.

So if you want to feel safe, do not accept a cashier cheque but only a bank draft.

    Cheers.

    You are entirely wrong ...

A bankers draft is a cheque issued by the banks, and a cashire cheque is a cheque issued by the Thai banks.

I have taken many cashire's cheque's from the Thai banks were I hold my accounts

I have purchased many cars in Thailand, the car prices were between 1,350,000 - and 1.900.000 - I purchased a land property for a second home, the price was 3,500.000 -.

I pay each time the total cash sum of the purchased items, it gets out of my bank account into the cashire cheque to make the payment and I have done this many, many times and each time the fee for the cashire's cheque was 20 baht.

The one who is entirely wrong is you...

    Hello,

I think what you are saying is right but Misterwhisper got it wrong.

So if we do not want to pay more than 20 baht fee we have to issue a cashier cheque in the same province.

I wonder why some people use draft, even in the same province when cashier cheques are almost free ? Is a draft more secure?

    Thanks.

Money is blocked with draft, not with cashier cheque that can be canceled.
