Seeing polls like this really helps to keep me grounded and reminds me of the reality of how we are seen and appreciated.  I think that I will make a copy of the part about being "forced to take and pay" for vaccine and tape it to the wall by my computer. As I get requests for money to pay for her kids education, Mom's hospital bills, her car repairs, or a new car or a house, etc. I can reread this over and over!

    Soo right, my mate!

As tremendous achievment as it undoubtedly is, to me the money involved could be much better spent in other areas.back here on earth where we still cannot feed our people, & after 2022

we will still have over 25% of the earths population not vaccinated against Covid because

there is no immediate gain, which could very well come back & bite them in the derriere.

Apart from expanding our frontiers,  as an earthling, I doubt that Mars will bring us any tangible

    advantages

    Fully agreed, Natway

like cleaning up the oceans of the <deleted> that we are putting there.

  3. As long as....

he can melt most of his gold down again after the party, he hasn’t spent too much on the fun...

if I had a gold shop, I’d do something similar,

only I wouldn’t aspire to become a boring cleric,

but someone like Julius Caesar or Mark Anthony, being carried by slaves through town on a sedan bed, sucking grapes and Dom Perignong!  Naked girls fanning me and throwing lollies into the crowd, if you get my drift!

Gee, people are getting so boring and thoughtless with their ideas these days....

  4. When I came here as a tourist years ago, I always had at least the money, they want them to have now, either with me in cash, or in my accounts.

I guess, the times of backpacking without a brass razoo are over for good.

Did it the Thai government not say some time ago, that they are not wanting poor tourists anymore, but the more well to do ones?

            Now they are following suit.

Never mind, that I as a retirement visa resident can’t afford an odd 70 000 Baht health insurance per year, that’s if the health insurance companies would even accept my application, because of pre - existing health conditions.

Wonder, what’s next, time will tell

    Cheers

OP is a bachelor at heart and now he has found out "that marriage is not really for me". He is not the only one that feels like that, but he is one of the few that is willing to "face the problem". Respect!
Remedy: Move in a 2 story house. "Upstairs" is your kingdom, downstairs the mayhem of your family may continue to take place. Occasional visits allowed and recommended.

If not, you may end up in divorce-court or the madhouse. Or worse.
Alternatively: You may play AC/DC's "Highway to hell" 24 hours a day at full blast. I am confident, that after 72 hours, not only the rats will have left, but also your family.
The family, wishing to return? You will be in a good bargaining position: "It's my way or I will re-engage AC/DC"!
    Luck to you. Cheers.

Or you relocate back to that house  with all the  the unused rooms to get back to your former self.

FamIly or not, no sense in sacrificing yourself.

Your life would be drive me bonkers as  well

  6. Let’s not forget, the police in the USA

have a terrible job, fighting an underground warfare, that reminds me of WW2, and not of a civilized country, just about EVERYONE has a gun, and guns are made for ONE reason only, to kill and maim PEOPLE.

So no wonder that also seemingly innocent people get murdered.

In my opinion, we are talking about a form of terrorism.

    Un-acceptable in a civilized world.
